Massive Fan Backlash At Kinnear Appointment – Poll Results

In our poll about whether Newcastle fans want Joe Kinnear as Director of Football, a massive 88% are saying no – and it looks like Joe will be getting some grief in his new position at Newcastle.

joe-kinnear-0011

Joe Kinnear – in November of 2009 as Newcastle manager
We must have lost

Joe talked about a possible backlash from fans today:

“If I get grief, that’s fine,””I can take it. I can take grief. I certainly hope I don’t get it. I don’t think there’s any need for it.” “I’m in a role where I only want the best for the club.”

Joe will probably go on nufcTV today and hopefully talk about his role in depth, his relationship with Alan Pardew and Graham Carr, and other things about how he sees his role working.

At the moment fans are confused  as to how this thing will work, after the Dennis Wise role as Director of Football was a complete and utter disaster for the club for fourteen months from January of 2008.

And when Dennis quietly left on April Fools Day the following year,  Newcastle were in deep trouble as Alan Sharer came in as manager, but he couldn’t save us, and we were relegated.

The fact that we fought against relegation last season doesn’t help the situation either.

You can still vote – it’s always one vote per reader on the site – so we don’t have fans skewing the results with multiple votes.

At the moment, about one in eight fans are in favor of Joe’s appointment.

JFK should get rid of players like Mark Williams, Dan Gosley, and Gary Overton. Not to mention Sam Anemone, Barry Ferguson, and Alan Cambridge away on loan.
Keep his bosses Mark Ashford & David Lembaswafer happy!

Jeff is just trolling, ignore him.

Another of Joe Kinnear’s fibs, he claims to have won Manager of the year 3 times. He won it in 94, the LMA Manager of the year, and that is it. The bloke takes Pardews delusions of grandeur, and then multiplies it.

It’s sad that I have to lower my standards to confer with a troll. Anyhow, this is your following lineup?

    krul
    debuchy coloccini mbabu yanga-mbiwa
    tiote
    raylor jonas
    sissoko
    carroll bent

Krul is anybodies choice. The back four is fine aside from Mbabu, throwing a young 17 year old I believe into the premier league against the best strikers in the world is not a good thing to do. Give him a loan first.

Tiote, Raylor and Jonas would be one of the most hardworking midfields around, except absolutely dreadful at creating anything at all. The addition of Sissoko at CAM in his wrong position wouldn’t help anything as well.

Carroll and Bent are decent strikers, however Cisse is a hell of a lot better. I could genuinely see this team being in a relegation spot each and every season.

Ed dude, was Maths your strong field 😉 That looks more like about 1 in 9.

From what JK has been saying, he’s a real nutter, more so than last time around! He says everything he’s not supposed to say!!

    Anyway, should be fun.

Didn’t think I’d say this, but I feel for AP.

So far Ashley has taken out £15million, and put in around £160million.

By all means bash him for whatever you want, but try make it correct rather than inventing stuff.

Far from a tactical genius, just not a troll. Cool story about the ginger thing as well, nice fact for me to find out.

It’s nothing to do with picking favorites, it’s picking the best players we have and if they’re not on form replacing them with ones that are a similar quality for example if Cisse is playing badly don’t play him next game and start Gouffran etc.

The matter of the fact is you’ve cut out width out of the team, resulting in Mbiwa and Debuchy to be targeted down the flanks. You’re playing players out of position. You’re starting players after looking at them on youtube, baring in mind they have no premier league experience in the slightest. You’re starting arguably four CDM’s, where do you expect the goals to come from?

    Troll.

    gloom, doom and newcastle united.
what is ashleys aim here? for me it can only be one of three things.
    a) insurance if he sacks pardew
    2) he dosnt trust carrs opinion so he needs someone to verify signings.
    c. there has been a difference of opinion between pardew and carr over signings and he has been brought in to rule one way or another.

however our problems remain in my eyes, pardew can not get the best out of this or indeed any team. and to trust jfk’s knowledge of the game with a win ratio of 23% is clinically insane.

Would be interesting to hear AP himself talk about this crazy appointment.

I was one of the people suggesting AP needed help, but more in the line of a European coach who understood modern football. This guy surely does not have any qualifications! Spokesman? 🙂 Transfers 🙂 PR 🙂 🙂

You know, you actually need to get the ball into good positions for the strikers to score? Bent and Carroll aren’t the type of players that create things themselves, similarly to Cisse they thrive on chances being made for them. Herp derp.

    Spoof

I don’t know if he’s worse or not. Dennis Wise genuinely thought what he was doing was good, whereas Jeff is just pretending to do it.

Reading JFK`s comments it`s almost like he thinks it given that problems will arise. Why is he mentioning possible problems at all? Maybe he knows himself too well?

He`s onto a good start with his claim to be the most knowledgeable in football at NUFC. And the bit about Alan still having some catching up to do after his Manager of The Year award was totally uncalled for.

But maybe he`ll suprise us all.

    The second coming….

    Joe Kinnear
(NEARLY the same initials as Kevin Keegan)
(NEARLY as long in the game as Sir Alex Ferguson)
(NEARLY had a good idea in 1971
    – a song called “nice one Cyril! “)
VERY much the man to take us on to the next level – which with Joe will be insanity.

I struggle to see him conversing meaningfully with “fellow ” Anglo-Saxons…the very best of luck to any language interpreters trying to re-assemble his non-sensical ramblings into anything coherent…

Perhaps that up-and-coming youngster Jimmy Greaves should start hanging around the ground in case JK struggles to get along with “Andy Pardew”….

    GeordieMark,
Even if had done due diligence, then the money would still have needed to be paid off, not doing it doesn’t make any difference in terms of that.

It isn’t more than 15million, the figures are released annually, all you have to do is look at them and see.

He has done plenty of things for people to have a go at him for without resorting to making stuff up.

Not only was the Manager of the Year jibe uncalled for, it is also a lie. He won the LMA award once in 1994. So I’m not sure what the other 2 fictional awards he thinks Pards needs to catch up.

    GeordieMark,
I’m not questioning his ambition, or anything else. He makes big money from his other businesses. Not from Newcastle, although he derives benefits via the advertising.

Like I said knock him as much as you want, but stick to things he has actually done, not stuff that has no founding.
