Rachel Yankey is an English ladies footballer who plays for Arsenal and for the England national team, and she recently reached 125 caps to equal Peter Shilton’s all-time record for an England international.
Rachel Yankey – equaled Peter Shilton’s record
And there’s news that a certain class gentleman called Chris Hughton sent the left winger a letter of congratulations on her achievment, and she was thrilled to receive such a gesture from the Norwich City and former Newcastle manager.
Yankey is set to break Peter Shilton’s record with her 126th International appearance in a friendly with Japan.
The 33 year-old was delighted with the gesture from the former Newcastle manager as she had this to say:
“He wrote me a lovely letter.” “I had spoken to him before at an event – I can’t even remember where it was and it wasn’t for very long, so I was overwhelmed and I was genuinely speechless when the letter arrived.”
“He sent one to St George’s Park, the FA’s training base, and one to Arsenal to make sure I got it.” “He congratulated me on my achievement in getting 125 caps and told me I was a credit to the game and that what I had done for women’s football was unbelievable.”
“I got to meet him when I played in a charity game and he was the manager and I thanked him and he was a really classy, inspiring guy.”
Chris Hughton did a magnificent job for Newcastle in getting us promoted from the Championship at the first attempt in 2010, and the Londoner was doing just fine in our first season back in the Premier League when he was ruthlessly sacked two years last December, and Alan Pardew was brought in.
Chris Hughton – while at Newcastle
And remember Chris joined Newcastle in February of 2008, and served under Kevin Keegan , who brought him into the club, Joe Kinnear and Alan Shearer, before he was given the opportunity to manage Newcastle in the Championship.
So there’s a case to be made that Chris served at Newcastle during one of the worst periods Newcastle have had for a long time, yet he always acted as a gentleman, and brought us back into the Premier League and we were around mid-table when he was fired.
Since he left Newcastle Chris has done a great job at Birmingham City, and in his first season at Norwich he had them in 11th place in the Premier League – five places and three points above Newcastle.
Why did we ever fire Chris Hughton – there’s a good question that’s never really been answered, and Chris is doing very well at Norwich City – and we hear the fans love him down there.
Now there’s a surprise.

Comment #82I Don’t Enjoy Or Like Ashley, But Im Waiting Until The Transfer Window Closes Before I condemn AnyonE In The Club.
Its ultra Importan For The Club To Invest This window, I Think Everyone Agrees There. But The Calls Of Doom N Gloom Are Massively Out Of Proportion. Unfortunately, NegativitY Spreads More Negativity. I Dont Like The Appointment Of JFK, But There Is Nowt I Or Anyone Else On This Blog Can Do About It. Bit####G About It Just Makes It Seem Worse Than It Is.
Hopefully What Torq Has Heard Comes To Fruition And We See Some Great Signings Come Through The Door Soon. For Me, PEA, Siem De Jong, Sakho And Ince Would Be A Phenomenally Successful Window. But Just BecauseNo SigNings Have Happened Yet Doesnt Mean The Club Is Doing Nothing. The Window Doesnt Open For 6 Days Yet!
After All Is Said And Done, Im Supporting This Club No Matter Who The Owne, Dof, Manager, Md,Or Tea Lady Are.

I was reading your posts yesterday and think you are far to ready to dismiss people with opposite views to your self, I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned it but I’m not Mike Ashleys biggest fan and this is a blog for supporters of NUFC.

I think if we kept everyone and every player was fit from the start then I could still see us maybe about 10th or 11th with a bit of luck that other teams struggle then maybe 8th or 9th
Potentially if Pardew gets the coaching side right as we have a settled squad we could hit the ground running and smash some teams early doors build up momentum but i think we will park the bus against City and get pounded which will probably knock the confidence
City will be there for the taking for a while till Pelegrinno gets used to premier league and we could get a result if we attacked them but i doubt we will

Comment #102Kevy nah but I saw prometheus the other night and that was much like watching geordies. Wait so long to get to some glory, an unheard of revelation, come close, then lose our fecking minds trying to stay away from what is clearly a destructive, blood sucking higher species. In no way am I comparing Ashley to a higher species, but I imagine he probably would like to have a mouth inside his mouth, so he could eat pasties while chewing up and spitting out our hopes and dreams.

Comment #105I see everyone just interpreted my comments as me hating Black people. I don’t. I do hate globalization and the division it has caused in Europe. Every White country has had multiculturalism forced upon it without consulting the people. Every referendum in Britain has been in favour of less immigration, yet nothing has been done.
It’s Africa for the Africans
Asian for the Asians
White countries for everyone.
This will lead to white people having no country, no unique culture, and no future. We will go extinct. On average we are the oldest race, and we have the lowest birth rates. Our numbers are decreasing and the more mixed our societies get, the faster we will fade away.
Some one above justified our genocide by saying we are all just African anyway because we share a common ancestor. That’s true but we also share a common ancestor with every mammal on earth. Maybe every single animal. Besides is the extinction of polar bears ok with you because we have Grizzlies? They are just subspecies after all and reproduce, so why don’t we just let Polars go extinct?
Fell free to bully and try to intimidate me, but don’t, anyone take a position of moral authority, because it’s simply disgusting to defend a genocidal regime.

Comment #112We get the word slave from the word Slav. The white Slavs were taken as slaves for the ottoman empire. Yet people don’t use this as a weapon against the Turks to get them to shut up or pay reparations.
Only white people must feel guilty for slavery even though every race has had slaves. Besides it’s every white country not just America.

Comment #114If it all boiled down to if we should get Bony or Aubameyang, I would probably go for Bony. From what I’ve seen he looks more of a goalscorer, quite simply. His goals-to-game ratio is better.
Then again, France is a tougher league than the dutch. Afonso Alves (45 goals in 39 matches for Heerenveen) taught us that a goalscorer from the dutch league may not fare too well in England.
Still, Bony just seems very composed and his finishing might be some of the calmest I’ve seen.
Something tells me Aubameyang would see us as more of a stepping stone. He is a great prospect, no doubt. He just strikes me as more of a journeyman who would jump at the first chance to leave us for greater things. But then again, who wouldn’t in modern football? Andy Carroll wouldn’t, but his loyalty didn’t come to his benefit.
We’ll probably end up with Darren Bent.

Comment #119The Hypocrisy… People who profess to hate racism have no problem discriminating against whites.
More than half of the hate crimes in America have a white victim. Yet there are no laws designed to punish minorities for hate crimes or protect Whites…Whites have less rights in their own countries, all in the name of anti-racism.
