Newcastle Youngsters Win Their First Game

Good news today that Newcastle’s U21 sevens side won their first game in Hong Kong today.

Newcastle U21s seven side and opposition before the kick-off today

Newcastle won 2-0 with a couple of goals from Sammy Ameobi, against Hong Kong Football Club Captain’s Select side.

And Sammy scored both his goals in the first half in a game which kicked off on Saturday afternoon Hong Kong time – and it was a very comfortable win for our lads in the first group game, and we are the defending team in the annual Citibank Hong Kong Football Club International Soccer Sevens tournament.

Newcastle will play three group games today, and then tomorrow the remaining 16 teams will begin the knockout phase of the tournament.

In the other group game earlier today, Leicester had beaten Southern District, but there was never any doubt about the result with Newcastle looking good and completely dominating the game – we play the other two sides later today.

The Newcastle team was as follows – and it looks a very strong sevens side with lots of experience:

Jak Alnwick, James Tavernier (c), Paul Dummett, Michael Richardson (Steven Logan), Conor Newton (Remie Streete), Bradden Inman, Sammy Ameobi (Rolando Aarons)

Agree! Get them as far away from Pardew as possible.

alnwick will be our no3 next season by the looks of it.
sammy has the quality’s just have to wait and see on him.
inman is an old fashioned rob lee type player not sure if he fits in the team but i do hope so.
remy streete is prob the best cb prospect i’ve ever seen tbh but more bulk on the lad and we could see 1st team appearances in the next few years.
dummet looked class in his loan spell and looked better player than simpson (but that was in scotland)
tav/richardson/newton i dont have high hopes for and not seen enough of others to comment.

but good result for them brings lots of confidence and lets see cambell hopefully come through a bit this season.

Sad state of affairs when you really struggle to pick a player of the season. lol

Voted for Santon because he wasn’t as bad as the rest.

Probably would of voted for Ba if he was on the list.

    Sorry repost!
    Demba ba
He’s my player of the season, atheist he was consistent, not one player on that list has been even slightly consistent

@NUFC_Stats: Only Alan Shearer (6x), Les Ferdinand & Andy Cole managed more goals in one PL season for NUFC than Demba Ba did this campaign! #silly #nufc

i would like to see inman given a chance in the first team in the number 10 role, might aswell see if the person weve been lacking has been under our noses all along before we buy anyone else

also how is vuckic’s injury recovery going does anybody know?

if demba was with us he would have won at a canter and we would have prob finished top ten just shows the club are effing clueless and or have limited ambition

    @11

if that was the case you could say that about 8/10 fans on here who was calling for him to be sold.
just goes to show the fans dont know everything.

Ba wanted to go! It’s not as though we pushed him out of the door. The mistake we made was not improving his contract and deleting the clause that allowed him talking to other clubs if the amount was bid. He was and is a mercenary just like that waste of space Owen. However, we missed him enormously and the club shot themselves in the foot by not having a plan B when we lost Remy.

Geordie-Exile, the.mistake Llambias made was not having Remy signed before Ba talked to Chelsea. It was obvious Ba was ser to go sooner or later.
