Newcastle target Andreas Wiemann of Aston Villa will be deciding his future this week, as his agents fly in to discuss terms on a new contract with Aston Villa on Tuesday.
Andreas Wiemann – agents meet with Villa this week
The 21 year-old had an excellent season and scored 12 goals in 38 games for Villa, as they just managed to beat the drop, and finally finished just above Newcastle on 41 points, but with a better difference.
Andreas joined Aston Villa as a 17 year-old from home town club Rapid Wien, and has worked his way through the ranks to become a starter for Villa, and he has so far played 79 times for Villa with 19 goals and 5 times for Austria.
Newcastle have been interested in the striker since January, and will be waiting to see if the lad extends his contract this week, and it has just one year to run.
Norwich City are also said to be waiting on the wings, and Sunderland too, as the 21 year-old forward has already turned down one offer to increase his wages from his current £15K/week.
Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert wants to keep the youngster at the club, and he’s made that clear to the Villa Board, and after pulling Villa through a difficult season as manager, we have to think the Villa Board will now back their young manager and give the Austrian a decent contract.
But that would not be good news for Newcastle, who are watching developments and ready to step in to bring the lad to Tyneside, if talks again falter.
Here’s a chance to vote for Player of the Season, if you haven’t already done so.

Comment #287haha Queresma, jesus thats more than a few years ago! He’s 29 now, had talent, still does i suppose, but 1 goal in 22 for Barca, meant he was shipped on did well at Porto, earned a move to inter, loaned to chelsea for a while (did nothing) Moved to Besiktis and then this year he moved to Al Ahli Dubai. 😉 money, money, money!

Comment #292Haha we’re a big big club, and we’ve been lumbered with failure, shackled with mediocrity and poor decisions by the board for years, some day we’ll be where we should. Chat to you again bud 🙂
