Two Clubs Eyeing Newcastle Striker

News today that a couple of Championship clubs could be keen to take Shola Ameobi this summer.

Shola Ameobi – could seek move this summer

There is some uncertainty surrounding the future of Shola at his home town club, and it seems to be coming from the player himself, who not surprisingly wants more playing time, which he will not get at Newcastle in the next couple of seasons.

Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday are the two Championship clubs who are interested in the 31 year-old striker, and Ameobi could do very well in the Championship, with his powerful play up front.

We’ll have to wait and see if Shola wants to leave the club he has played for since 2000, when he made his debut under the great Bobby Robson, when Shola was just 18 years old.

But he has had a chequered career at Newcastle and didn’t play much at all this year, and with Newcastle likely to bring two new strikers in this summer, and Adam Campbell coming through the ranks  quickly – the future doesn’t look all that bright for the big man.

Shola has one year left on his contract,  and Newcastle could probably get up to £2M for their long term striker, and that fee could be used towards the couple of strikers the Magpies want to recruit thuis summer.

What do you think?

Is it not just as simple as saylor writing them down popping them in an envelope addressed to Alan pardews office at st James, and it will find its way there?

    Scout haha 😉

Shire, I love the german way of things, the whole fans own 51% of the club, so decisions are in the games best interests, the emphisis on youth, and making players rather than import them. You know Bayern vs Barca cost £8 to go see. Take a reall look at germany, fa you are a disgrace.

As far as talent goes, Kevin Trapp at Frankfurt, he’s 22, worked through the divisions, and burst out this season, great keeper in the making.

Son Heung-Min at Hamburg has always been touted as a ‘wonderkid’ maybe now the hype has died down he wouldn’t have the big transfer fee, he does have the big potential though 😉

If I was a scout I’d watch the german second division, but at the minute there’s nothing in it for me to do it so I don’t really bother 😉

Ohh Shire, Afriyie Acquah is another one, Palermo got relegated and I was having a look at who they still have, Abel Hernandez (imo very Remy like to put it simply)
Was looking for Acquah’s name, the 21 year old is an explosive, ghanian midfielder, with tremendous stamina and he really tidies up. But he’s already moved to Hoffenheim so expect him to do well in Germany.

Goodbye, Shola unfortunately your time here is over.

Sign up for Boro, it’s not far and you could get a few seasons in the Championship.

Shola has been a loyal player and taken a fair share of stick from fans and critics down the years (along with a sizeable paypacket). I think he has been linked with exits during the reign of most managers at the club yet they have all decided they are better with the big Geordie lad than without. That says something.
I think he gave all he had. maybe not enough but we’ve had a lot worse. Actually, I think the last 3 seasons have been his best. Thanks for the Mackem Memories, if you go.

Two cases of Fosters Beer and you can have him. Dead weight, earning $25k per week, why when we could have someone like Hernandez for similar money or maybe try a loan deal for Hernandez or Lukaku??

Good news as long as we sign the 2 strikers we need (along with 2 CBs, 1 RB, 1 LAM). Campbell should be ahead of this tatey in the pecking order anyway.
