Newcastle Reported To Have Bid For Two Top Strikers

There was news yesterday that Newcastle were launching a £13M bid for 24 year-old St. Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but how much truth there was in that report, we have no idea.

Wilfried Bony

Wilfred Bony – Newcastle supposed top have put in a bid for striker

And news coming in from talkSPORT today is that Newcastle are bidding £12M for 24 year-old Vitesse striker Wilfried Bony, who we were linked with back in January, when Newcastle were trying to bring in a striker to replace the departed Demba Ba.

Bony had an outstanding season in the Dutch League last season, and scored an impressive 31 goals in just 30 appearances, and he has 20 caps for the Ivory Coast with 8 goals.

Since joining Vitesse from Sparta Prague in January two years ago, Bony’s scored 46 goals in 65 appearances – not too bad at all.

The news in January was that Newcastle had two bids turned down by St. Etienne for their Gabon International striker, although some top clubs are now in for the 24 year-old.

It wouldn’t surprise us too much if Joe Kinnear is putting in bids for some of Newcastle’s targets, and both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Wilfried Bony are two players who would do well at Newcastle.

Both strikers Newcastle have been linked with in the last two days are very good goalscorers, and it could be that Newcastle will attempt to bring in two strikers this summer, to assist Papiss Cisse up front with the goal scoring duties.

Newcastle have also been linked with 29 year-old Aston Villa striker Darren Bent and he’s cheaper option at around £5M, and news on Saturday was that Newcastle had made initial contact t with Villa concerning the England striker.

So maybe one of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Wilfried Bony, coupled with Bent could be good acquisitions for Newcastle, and we certainly need more goal-scoring power, since we found it very difficult to score goals this year, after Demba Ba had left the club in early January.

Talksport employ a third party company that tweets about rumors, so for now it needs to be taken with a pinch of salt…………..but God I hope it is true

For some reason I just find it hard to believe that Kinnear scours the Dutch and French leagues considering he doesn’t seem to know that much about this years English league.

PEA and Bony would amount to a pay out of close to a 30 million by Mr.Ashley…………………..don’t think so myself

Only my second post so please go easy on me but was looking on Bony’s WIKI page earlier and it said that Vitesse accepted a bid of 8M yesterday from an unamed English club.. Maybe just maybe? (Although again, you have to take WIKI with a pinch of salt like you do TalkSport)

What about a bid for Belhanda – he is available, wants to come to the UK and we have dealt with his club previously and he knows Mbwia.

I’d love to see Belhanda in for 13m euros. Well worth it.

Torq – do you have any update on Belhanda? I remember a while back you hinted that Mbiwa might have been in contact with Belhanda about a possible move. Or maybe I was just reading what I wanted to hear!

Also I dont think Bony is a good idea unless we sell Cisse. Our two main strikers can be African becuase its too much of a loss for two months to have both out. I’d spend the money on PEA if he’s the same price

its past worry and into laughing point allready buddy so if no one signs i think most of us will take it as expected lol.

i hope the fat loudmouthed idiot proves me and prob everyone else wrong but i highly doubt it !

i personally expect the p*ss taken out of me all season from even the hull city fans but a big big signing like bony will go a long way to him even scratching the surface of him winning me around.

But we do need a non-african striker. Any thoughts?

Am I the only one who cannot understand why the players who have played a few international games are getting another 11 days off.

Our fitness levels last year were atrocious. Some teams are back in training now working on their speed, stamina etc.

Normally i dont care where our players come from but if we do sign Bony & Pea we are getting too many players that could miss 2 months every other season with the ACON, we could be missing Cisse, PEA, Bony, Tiote and that would leave us with Gouffan & Shola (providing Nigeria dont want him) as our forwards

I still think we should push the boat out for PEA he has rapid pace which is what we need to push teams back and provide counter attacks plus he can play wide left or up front with Cisse

Also dont understand why we are not in for Tom Ince ?!?Yes we missed out on Hoilett but I think overall Ince has a better attitude to life plus his dad keeps him on the straight and narrow Hoilett was too much of a gangster wannabe ! Unless the price is crazy because did Cardiff not bid like 10 million for Wanyama ?!?Could be possible Blackpool want Zaha style money

If we got Ince , PEA and Redmond I would be more than happy with this window as that would be 2 rapid wingers and a quality striker with no big guy for Pardew to lump it too he would have to play it on the deck every game !!

Although I think if Vuckic is fit this season he will get converted into a battering ram for the aerial plan B haha
