In our poll about whether Newcastle fans want Joe Kinnear as Director of Football, a massive 88% are saying no – and it looks like Joe will be getting some grief in his new position at Newcastle.
Joe Kinnear – in November of 2009 as Newcastle manager
We must have lost
Joe talked about a possible backlash from fans today:
“If I get grief, that’s fine,””I can take it. I can take grief. I certainly hope I don’t get it. I don’t think there’s any need for it.” “I’m in a role where I only want the best for the club.”
Joe will probably go on nufcTV today and hopefully talk about his role in depth, his relationship with Alan Pardew and Graham Carr, and other things about how he sees his role working.
At the moment fans are confused as to how this thing will work, after the Dennis Wise role as Director of Football was a complete and utter disaster for the club for fourteen months from January of 2008.
And when Dennis quietly left on April Fools Day the following year, Newcastle were in deep trouble as Alan Sharer came in as manager, but he couldn’t save us, and we were relegated.
The fact that we fought against relegation last season doesn’t help the situation either.
You can still vote – it’s always one vote per reader on the site – so we don’t have fans skewing the results with multiple votes.
At the moment, about one in eight fans are in favor of Joe’s appointment.
