Newcastle United’s Head Of Media is Wendy Taylor and she seems to want to solve the almost complete lack of communication between the supporters and the club, and she had talked about some of her own ideas about how to do that.
Wendy Taylor – looking at fans’ forum
This is what Wendy said folklowing the meeting on Monday night with fans:
“We are looking to introduce a fans’ forum, which will be a formal body with fans voted onto the forum, sitting for one year or two years so the club can listen to their views, and we can use them as a sounding board for some of the ideas that we have. They are the developments we would like to see over the next season.”
“I think the important thing is even in the tough times – and I think that everyone admits that at the moment things are a little tough – we need to communicate, and we do understand that. It is crucial that we keep listening, and that we take fans’ feedback back to the club, as without the supporters this club is not the magnificent club it is.”
“We will take that for granted at our peril.”
We wonder if she’s told Mike Ashley that we take fans for granted at our peril – since that’s exactly what the owner seems to do – and he also completely ignores the fans – and always has.
Not good.
It should be fairly easy for Newcastle to quickly find out what’s on fans’ minds by looking at the many forums and blogs on Newcastle, but it’s true they will need some group to work with to get fans’ views on future actions at the club.
Pity that wasn’t done for the Joe Kinnear appointment, and in our poll, with over 7500 readers having voted, a massive 87% don’t want Joe as Director of Football.
We would hope that something is put in place fairly quickly, and then see how it goes, and at this point, almost anything is better than what we have at the moment – which isn’t much.

We always lament what is gone, but I think he’s more instinctive than Ba. It was almost embarrassing the way he was scoring when he came. Ba, such a nice and cool dude, was losing his composure…
Cisse scored more goals than his tally shows, he’s the most naturally instinctive CF we’ve ever had. Ok, that’s the good part…
NOW, can he learn to play with someone else? Can he improve his game + vision?

Comment #202I’d be satisfied with that, but we need more than one striker.
