Andy Carroll Waiting For Newcastle To Come In For Him

11:24 pm, Tuesday, May 21st, 2013 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 42 Comments

There were reports tonight that Andy Carroll is stalling on a move to West Ham,  after the Hammers and Liverpool were said to have agreed on a fee of £15M for the England striker.

Andy Carroll

Andy Carroll – waiting for Newcastle

Andy doesn’t have a future at Liverpool, we all know that, but it seems the Geordie lad would love to return home to Newcastle, but it may be that £15M has priced Andy out of a move back to Newcastle.

Andy played quite well at West Ham and scored seven goals in 23 appearances last season, but Newcastle fans are undecided about whether Newcastle should go after him at £15M.

Should Newcastle Sign Andy Carroll for £15M?

Certainly Alan Pardew and Derek LLambias seem keen to sign the Geordie striker, and he would give Newcastle something different up front, but £15M may be abridge too far for Newcastle.

After all, we are said to have paid just £18M for the five Frenchmen that moved to Newcastle in January.

Andy is injured again, and this time it’s his heel, so he had to pull out of the England squad, and he’s likely to be injured for up to six weeks.

But it seems the ball is now in Newcastle’s court, but we’d be surprised if Newcastle want to pay £15M to bring the Geordie striker back home – but we could be wrong about that.

sign him up…wait Pardew has just been sacked…?

  • 2 ToonMobile // May 21, 2013 at 11:28 PM

If it is true we would get a percentage of any sell on fee from him then surely the price we would have to pay for him would be less since we then wouldn’t obviously receive a portion of it? So instead of £15 million we’d probably have to pay £11/12 million as that is how much of the fee Liverpool would get from West Ham taking into account what we would get from the sell-on. Or something like that – assuming we are getting a percentage of any sell on obviously :)

Repost: Rule 1 – never trust twitter as a source of information.
Rule 2 – realise that NUFC are about as unpredictable as Apple maps.
Rule 3 – assassinate Pardew if you see him in public.
Rule 4 – ignore Rule 3 as it may get you into trouble. Just give him a roundhouse kick or something.

If Pardew and Carroll are here at the start of next season i will welcome it as i would a dog turd on the front step. We’ve already went backwards enough this last season.

  • 4 Toon Tang // May 21, 2013 at 11:31 PM

i think we should buy him and then sell him to liverpool for 35m

  • 5 Spoof // May 21, 2013 at 11:32 PM

If the fee is £15m we won’t get him, and the window doesn’t open until July 1st, so why worry about it now, nothing can happen, apart from a verbal agreement, and all we have to do is ask Kevin Nolan about them. Hmmm

  • 6 OhSholaAmeobi // May 21, 2013 at 11:33 PM

And we did go backwards. Had a smaller squad, finished 11 places lower and played worse football while facing the possibility of losing our captain and best player along with other top players.

  • 7 Spoof // May 21, 2013 at 11:33 PM

    Toon Tang
now that sounds like a good idea.

  • 8 OhSholaAmeobi // May 21, 2013 at 11:34 PM

    Toon Tang

Why did nobody think of this before?

  • 9 Spotlight Kid // May 21, 2013 at 11:35 PM

Andy is a big kid at times wanting to come home at every opportunity. Truth is he needs more time away from the North East (and the Bigg Market) to develop as a player and a person. Best for all if moves abroad and is forced to develop those undoubted ground skills further, and then returns (for about 10m) in a couple of years when in his prime for 6 solid seasons.

Remember, Liverpool are not going to give NUFC a discount, but might well be willing to haggle with a different club. Once AC is no longer a Liverpool player the whole thing will financially fall into place much easier, Andy will be older and wiser, and Pardew will (hopefully) be long gone.

The latest im hearing is that Martinez will our manager by mon and he wants to bring McCarthy, Kone but we will not be signing Carroll we r going after the de jong brothers Luuk is not happy in germany and will cost 8-10m Siem still wants a new challenge and to follow the other Ajax players to England we r in talks over a 9M move has anyone heard from Torq I want to confirm a CB im hearing before I name him.

