Yohan Cabaye has certainly not quelled the rumors that he may be moving to Monaco this summer, after there was a false report a couple of days ago that he had even passed his medical at the French League club.
Yohan Cabaye – Monaco might interest everyone
Sky Bet have suspended all betting on which club Cabaye will likely move to after some big bets were placed on the 22 times French International moving to Monaco, but it’s not clear whether those punters knew of something really happening or not.
Cabaye is almost definitely on Monaco’s hit list for the summer, and when asked about their interest in the Sun today – this is what Yohan said:
“Monaco have the means to build a strong team,” “It might interest everyone.”
Monaco have already brought in three players for a total cost of £110M – Radamel Falcao, Joao Moutinho, James Rodriguez – Michel Platini – UEFA President – where are you?
The Russian Billionaire in charge at Monaco since November of 2011, Dmitry Rybolovlev, has also added former Chelsea and real Madrid veteran defender Ricardo Carvalho – who has massive experience.
Dmitry Rybolovlev is making a mockery of the Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules, where clubs are only supposed to spend what they make as a club – so how come Monaco have so much money to spend, after being down in the French second division for two years?
It’s the Russian’s money of course, but if the FFP rules are going to work, then the UEFA President should at least contact the Russian and remind him that clubs who fail to balance their books in a year or two will not be allowed to play on Europe.
Monaco’s aim is to qualify for the Champions League as soon as possible – and it seems by any means possible.
If Monaco can come up with £25M for the Newcastle play-maker we think he will leave, although our new Director of Football Joe Kinnear says he’s confident the player will remain on Tyneside.
Cabaye has played 73 times for Newcastle in the two seasons he’s been on board, and has 11 goals and 11 assists – and although he did not play well over the last three months of the season, the former Lille man is still a very good player for Newcastle.
