Kinnear Has Known Carr For 20 Years – We’re Happy Together

Joe Kinnear will move to Newcastle at the end of this week, and we’re convinced he will give an interview – likely to be a long interview – on nufcTV – but hopefully he will tell us all what he’s going to be doing – and that should be interesting.

graham carr

Graham Carr – still a vital clog on Tyneside – will work closely with Kinnear

Joe knew Chris Hughton when he moved in as manager, and he says he’s also known Graham Carr for 20 years and that the two of them work really well and Joe has been meeting and talking with Graham over the last three days.

This is what Joe said today:

“I’ve been with Graham for the last three days.” “We’ve discussed all the French players and contacts that Graham knows, the players he’s brought in and we’re very happy together.”

“I have known Graham for something like 20 years. He was at Tottenham.” “I know he has a good eye for a player and good contacts. We will go and see as many of these players in action and we will get in as many games as we possibly can.”

“Once we see something that we think is in our budget, we will go for them. It is as simple as that.” “On the other side, if we see things that we believe are not Newcastle, and not good enough for Newcastle, then I will shift them. It is as simple as that.

“I do not want anybody there who is not good enough for Newcastle.”

Hopefully Joe will provide some driving force in bringing some good players to Newcastle – and will work closely with Graham Carr and with Alan Pardew on assessing the strengths of weaknesses of players that are being scouted.

That also goes for players who are already at the club and we now expect more players to leave Newcastle this summer, because as Joe said this morning – “we cannot have mediocre players at a massive club like Newcastle.”

We kind of like that statement.

    No – just don’t understand why the TOON have not made a statement.

    Also arrange a friendly with Braga at home – did not get the date

    Acceptance has set in nothing is gonna change, we were relegated and we accepted it, we just about avoided relegation last season due to Wigan failing to win their games and we accepted it. We broke every record last season and we accepted it when Pardew was retained.

    Kinnear will come in and I guarantee that he will be the manager by Xmas

    Players that aren’t good enough for newcastle? Ameobi, Other Ameobi, Williamson, Gosling, Obertan. Add jonas to that as a player that hasnt played well for over a season! They are the players that should go, unfortunately, it’ll probably be Players like marveaux that go

    I am with Proud – let’s give the guy a chance and see what MA has up his sleeve before we hold the funeral;

    Repost;
    After a restless night I have come to the conclusion that the JK could actually work and may not be as bad as appears on surface.
    This is reliant on JK being kept well away from the media and willing to collaborate rather than dictate.

    Here’s how it goes;
    AP & JK assess the playing staff and determine weak areas (regarding the type of football we want to play).

    Carr continues the role of monitoring and keeping a database of players.

    JK consults with Carr and determines best-fit with expected price range and player profile.

    JK dedicates time watching the short-list in action, doing background checks etc. Targets are then prioritized and sent upstairs for negotiations.

    So AP can concentrate on team affairs and let others find the players he wants. As long as we keep JK away from the team (pref on the road looking at targets) I think we may be OK.

    Let’s face it, MA is no fool and wants to make money so I remain confident he has a workable plan.

    Am I being overly optimistic?

    Tbh I’m more concerned that were relying on a man who claimed the fans won’t accept you unless your a local, like we’re some kind of inbred tribe, is responsible for recruiting are future players

    Jack…bang on the money there m8…but at least one good thing will come out of this…Pardew gets the sack his pathetic performance last year deserved.

    and IMO JFK will do a much better job than Pardew ever did.

    Pardew is unadulterated sh!t and anyone…including JFK…IMO is a step in the right direction

    Not sure why people are getting so upset though.

    Im baffled, confused and keep checking its not april, but until i see how it affects what i see on the pitch on a saturday afternoon im not gonna get too worked up over it.

    Lets be honest llambias has proved himself incompetent of having a plan b in the transfer market, so if kinnear sits quietly in the background, works with pards and carr (and not as almighty lord) we may actually see some progression in the windows.

    The only thing i can see positive about kinnear in that role is that he probably would get at llambias if he wasnt releasing funds more than pardew would. We nust have to hope the attitude he has isnt shown against pardew or we will blow up from the inside.

    Yeah well said, I don’t think it’s worth it at this point to get worked up. I think some of us get into a defeatist attitude – and I’ve heard many say this is the most dire time they have seen as a fan.

    I don’t know if constant uproar or suggesting boycotts would help us at all. And Joe is definitely more strong-spoken than Pardew so maybe that theory will play out!

    In theory yeah, unfortunately he seems to banging out pressers Lola a media wh0re!
    Can’t see him sitting quietly in the background 🙁

    Also a little disturbing fact about him is he’s held a DOF role twice, sacked from the first, the second? Well his first order of business was to demote the manager and appoint himself……..
    Some might have a bit of oh well view, but I’m dreading seeing this relic as manager and heavily disagree with sparky that he would be better….

    Ruddy…take a chill pill mate…you’re starting to sound like a 1950’s miners union rep…there’s nowt we can do to stop anything because unlike Everton who do listen to the fans, we are newcastle and we have an owner that takes a weird pleasure from winding us up as much as he can…but who can blame him.

    So long as the team is kept in the premiership he will continue to piss us off a every opportunity and to be fair Pardew has already proven he wasn’t capable of doing just that unless 18 million was invested in January….so quite rightly he should go.

    Pardew deserves to go and thank god he’s on his way

    “jelous”?

    Hmm, well when you dangle big juicy carrots like that it’s almost too easy to slate you, so for that reason I’m not going to.

    You knew bollocks all about JFK coming to the club, you know bollocks all about player incoming or outgoing, and I’d venture to say that you bollocks all in general.

    I don’t want to start a row, or even a discussion with you, you’d probably find it too taxing, and if I keep directing much more comments your way you may laugh profusely and subsequently be sitting in a pool of your own urine (you should get that checked)

    So, as far as you and I are concerned, I’m simply not going to bother with you, as you’re just a sad deluded little man.

    Obviously its hard to say there is a massive improvement but we’ve all seen the outcome of DL getting involved with transfers, JK is straight to the point and may actually improve our record of getting transfers over the line……or extend them if he starts swearing but I certainly don’t see to many agents out talking the little tinker.
