Pardew Fears Star Exodus After Kinnear Comments

12:29 am, Saturday, June 22nd, 2013 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 85 Comments

We had heard that Yohan Cabaye, who is currently on vacation with his wife in St. Tropez, was very unhappy at Joe Kinnear’s comments last Monday night, when he stupidly mispronounced the names of many Newcastle’s stars, including Yohan’s name.

yohan cabaye 321

Yohan Cabaye – furious at Joe Kinnear’s comments

But we didn’t realize that Yohan was furious with Kinnear’s comments, which is being reported in the Daily Mail today.

Yohan has been linked with a number of clubs already this summer, including mega rich French clubs – PSG and Monaco, and from some of Yohan’s comments, he wouldn’t mind joining either of those two clubs.

It’s really unbelievable the damage that Joe has caused, but it seems that Mike Ashley has closed him down – so to speak – since the end of that awful and embarrassing talkSPORT interview on Monday night.

It gives an extra challenge to manager Alan Pardew to try to settle down Yohan Cabaye and other French players when they report back to training in July.

But Kinnear is in charge of who goes and who stays at the club, that’s his new job, and he has already said that Yohan is going nowhere – but if Cabaye is turned off by Kinnear, the Frenchman may well try to force a move away from Tyneside.

And reports that Ben Arfa (or should we say Ben Afra) will be sold are unlikely to be true, although it seems very possible that Joe will try to move out players this summer who he feels are not just good enough.

That will hardly include Ben Arfa, who is a huge fan favorite.

And Joe has already called off the chase for Brazilian center-back Douglas, but who our number one target will be – we don’t know – since Alex Pearce singed a new contract with Reading for two years today.

So our article yesterday that he could become Newcastle’s number one center-back target was wrong – so maybe we are going after James Tomkins?

Your guess is as good as ours, but having Joe Kinnear make things so much worse at Newcastle in a couple of days earlier this week – is completely unacceptable – and his talents are simply not worth the huge baggage he brings to Newcastle.

Pity Mike Ashley couldn’t admit his huge mistake and terminate Joe’s contract tomorrow – that would work.

Comments welcome.

i think in all fairness our top players need to move on, there’s no ambition at this club anymore and the players must see this and wanting out.

Our last published turnover was 93.6m
    Sports direct was 1.8b.
This is why mashley doesn’t care about us and just uses us as a professional poster for sports direct.
Probably why he employed JFK. To keep people talking about us and keeping him and his businesses in the news.
He is the biggest problem at the club and the root of all evil.

This blog is a news website. Keep an eye on your own intelligence eh..

Our only hope is that our players see what kind of idiot this bloke is.

What they are really going to look at though is the owner? It’s inevitable.

This could well be fatal. Any players who had doubts will be instructing their agents.

There is no way on this earth i’d want to be at a football club with this kind of owner. If i was a pro of course.

Just take a look at other clubs in and around the Prem. who would put up with this nonsence?

And yet, I here shouts fot the manager still.

What is going on with Ed and all this Kinnear hatred, it’s as if Kinnear had punched Ed in the face and he can’t let go of it, Ed is being quite biased which then only adds fuel to the madness of many on the blog

  • 16 workyticket // Jun 22, 2013 at 2:29 AM

Ed, are you a Newcastle United fan? Or are you a fan of the media parasites who wamt to spread as much dischord as possible at Newcastle United with these secondhand untruths you persist in publishing as if they are facts?

    Make your mind up.

  • 17 Toon-Prodigy // Jun 22, 2013 at 2:37 AM

    Don’t even bother.

Your hatred towards Pardew and the effort involved to dismantle and split the support was totally unwarranted from January or maybe even earlier. I fail to see the articles you printed are a “means” of “support”.

    You make your mind up.

At least there is a balanced argue on this website.

  • 20 Mister Tuff // Jun 22, 2013 at 2:53 AM

Ed does not need to spread any dischord – it’s already been done by Joking Joe – as a consequence of being hired by El Gourdo. There will be more to come.

