NUFC Fans United Take Lead On Kinnear Affair

9:38 am, Saturday, June 22nd, 2013 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 20 Comments

The NUFC Fans United organization negotiated with Newcastle United officials and Sir John Hall to get the iconic front gates restored and reinstalled at St. James Park, and that was all announced last week, and since that time we’ve been in touch with the fans’ organization.

Joe Kinnear – appointment has angered fans

From what we can tell they seem to be the organization needed to communicate effectively and professionally with Newcastle officials, and there’s a meeting arranged for next Monday night to discuss the Joe Kinnear appointment with Newcastle officials.

There’s been some terrible communication between fans and the club since Mike Ashley took over the club six years, and much more communication is needed, although the exchanges of opinions and the discussions have to be done calmly and professionally – however annoyed Newcastle fans may be.

The Monday night meeting starts at 6 pm at Newcastle Labour Club in the city center, so if you can attend please do.

Otherwise you can go to the NUFC Fans United web-site, and email questions you would like put to the Newcastle officials at the meeting – the email ID  is nufcfansutd@gmail.com.

There’s also a place on the web-site to join the organization and it doesn’t cost anything.

NUFC Fans United are merely providing a forum for good effective communication between fans and the club, and it’s something that’s desperately needed.

If the meeting is a success, we’re sure future  meetings between the fans and the club will be possible – and that has to be the goal.

Comments welcome.

This is more like it! This is exactly what is needed! Lets get some answers to why we can’t do things properly!

Typical Pardew to oh so conveniently blame Kinnear and Carr for players possibly leaving. Of course it’s got absolutely nothing to do with his awful, clueless, static negative tactics and hoof ball.

Carr would never recommend the likes of Bent and Tomkins.

I’d still want Pardew out before JFK who hopefully will not be around too long

    Rotunda

Is it a direct quote (doubtful) or from a ‘source’ within the club – in other words more media mischief making.

Get a grip guys worry about it IF there are any transfer requests put in. Our french players are probably more used to dodgy/eccentric board members than we are.

rotonda chance the record man, you’ve been stuck on that tune for weeks. we got the point 1st time.

  • 5 seasons // Jun 22, 2013 at 9:56 AM

    chance = change

Typical Rotonda to oh so conveniently latch on to any press reports to attack Pardew. Pardew has not opened his mouth all week. How do you know he blames Carr for players leaving ? You can see players not being happy at JFK performance but what has Carr got to do with it?

  • 7 Hatem's better than Messi // Jun 22, 2013 at 10:06 AM

Ashley isn’t going to listen to the fans … the PR team will attempt to spin this and placate the fans but nothing will change.

  • 8 Hatem's better than Messi // Jun 22, 2013 at 10:09 AM

I’m with Rotonda … Pardew sucks.

On last years efforts and the way the youngsters are progressing the whole coaching staff sucks.

    Clear the lot out.

I’d be interested to know which club officials’ll take part in the discussion. Can’t see Kinnear being there neither will Ashley. That being so, there’ll be nobody with any influence to hear fans’ thoughts although the event will attract much media interest.

It’s just a pity that Kinnear was appointed. However, it’s happened and I just hope that Ashley keeps him on a tight leash and sees through him before any more damage is done.

Fans meeting – top idea shame I’m not living nearer, could be interesting.

  • 11 HullMag6 // Jun 22, 2013 at 10:17 AM

They could send Carver and an exec (Irving?) or is that too hopeful?

Too much media led lunacy on here, all reports like many Jfk comments should be taken with a large pinch of salt.

Its the same crap every year to sell more tickets and we fall for it every year. Ma will never listen to the fans coz it would cost him money if he did.

  • 13 magicbus // Jun 22, 2013 at 10:18 AM

Would have preffered Glenn Hoddle to have been approached before Harpic ( clean round the bend )

  • 14 sparky55 // Jun 22, 2013 at 10:18 AM

The sad thing is there are fans out there that genuinely think having this meeting will actually make a difference…IMO you’re sadly mistaken…you’re just rising to the bait and wasting you’re time.

I honestly don’t understand what the big deal is here…Ashley has always done whatever we wants irrespective of what the fans think so why do you think it’ll change now.

The clubs obviously got some internal issues that need sorting and Fat boy has sent someone in to sort it.

Why not see if he can sort it before the need of an up-rising.

How can anyone claim this is a media generated storm in a teacup apart from the most deluded Ashley hangers on?
It was a totally arbitrary decision by a completely arrogant dictator in appointing an offensive dinosaur to, as Bills puts it, apparently “mediate” that triggered all this!!!
Many of these so called southern hacks, are actually respected ex players and journos with a real interest in and love for the club – I know that, as I’ve talked with Ian Murtagh and such like.
It is however, near the mark when someone claimed that most outside the region don’t care and have no interest in internal affairs at NUFC – that is because we are a provincial irrelevance in footballing terms and that is solely down to the last six years of incompetent stewardship at the top which has bred apathy and a horrible insidious tendency towards compliance, no matter what crime is committed.
Anyone who really cares about this club and wants change – I urge you to go to this meeting on Monday and do something to stop these people taking the Michael out of the club and the city.

The worst part of being a fan of NUFC is MA, he never fails to let us down from his strange decisions to refusing to speak to the fans. He obviously doesn’t give a toss as long as he’s getting our money.

  • 17 Marty-Toon // Jun 22, 2013 at 10:25 AM

Just a typical day in the life of a Toon supporter having to put up with lots of tosh.
Really disheartening and that says a lot after last seasons diabolical showing.
Poor manager, owner that as cash and buys great players but continuously puts his foot in it and shoves our faces in it.
Then we get JK the clown back although I’d rather him tan DL any day as he’s a football man, just no brain when talking to the press.

    When will we learn?
Maybe Wor Alan can team up with a few ex pros and Geordie celebraties ,plus the fans to buy this fool out of the club :-)
    Now that’s wishful thinking

  • 18 solano // Jun 22, 2013 at 10:30 AM

Having been to some of fansutsd meetings and met some interesting and passionate fans, I know they have had dialogue with the PR head (Wendy Taylor) and had some progress on minor issues – however they’ve been banging their heads against a brick wall trying to get ‘lines of communication’ with the owner and his minions and that is simply because there are no lines of communication between Miss Taylor and the owner – she knew nothing of the latest changes until last Sunday morning!
Fans need to turn up and have their say and get something cobbled together to say they’ve had enough and will fightback – I hope NUFC fans utd listen and take up a very just cause and fight for respect.

@ 5 year plan. Hasn’t he done that ? I mean 3 relegation scraps one relegation inconsistency and one good premier finish along with making us the laughing stock stadium naming etc the man is a disaster… If thats as good as he can do it proves the club needs financial input a proper owner that would employ men for their abilities not on which village they live in or casino they owe

    Get Some Balls

Ashley has the right to do what he wants with his club, his money, he has the power.

We have power but we don’t have the balls, to take him on because we love our club. His love is sport direct and money, helped by 52,000 mad nufc fans.
