Joe Kinnear Interviewed Again – Even More Trouble Ahead

We thought Joe Kinnear would keep quiet to let things settle down on Tyneside, but he hasn’t heeded that advice, and he’s been interviewed again in the Sunday Times today, and this time he slags off Alan Shearer.

joe-kinnear-with-calderwood-_1373486c

Joe Kinnear with Colin Calderwood in 2009

This is what Joe has said today – more controversial comments – this time directed at the Newcastle legend:

“What Shearer says is diabolical.” “This is a guy who hasn’t got a clue about coaching.” “The last game of the 2008-2009 season he came up with the master idea of playing Damien Duff at left-back.”

“Damien is one of the best left-wingers in the business, but can’t tackle. And we went down with an own goal from Damien.” “Shearer keeps slagging me off. He is being disrespectful to me. I am entitled to fight back.”

This is what we just don’t like about Joe, he’s abrasive and he’s never liked Alan Shearer – maybe because Alan is popular with Newcastle fans, and Joe isn’t.

But this is one reason we think this guy is going to cause more trouble than enough at Newcastle – and we were hoping he would lie low and not give any more interviews.

Things have been relatively quiet since Joe stopped talking, but this is going to be the big headlines again in the press, and it doesn’t make Newcastle look good.

And Alan Shearer would be well advised not to get into a tit for tat with Joe – keep a diplomatic silence – it’s not good for Newcastle and it’s not professional.

But that’s Joe Kinnear all over – unfortunately – and he’s now an executive at the club?

Mike Ashley has to start controlling this guy – do you ever hear other Directors of Football in England criticizing like this in the press?

Kinnear’s a disgrace and an embarrassment to the club. He demeans his position as a senior figure in business. He’s acting like the oaf he is.

The officials will make a joke every 30 seconds and everyone will laugh. This wont go anywhere. When it comes to it people will drop their arse. The officials will give it the ‘yeah ur right’ yarn and say everyone is working hard. Yawn yawn!! This is our life this season guys get used to it!

    Q8i/Stuart,
Ashley did contribute to us going down. The season was a disaster from start to finish, but the hostility within the stadium didn’t help plus Shearer as a manager was to appease the fans and an awful footballing decision.

As for 52,000 united fans, we can’t even get a few hundred to agree on things on this blog, let alone mobilising and uniting that many fans.

Wasn’t Kinnear supposed to zip it?

He needs to be told to shut up and not retaliate or this will never stop.

He’s just feeding the press negative stories.
Does he get paid for giving these interviews?
Perhaps he’s earning thousands from his never/ending embarrassing comments.

I don’t agree with Kinnear washing the dirty laundry in public – but what he said about Shearer is absolutely right.

Great player was Shearer – but he wasn’t respected by many players when he took over as manager. That’s why Ashley didn’t give him the job full time – and its very significant that he hasn’t been appointed by any club as a manager since.

I haven’t posted for ages but I can’t hold back any more. This appointment is turning Newcastle into the travelling circus we were a few years ago. I can only hope that somehow, miraculously, the Kinnear/Pardew/Carr triangle turns out to work well and the headlines are written by the good football we play. In reality I fear that We we fail to attract decent players and our current stars will want to jump ship. Kinnear’s making everything about him and making us a laughing stock. If he carries on at this rate he will have less of a standing on Tyneside than Titus Bramble. And that’s saying something.

since when in the last 6 years has Ashley made any decision by taking into account the feelings of the fans…we the fans mean nothing to Ashley…it’s just a business for him.

He’s invested 240 million into the club and we’ve all invested our heart and souls but hearts and souls mean nowt to Ashley and they don’t pay the bills either.

Every decision he makes is a business decision and that’s where the lines are blurred for fans because we believe he should care as much as we do…but simple truth is he doesn’t.

    Tudor,
I assume you don’t go to the matches as the 52,000 are anything but vociferous. The crowd is much quieter now then it was just 10 years ago, let alone 20-30 years ago.

As for the being thousands of miles away, you are right, but I can guarantee I spend more money on going to watch Newcastle each season then you. I travel thousands of miles to get to 4/5 home games a year, at around £1500 a time. So if my distance away means you think I don’t love and am not passionate about my hometown club, then you are once again, sadly mistaken.

Shearer is undoubtedly a deluded arse who thinks just because he was a great footballing legend, that automatically transfers him into being a world class manager…he’s already proven beyond doubt he’s not and once you cross that line into management you can’t treat players like he did when he was playing…great great great player….arsehole and bully of a bloke though.

Pedro is an absolute legend of similar standing and his outlook and treatment of people is polar opposite. feet on ground springs to mind

Shearer is employed to give his opinion on football regularly Newcastle because he is a fan and he spoke as a fan. Kinnear is employed to do what again? Pretty sure it’s not to spout off every 5 seconds and get his jollies off in the media

Kinnear is the football arm of Ashley, no way would he speak in the manner he does without the knowledge and consent of Mike Ashley.
JFK is following orders from Ashley and to be fair, after last seasons disaster something drastic needs to be done. Joe is there to shake things up in his inimitable way, bad language and all.
Players used out of position, regular training pitch injuries, pathetic substitutions and selecting favourites despite being out of their depth. I hope JFK interferes with squad selection and forces Broken Brain out of the club, which I think is his mandate.

Kinnear aint going anywhere soon, let’s see who he brings in, from what i can gather he is a glorified mediator and i doubt he as any REAL say on who comes and goes from the club

You can’t really rate shearer as a good OR bad manager he didn’t have enough time and probably wasn’t ready to take such a big job.

Give him another 5 – 10 years and im sure he will be our manager

This is how a ‘Director of Football’ behaves !!!!

This idiot cannot believe he has been given this job and wants all to know it, he has a bigger ego than Pards and this will NOT work.

The man could not direct traffic in a one way street….

Ashley, when will you ever learn.

I cannot see our great club challenging for anything for the next 5 years at least – the worst thing about all of this is they actually think they know what they are doing.

I am so fed up with what is happeneing, we had such a great chance to push on when we finished fifth – probably the worst thing that could of happened at the time really – they just thought this management is a doddle. We know it all !!!!

Laughing stock day after day and Ash does not give a care, he still advertises his SD.

    imo