  • 21 Tommyy // Jun 22, 2013 at 2:58 AM

Sod it, we’ll see what happens. We can’t get any worse right? I just want to see some football now, I’m bloody starved!

  • 22 jonobbad // Jun 22, 2013 at 3:25 AM

And what if ‘what happens’ is our top players leaving and we get sucked into a relegation battle?
12 months ago we were all looking up, feeling ambitious and excited about the future of our club.
We have been set back quite a bit by last season but this could set us back, and by an even bigger margin.

  • 23 Tommyy // Jun 22, 2013 at 3:40 AM

Who knows until it happens? You could turn that thought on its head and it makes it null and void right? We just don’t know.

  • 24 Tommyy // Jun 22, 2013 at 3:43 AM

‘This COULD set us back’ hypothetical talk is all we have at the moment. What we had last season wasn’t working, we’ve changed it (not for the better) and we’ll have to see what happens.

I don’t agree with the appointment but it’s done, I want a technical coach but that doesn’t look like happening.

  • 25 jonobbad // Jun 22, 2013 at 4:38 AM

I have no crystal ball and can’t claim to see the future.
However employing someone to buy players when he doesn’t know many modern players (how else would he get so many names wrong is such a short space of time) is suicide and more than likely going to blow up in our face.
Some fans are prepared to wait and let that happen. Others just want him out now which will definitely prevent it.
It might not with him their ( I think it will) but it definitely can’t happen if he’s there.
Also we are giving pardew an excuse. If we have another bad season it’ll be jobs fault and all the delusional fans will be saying ‘let’s give him a couple of months next year’
    Never ending.

  • 26 jonobbad // Jun 22, 2013 at 4:39 AM

  • 32 Jail for Ashley // Jun 22, 2013 at 7:12 AM

I wish people wouldn’t compare SBRs numerous slip ups with the snidey veiled digs of Joe Kinnear, imo he has deliberately set out to undermine the players he would like to see put in a transfer request that would see Mike Ashley save millions in pay outs if a player were simply sold.

  • 34 sparky55 // Jun 22, 2013 at 7:20 AM

This is a case of pardew covering his own arse…Pards had already lost Cabaye and he was going a long time before JFK rode into town.

Pardew had already lost a large proportion of the dressing room

    The blame games have started

Nowt to get upset about in my book

  • 37 jonobbad // Jun 22, 2013 at 7:33 AM

So how do you know cabaye was long gone. As far as I’m aware he is our player and still hasn’t come back from holiday yet. So your statement is purely speculation.
I think players may leave but I don’t think cabaye is one of them.

I don’t believe any info from them but I don’t mind them posting it as long as they don’t follow up conversations with their bit of gossip, proclaiming it as fact. A couple on here do that.

  • 38 Jail for Ashley // Jun 22, 2013 at 7:40 AM

    Mr Funk,
Lies and deceit are very much part of the murky world of conspiracy and since Mike Ashley has been here there have been enough mistruths and deception to fuel the least imaginitive minds.

  • 39 sparky55 // Jun 22, 2013 at 7:41 AM

jonobad…and I think he will leave and I think Pardew lost the dressing room last year because of his shit tactics and shit set up and shit style of play which resulted in any player of any class being excluded from having the ball delivered to their feet.

So I guess we disagree…which is fine…and I think you’re living in LALA land if you’ve been able to completely ignore all the speculation about Cabaye leaving which started long before JFK arrived…so I think you’re as wrong as wrong can be.

    Keep the faith

  • 40 Jail for Ashley // Jun 22, 2013 at 7:50 AM

I enjoy a majority of your posts but I wish you could see that there were a lot of factors in our demise last season rather than the simpistic view of Pardew is sh1t.

  • 41 sparky55 // Jun 22, 2013 at 7:57 AM

Jail…feeling is perfectly mutual but at the end of the day I really can’t see past the fact last years squad was the same as the one that finished 5th except for the potential improvement that was Anita who pards refused to play.

