Hammers Agree £15M Fee For Carroll – Too Much For Newcastle

News is coming through that West Ham have agreed to pay £15M to sign Liverpool striker Andy Carroll.

Andy Carroll – he’s not worth £15M

We reported this morning that West Ham were in negotiations with Liverpool and the next step would be to agree the fee, and once that was agreed Newcastle would decide whether to bid for their former striker.

Bur we think West Ham are overpaying for the England forward, by about £5M, and he’s simply not worth £15M and therefore we’d be surprised if Newcastle now move for their former striker.

Sam Allardyce had made the signing of Andy his top priority for the summer, as he had this a couple of days ago:

“It is our target to make it a permanent situation,” he said. “Hopefully we can get somewhere in the near future to do that.” “It’s our main priority. There are negotiations between the club and Liverpool.”

Liverpool will still make a loss of £20M on the player in two and a half years – but on the other hand £15M is still a big fee for Andy – given his form since he left Newcastle.

We think the Hammers are overpaying for Andy, but then again they paid out £10.75 last summer to sign former Wolves winger Matt Jarvis, and he’s not worth anywhere near that amount.

It seems that English players cost an awful lot of money these days – given their skill level.

We would be surprised if Newcastle are interested in Carroll at that price.

Let us know if you would sign Andy for £15M

    Nice money for Ashley then,

The worst two seasons in history under Ashley.

Mr. Ashley thinks we are Sprague Dawleys!!!!

Now he awaits writhing response and tail flick. Remember The Island Of Dr. Moreau!!

Well we dodged a bullet there.

Tried signing AC on figs with Newcastle for a laugh, rejected my offer because he didn’t think he’d be “welcome” 😆

At least that’s hopefully finished so we can move on and have some decent targets this window.
He’s great in the air and a nuisance but he’d be in the papers for the wrong reasons too often if he moved back

So now hopefully the Carroll coming back to Toon is finaly over.i dont give a toss weather he signs for WHU or any other club for that matter, now Mr Ashley make us all happy by getting rid of Pardew & appoint a coach who will really move our club forward.

Sick of hearing Pardew say ‘we need one or two players this summer’. We need about 6 first team signings at least.

Ashley almost spent £17M on Luuk De Jong last summer so he is capable of spending that kind of money.

However, this once again proves how over priced english players are…there are much cheaper alternative whom of which are better than AC

it’s so easy to ‘almost spend’ money…i almost bought a 30,000 merc but didn’t/

Ashley can say what he likes but if he doesn’t spend the money to bring in top players then we will be 6/7th at best.

Not that I am aware of, pretty sure he hasn’t. Hopefully he has a style that would pass pretty seamlessly into the prem league, or at least be able to adapt quickly.

Not seen much of montpellier though so couldn’t comment myself.

Carroll was the only way Pardew was going to get us up the league next year, it looks like its another year of Shola. 🙁

Maybe Pardew will sign John Carew or Peter Crouch, they will give us the ‘experience’ we need. 🙁

heard a couple weeks ago we spoke to benitez, now even if we dont get him the fact we spoke must mean they are considering giving pardew the boot.

    Schwefelberg

Well we had a worse team finish 5th last year. I think this side we have now, in the right hands, could be top 7.

The article I just posted gives a little insight into Girard’s philosophy.

Attack minded possession football with a focus on team unity and youth.

yeh i see…but they fall away a lot this year, i know they lost giroud but is there any other reason?

could argue he failed to adapt to problems like pardew has done.

If i messed up the hopes of that many people who love a club i sure as hell couldn’t sit and laugh at games, take home a huge pay cheque and sleep easy.

I can’t but help some people look at what could be with the players we have, to be honest you don’t know and can only ever presume. What can be said is those players are capable of playing better football in a better manner, we know that because we have on occasion kept possession and passed the ball well. If you can get a manager do that and have some end product it would be better than what we don’t have at the moment. under Pardew. I don’t think you can say we have a top 10 or top 6 team because every team needs a bit of luck, look when we finished 5th some of those goals Cisse was scoring week in week out most players would score once a season.

Hopefully it’s first season jitters being in a struggling team…he may well come good.
