If we are to believe press reports coming in, then Joe Kinnear will today be confirmed as Newcastle’s new Director of Football, and Newcastle have handled this thing very badly – although maybe it was just Joe who simply couldn’t keep quiet about it.
Joe Kinnear – when appointed interim manager in 2008
Just how he will be able to keep secret, the players Newcastle will be going after, in his new role as Director of Football – we have no idea.
Press Association Sport is reporting the announcement will be made today, and we suppose it can come at any time – and it’s such a shame that Joe has been blathering about everything these last 36 hours – and he’s managed to lose almost all credibility with Newcastle fans.
What we hope Joe does is to give an intelligent interview on nufcTV – but only talk about what his job will be, and how he will work closely with current manager Alan Pardew and Chief Scout Graham Carr for the betterment of the team.
Behind the scenes, we would expect him to be told to cut out the nonsense that’s been coming out of his mouth since Sunday evening, when he told the world he was Newcastle’s new Director of Football and Newcastle fans have been in complete and utter shock ever since.
We didn’t deserve this – we don’t deserve Joe.

I can see it now come August. We will have made no significant signings and lost a few of our purples, but hey it doesn’t really matter because the Club will announce that the JFK saga was never real!
Or
We are now plundering the market, when everyone else is distracted by this fiasco!

Comment #3i think if JFK wants to get on the good side of us fans he needs to do the following —-
sell — Shola, Gosling, Obertan, Jonas, Willo, Perch.
bring in — Sakho, Pea, De Jong, Martens, Gamiero & Falcao ( sorry lads i had to put that in lol )

Comment #5It’s clearly a ploy to get fans back on side with pardew as what pardew says is unsufferable (“thank god we are not in europe”) but compared to this fool Pardew seems an absolute genius and decent bloke with a good football brain.
Joe kinnear said he had never been sacked, well he was sacked by luton after only 3 months

Comment #7I say give him a chance.
Sure he’s b3llend but if he gets us players in I couldn’t give two craps. Mind you, I think he needs to learn our players names.
Yohan Cebab is an absolute disgrace and will not help him wanting to stay.

If he is the head of the fan club maybe you should ask him a few things about stuff then, at least you would be able to get your facts right on here.
As for me being your dad, I highly doubt it, although 12 would be about the right age for when I was in Asia for a while.

Comment #15I absolutely hate kinnear, worse guy in football in my opinion, had a few dealings with him when he was at Wimbledon but the reason I don’t like him is his arrogance, all you saying about not getting names correct, I can’t remember wor robby bobson getting hardly any names right lol

What an absolutely mental 48 hrs.
Spiced my silly season right up. Who says it’s all doom and gloom supporting the Toon eh? This has been hilarious haha.
(Once the shock subsided).
I just hope this plan pays off. If it dosn’t, where really in bother with Joe at the helm.

Comment #29Haven’t posted on here for a while but like many I’ve been so incensed by this I had to vent my frustration.
Everything this guy has said since his “appointment” has been nothing short of shambolic with the exception of “Cabaye (Kebab?) is going nowhere.” Although whether he’s talking about our midfielder or his favourite local takeaway remains to be seen.
Lie #1: “I’m in the best physical shape I’ve ever been in.” He’s a 66-year old ex-international footballer who had a triple heart bypass 4 years ago… Come off it.
Lie #2: “I signed Tim Krul.” Krul was signed in 2005 (by Souness I think?) and was on loan at Carlisle whilst Joe was in charge in 2009.
Lie #3: “I’ve never been relegated as manager”. Yes you have. Luton, 2001.
Lie #4: “I can open the door to any manager in the Premier League.” After these latest developments I’d be surprised if any even gave him the time of day. Fergie has retired and does he really expect us to believe that he has been in contact with him week in, week out for the past 20 years?
Lie #5: “I made over 400 appearances for Spurs.” More like 258. Perhaps he’s including reserves appearances or something but I doubt it and no other ex-professional would count those.
Lie #6: “I have more intelligence than any of the Newcastle fans.” At least we know our players’ names. Anyone who listened to the interview last night will have also realised his vision for transfers is hardly groundbreaking- “in my opinion, we need a striker.” That’s no different to what any Newcastle fan has been saying for months.
The list could go on and on I would imagine. The guy has signed 54 players in his managerial career but not one of them has been French so bang goes our current transfer model. The stuff he’s spouting is making a mockery of our club and the sooner the club comment on this and clarify the situation, the better.
A Director of Football might be appropriate for us but surely not this guy- he’s been out of the game 4 years and has, I would imagine little to no knowledge of current players- evidenced by him rattling off a list of players he signed in the 90s.
He’s out of touch with the modern game and I can see him upsetting a lot of our players (if he hasn’t already). This can’t be a good thing.along our club look like a joke and I don’t take kindly to that.
The club need to reassure us what exactly his role will entail so we don’t have a repeat of the Keegan-Wise debacle. It’s bad news when anyone is handed powers usually held by the manager. Whilst I’m by no means Pardew’s biggest fan, the transfers he has made (no doubt largely thanks to Carr) have been shrewd and not problematic, why on earth does Ashley think Kinnear can do a better job? They need to gag him ASAP- he’s an embarrassment to himself and our club currently. If he lets his work do the talking instead of his big mouth I’ll reconsider my opinion. But until then, the man is a damn fool.

Comment #30Another day in the world of pantomime namely NUFC , how much more can us loyal and intelligent supporters have to put up with. We are a laughing stock of the PL
Why would MA employ JFK a nobody who has illusions of grandeur, who tells more lies than AP.
Sorry fellow bloggers, but I’ve had enough, 60 years waiting for us to do something worthwhile (except the KK era) I have finally accepted that my time following our great team is now over. My loyalty to this great team who have been supported and loved by generations of my family has now gone.
Thank you MA you have really ballsed up my life, I hate you with a passion and all you so called cockney mafia. See you all in hell.

His comments have been brilliant and promising? I am assuming your referring to the one about the striker that we need…. which by the way we all know we needed since ba’s departure because all the other dribble that has escaped his poor excuse for a mouth has been total and utter bollox mate! please enlighten me as to which comments you are referring to?

Comment #37Cant believe that this hasn’t be on the boil for a good long while, it didn’t just happen overnight sure this a way to try to get Pardew to walk away.Is this why we’ve been quiet on the transfer front, how long before Kinnear starts bringing in some of his passed by sell date cronies? If I was one of the coaches at the Toon I would be very, very worried.after all Kinnear himself said that he was brought in to look at all aspects why we have so many injuries, the coaching set up,& the academy. Look out for some heads rolling.