The big difference in those two seasons IMO was the style of play…the players we had in 2011 were suited to the 4-3-3, the same players were not suited to 4-4-2 and that IMO opinion the blame for all that lies at the door of pardew.

We played reserves in the cup qualifiers, and the squad had been significantly improved by the knock out stage and we still went backwards due to set up and mental approach of the manager.

I do concede Ashley and Lambias made mistakes not strengthening last summer but at the end of the day Ashley has helped us put together an excellent squad and all we need now is better manager to help that squad reach their full potential.

  • 42 archaeomag // Jun 22, 2013 at 8:03 AM

errr . . It was a satirical reference to JFK’s rant about his critics – nowt personal like!

  • 43 Jail for Ashley // Jun 22, 2013 at 8:09 AM

I could explain what my reasons were for our failure and I certainly don’t absolve Pardew of any blame but we would be going over trodden ground, maybe this latest act of madness by Mashley will see us come up trumps and Ashley s dwindling supporters can say I told you so, we can all turn on Londoner and club legend Rob Lee today as well as he has given an interveiwing describing us as a laughing stock in the Sun, maybe TDsarf will claim he is a d1ck as well.

  • 44 BandB // Jun 22, 2013 at 8:16 AM

Isn’t it always the case with nutcase regimes that they try they try to blame dissent on the plots and conspiracies of traitors within and evil outside intervention?
Pardew comes out with this line about losing his best players EVERY transfer window. Why should it not be true this time?
It’s meant to signal to the fans that he doesn’t approve, and to everyone else that the shop is open for business, and on this occasion, that we have unsettled players to boot.
Sparky is right. Pardew is covering his bases, and is probably acting under instruction in the same clumsy way Stevie Taylor does. The club’s motto should be: “Pee up their backs and tell them its raining.” Cabaye and Ben Arfa will leave if MA gets his reserve price for them, and not otherwise. And the club will spin it that Mike Ashley has once again rooted out the trouble makers.

  • 55 Toon-Prodigy // Jun 22, 2013 at 8:42 AM

    Nar man Sparky,

You take three of your best players out the side at once or whatever and we are going to struggle man.

Sammy Ameobi? Ferguson? Tavernier? Williamson? Obertan? Shola Ameobi?

It was never going to work man. The season had failure written all over it before a ball was kicked. I don’t even know how we have managed to make the quarters of the Europa Cup. That’s a miracle in itself.

We did not suffer anywhere near the amount of injuries the season before and the timing and lay off times were nout like it. for the most part we had a good lengthy consistent starting eleven the season before and two quality strikers in Ba and Cisse.

We only had one goal scorer at the club from January man?

How desperate is that? If the Simplest of injuries hit Cisse in the last 10 games we would be down. Thats how shit we were set up man.

Give Pardew a break man, he has been shit on from a monumental height and it all stemmed from last summer.

Your frustration right now should be well and truly pointed upstairs, yet you are slandering a manager who is still being treated like shit.

Can anyone give me a link to the interview where Pardew has said he fears ‘an exodus of top players’ or where Cabaye has said he is ‘furious’ at his name being mispronounced? No? I wonder why….

The hysteria, doom and comedy club atmosphere surrounding Kinnear’s appointment is similar to the reaction when Carroll was sold. Then it was ‘selling club Newcastle’ ‘no ambition Ashley’ ‘player exodus follows’ ‘Carlton Cole replacement’ ‘going down next season’ blah, blah, hacky, hacky, blah.

What happened – none of our top players were sold against their will, none asked for a transfer, we signed Ba and Cisse not Carlton Cole – and we finished 5th the following season.

So who were the jokers? NUFC or the fkn genius’s who came out with that sh!t or the fans who believed it all? Not a hard question to get right eh?

And here we go again after JK’s appointment….