  • 11 Ben3arfa // May 21, 2013 at 11:38 PM

Id love Carroll back but not for 15mil

For that same amout of money we can sign two strikers Amido Balde and Ideye Brown

  • 12 OhSholaAmeobi // May 21, 2013 at 11:40 PM

For once a tabloid newspaper hits the nail on the goddamn head.

  • 13 Spotlight Kid // May 21, 2013 at 11:40 PM

They do say children’s fiction is a lucrative business, but please don’t practice on here. We’re all a bit ower sensitive after the last 10 months….

  • 14 manxpie // May 21, 2013 at 11:40 PM

solano the best thing is some think its a top 4 squad and i’ve even seen people say its better than man u’s!!

fifa and the like has alot to answer for :)

  • 15 HAZZY1 // May 21, 2013 at 11:40 PM

Ben3arfa Ive heard Ideye Brown is near the top of our list after Luuk de Jong and 1 other that I cant name yet Im waiting to hear news on our main target.

  • 16 beefman13 // May 21, 2013 at 11:41 PM

We all know big mike likes a bargain, and getting andy back with maybe 17 million in the satchel will be very tempting, we know how much they like the lad, target man football will remain at the club no doubt if he did come back, a long shot, I personally do feel MA would pay it for Andy, for me the coins in the air, I like the kid as a player but it will set us in our ways again style wise, plus were does he play and fit in with cisse who is clueless with a strike partner, cisse is totally ineffective out wide, I just don’t know to be honest.

  • 17 HAZZY1 // May 21, 2013 at 11:42 PM

Spotlight Kid I only post what ive heard im not saying im ITK but I do confirm my info with Torq and Sage I may be wrong but we will have to c.

  • 18 manxpie // May 21, 2013 at 11:43 PM

even though we aint got any out n out wingers n only 1 decent striker!

  • 19 OhSholaAmeobi // May 21, 2013 at 11:44 PM

Aubameyang or bust. Not Carroll. Or Bony (who is a practical clone of Kenwyne Jones, lazy lazy player).

  • 20 Ben3arfa // May 21, 2013 at 11:44 PM

I think you were meaning to say Siem De Jong

  • 21 Toon-Prodigy // May 21, 2013 at 11:45 PM

Can’t say I’d want Carroll back. I’v always had the same opinion on the lad.

If we are going to shell out 10-15 mil on a striker we need goals in return for that. My opinion, sadly, I can’t ever see Andy Carroll hitting 15-20 goals a season for the Toon.

Pardews future is going to be decided on this striker alone I reckon, if we don’t bring goals to this team we will struggle up until Christmas.

Bellamy type player for the win

  • 22 HAZZY1 // May 21, 2013 at 11:46 PM

Ben3arfa NO he is a ACM not a striker im talking about our list of Strikers Luuk De Jong is not happy in germany and wants a move.

  • 23 Spoof // May 21, 2013 at 11:46 PM

it would not surprise me, not one tiny little bit, pretty sad really isn’t it, how blinded they are

  • 24 manxpie // May 21, 2013 at 11:46 PM

does anyone else think that with andy cisse would get hatfulls he’s always on the last defenders shoulder and andy could be the service he needs?

  • 25 HAZZY1 // May 21, 2013 at 11:48 PM

manxpie yeah he could if he learned to stay on-side but he makes his moves to early he needs to sit deeper imo so he can then take his long shots.

  • 26 Jackel001 // May 21, 2013 at 11:49 PM

How concrete is the Martinez bit?

  • 27 Spoof // May 21, 2013 at 11:50 PM

Cisse is always on the shoulder, but Carroll is either on the sick or ?issed in the Bigg Market, I’d rather go for Pea, at least you would get a few games out of him

  • 28 Spotlight Kid // May 21, 2013 at 11:52 PM

In which case I’ll tune back in next week to see how many of your horses actually made it to the starting gate, let alone crossed the finish line by Monday.

That is assuming there is going to be a starting gate.

  • 29 HAZZY1 // May 21, 2013 at 11:52 PM

Jackel001 like I said before im not ITK i only post what ive heard or been told but the guy I heard it of has got 80% of our transfer’s and news correct but Im waiting to speak to him again Pards should be gone in the next 36hrs if my info is right.

