If you compare this to other games this was great but it wasn’t it was pretty mediocre no real chances that I can remember but we played well on the ground at times. Poor finish to a horrendous season. Horrendous. Norwich win somehow?? 5-5 at the Hawthorns lukaku hatrick and Nolan hatrick at west ham what a great day of football for the season end.

M’biwa for me, looks a real composed player.

There seems to be serious issues with our conditioning though, too many players not fit enough to play 90mins.

Drastic reform of many sections of the club is urgently required.

what I am saying is HBA and gouffran are both ball greedy and go down the middle gouffran is not that creative.

what happens is when HBA and marvo consider attacking through the centre as good we are left with no width so all 4 defenders can try closing in on him leaving cisse off side
    _______HBA_______
    ___LB__CB_CB__RB
    ______cisse_gouffran_

marvo is the very same himself and sissoko is not a winger nor is cabaye or cisse
if we had players decent enough to cross the ball cisse would not have so much trouble staying on side and HBA could be in more space for his dribbling

    __________HBA_______
    a winger____CB____cisse
    LB______carroll CB_______RB
basically the space would be much greater as the opposition’s defence has to spread out all along the pitch rather than just close down HBA

I cannot take another whole season or more with this man in charge. For the first time in over 1 and half year we played decent footy for the first 35min. But he’s gone back to what he does best and that’s his negative deep lying tactics. I dont know what I will do when in university come september. I will get more stressed!!

Has to be the big man yanga, simply fantastic today!
Think we also learnt Marv is a much better number 10 than benny who should be on the wing
Anita also played well would like to see a midfield of cabs Anita and Marv next season!

We attacked well today but with cisse’s typical lethargic display upfront we need some one else to lead the line
And benny needs to learn to pass the bloody ball!!

Cisse again isolated up front, not good enough for a home game

movement off the ball average at best

I must have counted 100 passes going straight to Arsenal defenders

Mapou was head and shoulders above everyone today

It was a decent performance today but as always we are incapable of playing for a full 90 minuets.

If the manager stays then performances and results will also stay the same

I still have a lingering doubt that Pardew will be in charge next season.

Even non football type chairmen (Ash) can see he is not good enough.

Blanc or Benitez would do so much better with these players

    Imo

Dire that we didn’t even trouble the keeper. Major surgery needed.
This is NUFC’s 2nd lowest PL finish, 2nd lowest points total and MOST EVER number of losses (19) & MOST EVER goals conceded (68)!

    Woeful

Another sorry performance from the Toon players. The exception was Steve Harper – thanks Steve. As far as Pards goes, I expect him to be sacked forthwith, and the rest of the Toon players need to look at themselves because there were quite a few of them on the beach already. Tiote was diabolical, our worst player, but not much worse than the rest. Collochini, other than Harper put in a credible performance. Sack Pardew !

What i would give for an in form goal scorer in the side today.
Also it has been so long since we tried to be positive we got nose bleeds being that high up the pitch.
To Catchy…. i am happy to accept difference of opinion from you, i doubt we will ever agree an many things. Dont let my views “do your head in” as you might find i am discussing something different or for different reasons. I am not just saying things to randomly dissagree with you. I think many of your complaints about pardew are very valid. I have some problems with him myself. I just dont think hes a total fk up.

We lost our firepower when Ba left and was not replaced . Blame Llambias not Pardew. We caused little threat to Arsenal goal despite a lot more possession than in last few home games.

The best individual on the pitch today was the ref who blew the final whistle to end this God-awful season.
Pardew – “I think I’ll take off our second striker (who is playing pretty well actually) as we’re really trying to chase the game” and “I think it’s time to take off MBiwa who’s having a stormer to put Jonas on in his place in order to bring Campbell on”.
Yeah – right you silver foxed idiot.
Why don’t you just do us all a favour and resign with a little bit of dignity.
Come on Ashley – get rid!!!

We had nothing up front. Gouffy flattered to deceive. Little end product and we need to acquire a target man and another tricky forward. Word in London is that Pardew has already asked after Defoe.

Joke season. Need a new backroom staff. Tiote and Gutierrez need to be shipped out. Cisse looked lethargic, starting to lose patience with him. The back 4 looked good, adding another centre back like Sakho would be good. Sissoko and Cabaye/Anita sitting, then we need 3 class creative players that can switch around. We have 1 in Ben Arfa, then Marveaux and Gouffran are great back ups. I think we need a CAM like De Jong and a Winger. Then we need 2 strikers. Someone fast and skillful and someone poweful strong. I’m thinking PEA and Bony. Not Carroll, for me signing Carroll would signal hoofball. New Manager would be a dream but clearly he will stay. Negative tactics, wrong formations, players played out of position. Just everything is wrong. The team he has right now should be top 8. Can only be optimistic for next season as it can’t be worse than this season…

clueless in the final third. sorry but Cabaye needs to go after his recent comments he clearly doesnt want to play for the toon anymore so he can go had a shit season starting to see what he is all about. Ben arfa all the talent but cannot pass the ball for shit and loses the ball to easily. I know i am moaning but for all the die hard newcastle fans like myself i cannot watch this again next season its not fair on all the hard paying fans who spend their hard earned money watching this farce this Pardew calls football. how can Ashley assure this clown of his job. I have to say for all the money in the world ashley doesnt have a clue on how football works. God please knock some sense into Ashley and let him get rid of this man who is killing most toon fans all over the world cause pardew is clueless and even with quality players he cant manage for shit simple as. We need a clear out in the summer some local talent sounds best to me.

Can’t believe the sheer arrogance of one or two posters who have to insult anyone who doesn’t agree with their opinion. You should know who you are but probably have your heads firmly where the sun don’t shine so just don’t get it. As for today Mapou was totally in control against Walcott. We played well but not well enough. We certainly don’t need major surgery but some tinkering is required. Maybe I was watching something different but rarely did we throw long balls into the box – until maybe the last 5 minutes. It seems to me that some want to perpetuate this myth whatever. Tiote was ok till Cabaye went off then seemed to think he was our midfield maestro??? I believe he can pass the ball well but is inclined to try to force it when we’re behind. Similarly Ben Arfa started well but felt later on that he could win the game on his own. Also don’t quite understand the “unfit players over 90 min” comment. Should we not be allowed to play subs like everyone else? No, today was what I expected, a good performance but a narrow defeat. Whatever else, arsenal had everything to play for while we played for pride only. It showed.

Thought Mapou was excellent but I think that Anita showed us the composure and intricate passing that we’ve missed (and sadly don’t need without current incumbent) and was excellent, would have been good to sign off with a win but surely we cannot be worse next year…can we?