I said last night on heure that by far the greatest damage being done to our club is not from JK’s interview but the millions of words of hacky tabloid and anti-Ashley trash spouted non stop over the past week.

It sickens me to the core that so many fans believe so much of this sh!te – deliberately put out to make us a joke club – despite their being not a shred of hard fact behind 99% of it.

Show me the links to what Pardew, Carr, Llambias, Cabaye and Ben Arfa have supposedly said – then I’ll believe it.

Until then – fk off and stop doing your best to destroy our club.

I am both positive and realistic…this season holds no fear for me…There’s no way Ashley will allow us to flirt so closely with relegation again…the clubs value is worth too much to him.

I can’t stand Ashley as a fella, but huge respect for the businessman who’s prepared to make unpopular decisions to make things work for him.

I don’t get the JFK appoint at all but Ashleys no idiot and there was obviously an issue between Pards and Carr and Lambias so he’s put someone in he trusts to get to the truth in an attempt to sort it out.

IMO we will lose some key players this year but Ashley will replace them and nett strengthen the squad by at least two players and we will do much better than last year…but IMO there will be lots of movement this summer.

Not hard is it. Especially if you aren’t blinded by Ashley hatred.

I actually think that one of the good things to come out of this will be that Ashley’s determination to prove the hacks and critical fans wrong will have been redoubled.

I’ve answered your questions – you answer mine.

  • 73 sparky55 // Jun 22, 2013 at 9:17 AM

Arch…I think JFK’s just in there to sort out a couple of specific issues and then he’ll be gone…I don’t think he’ll still be there this time next year irrespective of his three year deal…it’s loose change in the scheme of things and I think he’s given JFK all the powers he has so the mess can be sorted before the season starts again.

It’s just payback for taking over from Keegan and then suffering the heart attack…IMO it’s a short term thing for sure

Yes Bills I do and I can’t say I’m happy with it and don’t remind me of Douglas Halls NOTW embarrassment, but whatever the media are doing it was completely fuelled by the unprofessional and classless manner in which JFK was reintroduced in to the footballing world, whether or not Mike Ashley is to blame for that is irrelevant but it sums up his shambolic six year ownership.

Ashley wants mid table minimum as I see it.

How can anyone claim this is a media generated storm in a teacup apart from the most deluded Ashley hangers on?
It was a totally arbitrary decision by a completely arrogant dictator in appointing an offensive dinosaur to, as Bills puts it, apparently “mediate” that triggered all this!!!
Many of these so called southern hacks, are actually respected ex players and journos with a real interest in and love for the club – I know that, as I’ve talked with Ian Murtagh and such like.
It is however, near the mark when someone claimed that most outside the region don’t care and have no interest in internal affairs at NUFC – that is because we are a provincial irrelevance in footballing terms and that is solely down to the last six years of incompetent stewardship at the top which has bred a fanbase that is riddled with apathy and a horrible insidious compliance.

@ 5 year plan. Hasn’t he done that ? I mean 3 relegation scraps one relegation inconsistency and one good premier finish along with making us the laughing stock stadium naming etc the man is a disaster… If thats as good as he can do it proves the club needs financial input a proper owner that would employ men for their abilities not on which village they live in or casino they owe

Kinnear football brain ? Is it the same joke in here that had us hurtling towards the fizzy league ? I wouldn’t trust him to attract a good class of player and this after all is big part of his job. No way this works joking Ashley man get out

    Don’t even bother.

Your hatred towards Pardew and the effort involved to dismantle and split the support was totally unwarranted from January or maybe even earlier. I fail to see the articles you printed are a “means” of “support”.”

To be exact, it was from the day he was appointed, Toon-Prodigy. He’s a lousy, divisive, dishonest manager who blames everyone, and everything but himself for his incompetence. Llambias was a complete and utter fool for sacking Hughton and bringing him in. If it wasn’t for Pardew, there would be no Kinnear but Ashley still doesn’t seem to realise what the real problem is yet.