  • 30 Mark the Mag // May 21, 2013 at 11:53 PM

He would def get Cisse more goals, the way pardrew plays he needs carrol up front coz cisse cant hold the ball up or bring the midfield into play, but cant see him playing both together lol

  • 31 HAZZY1 // May 21, 2013 at 11:54 PM

Spotlight Kid nite m8 ill get ready to win the derby then lol.

  • 32 manxpie // May 21, 2013 at 11:56 PM

aye spoof some of the posters on here who want to see this beautiful football week in week out can you tell me a prem team that does it?
    and 1 that wins well?
arsenal did it but its getting less n less n less even they resorted to buying a target man!
i believe we’re defo building a great squad but the word “building” being the important word there lol
but again after a bad season for many reasons and more imo above the players n manager! the answers gonna be sack pardew n start again but i suppose i should be used to it by now :)

  • 33 Jackel001 // May 21, 2013 at 11:56 PM

Fair play play mate, but if it is Martinez then I won’t be over joyed. Wanted Rafa but suppose we can’t have everything! Saying all this, bet we have Pardew for the rest of time haha

  • 34 Ben3arfa // May 21, 2013 at 11:56 PM

Luuk De Jong has played poorly for Monchengladbach ..
He’s pretty tall but not strong enough to challenge physical centre halves .

So im not very sold on him tbh

  • 35 Spoof // May 21, 2013 at 11:57 PM

Martinez inherited a strong Wigan side, he then took the backbone out of it to enable pretty passing, and they have now passed their way into the Championship, so no thanks.
The only current manager who I feel we could get who could improve us is Martin Jol, Rafa and the likes would not come, the rest are no better than what we have, Jol, I could go for, but the chances are he might get a bigger transfer kitty from them than what he would get from Ashley, so could we tempt him.

  • 36 donkey // May 21, 2013 at 11:59 PM

is not just goals with andy and even if he only gets 15 goals a season i think it still good value because of all the other atributes he brings at 15 million in todays tranfer market its not really that much money with the new tv money coming in aswel its going to look like a bargain if west ham get him. Unreal the amount of people on here who wouldent want him back

  • 37 Toon-Prodigy // May 22, 2013 at 12:03 AM

I think people forget sometimes where this football club actually is at present.

We are 3 seasons back into the premier. We have a small squad, tiny last season to compete in all of what we did.

We don’t have an amazing squad, we don’t have amazing players. We have good players and now have a good bench with bringing in five players in January.

The board has made life very difficult this season for everyone concerned and there isn’t much blame being pointed at them which is wrong.

If you set up a season for failure, what more can you expect?

The blame is a collective effort from the board down to the players, manager and coaching staff.

  • 38 Toon-Prodigy // May 22, 2013 at 12:08 AM

My opinion, It’s not that I just don’t want the lad back. Or that I don’t think he would benefit the team.

I just think a different type of forward would bring alot more to the side. A fast and nippy type of forward.

I think you could bring alot more attributes in a forward for that kind of money. Attributes which we dearly miss.

I’d love to see a clinical, fast experienced striker brought in. I doubt it would happen though as I think he has singled this role out for young campbell next season to come off the bench.

  • 39 dcdick // May 22, 2013 at 12:12 AM

Is it today he’s going ??

  • 40 lesh // May 22, 2013 at 12:28 AM

If carrolls in, pardews in too!

  • 41 AmericanGeordie // May 22, 2013 at 2:17 AM

I would gladly take Carroll back.

However, I wouldn’t offer Liverpool more than 8 million for him. If we put a bid in, and AC would only accept a transfer to Newcastle, then Liverpool would have to sell him to us, or bring him back and pay him 80k a week to rot on the bench.

Big Andy holds all the cards, and if he really wants to play for the Toon, I bet we can get him for well under 10 million.

HAZZY1, you know nothing. You are not special. You have no “special connection” or “inside scoop”. You are not privy to information beyond the knowing of us mere mortals, so ease off the attention seeking. It’s sad.
