We were hoping this thing would just go away, and Fabricio Coloccini would be happy to stay at Newcastle and see out the remaining three years of his contract, but it doesn’t look that way, with the San Lorenzo President Matias Lammens saying he will meet with Coloccini to try to get a deal done.
Fabricio Coloccini – the saga goes on …. and on …
It’s La Cicloneta in San Lorenzo who are reporting the news, and this is what Lammens is quoted as saying:
“I have the intention of meeting with Fabricio and talking about the conditions of his move to San Lorenzo.” We understand Newcastle don’t have too much interest in the summer other than keeping Coloccini in their squad.”
“They’ve managed to escape from the relegation zone, so they’ll now think about what is best for the player, that need to go back home.”
That’s a rather strange statement – but we suppose Mike Ashley will hold out for £5M or £6M for the center-back – and if San Lorenzo can’t afford that – well that’s hard lines.
And we don’t know where the meeting with Coloccini and Lammens will take place – in England or in Argentina – but the President will need permission to talk to one of our players still on a contract at Newcastle.
San Lorenzo couldn’t afford Colo in January, and we’re not sure where they will get the money from now – but of course step two is they may seek divine intervention.
Pope Francis is a keen supporter of San Lorenzo, and he’ll be following this situation closely.
We had the Demba Ba saga that lasted all last summer, and now we can look forward to the Fabricio Coloccini saga potentially lasting all this summer.
Oh no! 🙁

Comment #41To me it looks like the gang of Three being MA DL AND AP are in a pact, its a closed shop, my feeling is the five year plan wont be seen out and MA will sell up within 18 months, and DL AND AP WILL GO AS WELL, that’s the conclusion I have came to, I do see us bringing in some decent players in the summer and letting some go also, but I cant see us being consistant from game to game with Alan Pardew in charge, we all know that the toon did not put in one whole consistant 90 mins in the whole of last season, which is quite staggering, maybe that is the only thing that was consistan wast the consistency!!!!
I just wonder how AP is going to handle any bad runs we go on next season, well I do know the politicians hat will be back on to blame one thing or another, I suppose AP has been the most consistent thing this season with his wineing on about the same old same old, oh how im looking forward to that?!?!
Yes its definatly a CLOSED SHOP, THE FELLA PARDEW SHOULD HAVE GOT HIS P45, NO IFS OR BUTTS.

Comment #43Given as spurs are looking to offload Parker, Huddlestone and gallas, would anybody take Parker back? The bloke oozes passion which is something we have lacked.
I’d take Huddlestone at the right price.

Huddlestone was rumored to be going at 5 million value but he won’t come here there’s nothing to play for.

Comment #45I expect the club to splash out this year and really mean business. Pardew has said that he wants at least 2 new strikers, so lets get them signed up.

focused on the forthcoming campaign, with the
expectation of at least a top-10 finish in the
Premier League.
THE FOKER IS NOT CONFIDENT OF TOP 10 FINISH…. HE EXPECT ATLEAST TOP 10…… SO MAYBE HIS CURRENT AIM IS TO BE 15-16TH BY DECEMBER

Problem Numero uno for San Lol is they haven’t got a pot. Not a bean. I think if Colo is waiting for them to come up with the cash it’ll be a while unless they get a sponsor.

Comment #70Jamsha I’d say please don’t hang me for it but i’ve always wanted to be hung like a doesn’t matter you get the drift.
Well now Pardew’s confirmed as staying good luck and I really hope he and the board prove every one wrong, I’m more than happy if we achieve success even with some one I don’t like.
Must say I’m a bit disappointed that their meeting was all about discussing what had gone wrong last season, I had hoped they discuss how they would put it right this season because there’s no way Pardew has the ability to figure it out himself!
I don’t suppose we’ve bid for anyone yet?

Comment #73Jamsha…. the term “at least a top ten finnish” means the he expects 10th AT THE VERY LOWEST. Not the other way round. I know you are determined to be totally negative but come on, twisting a statement that much is just silly. At least top 10, hoping for higher. That is clearly what it meant. I dont care where your from, that should have been obvious

Comment #74I find it strange that people are stereotyping Pardew’s transfer policies as long-ball motivated, when most of our transfers have been anything but.
All because he said he would “like” to get Carroll? Some of you are really making a stretch.
