Massive Bid Coming In For Cisse From Top Russian Club

There are reports in Russia’s leading sports daily Izvestia, that Newcastle will be receiving a massive offer for their striker Papiss Cisse, or it could be they have received the offer already.

Papiss Cisse – offer coming in from Anzhi?

At the moment Newcastle have two experienced strikers, Papiss Cisse and Shola Ameobi, and Shola could well be leaving this summer to get more first team games elsewhere, and Newcastle have still to replace Demba Ba , who left for Chelsea in January.

So we are short of strikers right now – and we need two top strikers coming in this summer.

But Izvestia seems to have some inside information on the thinking of Anzhi, who Newcastle beat 1-0 in the two-legged tie earlier this year in the Europa League.

This is what the report said:

“Anzhi is considering buying 27-year-old striker Papiss Cisse.” “Makhachkala are ready to offer around €18M for the transfer of the forward, – a contract with an annual salary of around €3M, which is significantly more than his current salary at Newcastle.”

€18M is around £15.5M, and if we had to hazard a guess, we think Mike Ashley will turn down this offer very quickly – if indeed it comes in – even though it’s a gain of around £6.5M over a short 16 months.

€3M in wages is around £2.6M, which is about £50K/week, which we would expect to be close to what Cisse’s already getting at Newcastle.

There were reports earlier this year that Borussia Dortmund may be after Cisse, to replace their top Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, who will be joining Bayern Munich soon.

We expect some bids coming on for Newcastle’s top players this summer, and it could well be that a bid from Anzhi for Papiss Cisse will be the first one.

Newcastle signed Papiss Cisse from German club SC Freiburg for around £9M a year last January.

What do you think?

The Hedworth hall is a blatant mackem pub who prioritises mackem games on a Saturday afternoon even when they’re playing six miles down the road.

Agreed Big Pappa Cisse, he’s one helluva guy who, given the right support can, has and will score for us. He’s a class act who we need to keep and work around.

    Papisse attack,
You talk about this loan of 130M Ashley gave us,do you think he done this out of the kindness of his heart or do you think it’s because it will save him lots of money in the long run.

    Bit of research;
Makhachkala play at the 15,200-seat Dynamo Stadium
& It is the capital of Dagestan which is pretty much a muslim country – which is not insignificant if they were trying to tempt Cisse away
. . .but M A would want serious money for our only effective striker . . .won’t happen.

Every player has a trigger price and Ashley would probably take £17m – £20m, I know I would – which would be good business. We need quality and £20m plus £10m for Tiote would add great buying power to the transfer kitty !

No way would I sell at that price!! Cisse hasn’t had that bad a season. If you take into account all the wrongly disallowed goals he has been chalked off this season (possibly into double figures) then he would have scored about another 13 EPL goals this season.

It really beggars belief the amount of bad decisions have gone against us this season and especially on Cisse. The poor lad must think the officials are racists and have it in for him lol

Even in the Europa League critical match-changing goals he’s scored have been wrongfully not been given (Benfica anyone).

At 20M I might consider it.

    Jail – re £130 milish
Barclays [ or someone] would have bankrupted the club – F F had mortgaged/ borrowed against future income; MA found that he had bought a lot of hidden debt, for which he was now liable.

Cisse got 13 goals last season and around six or seven which were legitimate.but for various reasons were chalked off as well as several efforts that hit the woodwork or were miraculously cleared off the line..
That’s despite a manager who played him many times on the wing to accommodate first Ba then Shola as well as a non-creative midfield who gave him next to nowt in quality service.
Fortunately he may be able to change his luck next season but unfortunately not his manager.
A forward three of Messi, Lewandowski and Falcao wouldn’t score goals under the negative stance and inept tactics of Pardew.
For that reason we may as well take £15mill for the lad – it can go to pay off more of Ashley’s generous “loans”.

Some good points – but it is not AP’s fault that Cisse runs offside so often and is not in a position to recvieve the ball – as well as being ruled out because he is so quick.

archaeomag – any decent manager would have ironed out his faults by now. Is he a manager and do we have a coaching team?
Cisse plays on the shoulder of the last man in defence – it is up to our midfield, coaches and manager to maximise on that
    speed and ability.

    – well it is ‘true’ [look up M A on wikipedia] – it’s called ‘due diligence’ – you get accountants/lawers to check it all out before you do the deal – bit like buying a house – but if you are a cash buyer you miss out that step!

archaeomag—- i am aware what due diligence is . if this was not carried out , then ashley is not as smart as i thought he was, however , he bought the club for 135M but that is not the amount of debt he had inherited, and as for ash saving the club- if he hadnt bought it – someone else would have . NUFC has been here over 125 years- long before ashley came , it will also be here a long time after he has gone.

I’m really not sure about this one.

I really like Cisse and thought he did well this season considering how utterly pathetic the service to him was! He is a total poacher so what is he gonna do with 20 balls punted above his head in a match?

Yes, he’s offside a lot and does need to refine his runs but when Cabaye plays passes through to him it can be brilliant.

However if someone offers ~25m then I don’t think there’ll even be a conversation, Ashley & Pardew will sell.

I wonder though if Cisse would be reticent to go to Russia (especially Anzhi after the experiences of Eto’o and Roberto Carlos) because of all the racism reports.

Guess we’ll have to wait and see how much they offer. I’ll be really annoyed if they sell him for less than 20m though, that would just be not fighting to keep our good players!

I seriously do not know how people can defend pardew.

You can attack players but you cannot see what pardew is doing wrong?

    Terrible, hopeless subsitutions.

I do not mind hoof ball as long as it gets results but you hve to admit sooner or later the luck will run out or Oppsition will sus you out.

Cabaye, Jonas & sissoko are all playing out of position yet pardew is still better than all other managers.

That Injury list some 1 posted with man days lost was so misleading, 1000 days would have been lost by only counting

Raylor, Vuckic and Gosling Injuries and Shola’s – all squad players at best.

Genuinely think If Raylor was fit we would have even less of Anita and Marveaux and he would have played Raylor CMF.

@Indian – where do you think Cabaye should be playing then?

I do mind Pardew’s brand of hoofing even if it does get results because the performances have been so poor. I don’t know what his game plan is- not a clue what he is even attempting to do!

There is absolutely no team cohesion at all- they look like strangers. To just lump it up every game with players like HBA, Cabaye, Marveaux, Santon etc. is not just irritating but is just ridiculously poor utilisation of players. If all we had were big strong players then you can understand trying to use their strengths but why insist on all this hoofing when the players clearly don’t suit it?

I disagree, I think Cabaye is at his best when he is playing deep, spraying passes, controlling the game and sliding through balls. I think that is where he does his best work.

What on earth makes you want him playing on the right wing?
