Newcastle Look At Fans’ Forum To Improve Communications

Newcastle United’s Head Of Media is Wendy Taylor and she seems to want to solve the almost complete lack of communication between the supporters and the club, and she had talked about some of her own ideas about how to do that.

Wendy Taylor – looking at fans’ forum

This is what Wendy said folklowing the meeting on Monday night with fans:

“We are looking to introduce a fans’ forum, which will be a formal body with fans voted onto the forum, sitting for one year or two years so the club can listen to their views, and we can use them as a sounding board for some of the ideas that we have. They are the developments we would like to see over the next season.”

“I think the important thing is even in the tough times – and I think that everyone admits that at the moment things are a little tough – we need to communicate, and we do understand that. It is crucial that we keep listening, and that we take fans’ feedback back to the club, as without the supporters this club is not the magnificent club it is.”

“We will take that for granted at our peril.”

We wonder if she’s told Mike Ashley that we take fans for granted at our peril – since that’s exactly what the owner seems to do – and he also completely ignores the fans – and always has.

Not good.

It should be fairly easy for Newcastle to quickly find out what’s on fans’ minds by looking at the many forums and blogs on Newcastle, but it’s true they will need some group to work with to get fans’ views on future actions at the club.

Pity that wasn’t done for the Joe Kinnear appointment, and in our poll, with over 7500 readers having voted, a massive 87% don’t want Joe as Director of Football.

Do You Want Joe Kinnear As Newcastle's Director Of Football?

We would hope that something is put in place fairly quickly, and then  see how it goes, and at this point, almost anything is better than what we have at the moment – which isn’t much.

With Colo staying, I’m officially starting the Mbiwa for LB campaign!

His performance there against Arsenal was the best display from a fullback at our club, in aeons!

Jamsha just spontaneously combusted in excitement. That’s great but how trivial and patronising are the topics put forward going to be? That’s my worry, if it’s going to be there just to placate fans but with no real input on the actual issues at the club, the don’t bother.

i would rather see him settled in cb as he’s a great player there and a great captain also when he earns the respect of other players.
and collo will not be with us forever and i dread saylor/williamson combo >.<

Does anyone know if we did have a clause attached to the future sale of Carroll, I am sure we were due a percentage.

Hoping we sign a couple of players soon.

    Wilson Eduardo isn’t exactly a goalscorer…

    Loaned out from Sporting CP he managed;
    2012-2013 – 6 goals for Academica
    2011-2012 – 7 goals for Olhanense
    2010-2011 – 5 goals for Beira-Mar

Have you seen the article in The Mag about the reaction of Marselles supporters to the news we have bid 14mil euros for Cignac, Comments like ‘ I’l give him a piggy back all the way to Newcastle’, and ‘Please let it be true’ and incredulity at the 14 mil bid. with almost all of them saying I’d take their hand off if Newcastle were daft enough to pay that.

Only comment I seen was telling us to leave him alone. To be honest though that means nothing as our supporters would say the same about Tiote who is a quality player. A lot would probably say it with Cisse.

I’ve already seen it been written about Cabaye and Ben-Arfa on Facebook.
