Newcastle Move In For Blackpool Winger Tom Ince

There’s a report today in Daily Star that Newcastle are interested in bring Tom Ince to Tyneside.

Tom Ince with that Wonga sign on Blackpool shirt

The 21 year-old son of former Manchester United and England great Paul Ince, has been linked with Newcastle before, and it seems that Blackpool want £6M for the youngster, which doesn’t seem too bad a fee for such a promising English younger, who has 6 caps for the England U21 side.

It’s thought that Thomas would be on his way back to Liverpool this summer, whom he left in August two years ago, when he joined Blackpool.

Since then he has played 88 times for Blackpool with 26 goals, and he is a very skillful winger, and last season he scored 18 goals in 47 appearances for the Tangerines.

Blackpool didn’t have too good a season last term and finished 15th in the Championship,  and sources said to be close to Bloomfield Road say that Newcastle manager Alan Pardew  is keen on the youngster and Newcastle could move in quickly with a £5M bid.

Inter Milan were the other club linked with a possible move for Ince, but we have to hope this story is true, because getting Tom Ince for £5M would be a very good deal for Newcastle, and they could then offset the fee by selling Gabby Obertan and/or Dan Gosling in the summer.

Sounds good to us – what do you think?

Well, I like Ince for 5M a lot better than Carroll for 15M, that’s for sure. But are there better options out there? Ricky van Wolfswinkel, perhaps? But I’ll take Ince for 5M, if we can get him.

Nope, re: above. Norwich got the Wolfman for 10M in March. He joins the Canaries on July 1.

Surfing the web for candidates…mmmm….I like Bony from the Erdivisie best. He’s not as quick as Cisse, but he’s bigger, stronger. Value is 15M, but unless Carr can find another Demba Ba in the rough, we ought to pay up now or risk uncertainty. Bony averaged over a goal a game–knack like that is valuable for sure.

Bony has already stated that he is only interested in joining a Champions League side.

Sign this kid now! Very talented and if it’s only 5-6M it’s a bargain.

To be honest if we sold HBA to buy Ince I would have no problems whatsoever.

I know HBA can be brilliant however but he can also be a liability as he doesn’t know when to pass and gives the ball away far too often. If he was a young kid who we could change I wouldn’t be bothered but for a mature player he’s not going to change.

Ince would help add balance and with Marvaux or Hoilett who I’d also look at he’d be an asset to the team.
