Newcastle Target Offered New Contract At PSG

23 year-old PSG center-half Mamadou Sakho has been tracked by Newcastle for well over a year now, and we should know shortly whether he will leave the only club he’s ever played for.

Mamadou Sakho – could sign new deal at PSG

The 6’2″ French International was not first choice at PSG under manager Carlo Ancelotti last season, but now with former France manager Laurent Blanc taking over at the Paris based club, that could change.

And there’s news today that Blanc is moving quickly to try to keep the player at PSG, and Mamadou has been offered a news deal, with only one year left on his current contract.

It was Laurent Blanc who gave the player his full French debut in November of 2010, when Sakho played against England, and came on as a substitute  at half time, and France went on to win that game 2-1 at Wembley.

Newcastle are said to be monitoring the situation, and we should hear fairly shortly whether he has decided  to stay at PSG.

Mamadou has played 196 times with 7 goals for PSG  since making his debut at just 17 in the club’s 3–0 win over Lorient in the Coupe de la Ligue in September, 2007.

He has played 13 times for France and appeared in all of the French Youth sides, and he would be an excellent signing for Newcastle this summer.

From previous thread, there is no rule stating that you have to have english players in your squad. Home grown, yes, but that is anyone who trained in the UK between the ages of 17 and 21 for a minimum of 3 years. Krul is, Vuckic will be. Clichy and Fabregas were home grown as are Man Utds Rafael and Fabio etc etc

Whatever happened to Guidetti from Man City? He had a blinder in Holland 2 years ago, was linked with loads of clubs last summer only to go nowhere. Another home grown talent who looked good. Worth a punt on him as a young back up, rather than Bent? Or did something happen last year that makes him a no go?

Probably, promise a lot – leading till last hundred yards, beaten at the winning post – like our transfers
It could be worth a bet Each -Way odds 12/1 at the moment

How do you work out Zarate is free? Lazio wanted 5million less than a month ago…..
Alderwield has said he wouldn’t join Newcastle.
Remy won’t be coming here while he has this case hanging over him.
    Mcmanaman at 6million? maybe 3/4mill.

When will you stop suggesting Alderweireld?!

He’s physical come out and said I don’t want to join a club like Newcastle. You must be in some dream world if you reckon that means we will attempt to buy him.

Lilongwe true, I did include Krul as homegrown and Fergie.
Vuckic is still classed as an underage player this season.
The point I was trying to make is that people like Kets and to be fair pretty much everyone else are salivating at foreign players when we only have a few British/ homegrown players available to us. The quality gap between the foreign players and British? homegrown is also enormous,. If Shola will Perch and Ameobi Gosling get moved on we are left with Krul Elliot Saylor Tav Fergie Dummet Newton and Inman. Not a pleasent prospect in my book.

Alderweireld hasn’t ruled us out. Lazio are apparently breaking Zarate’s contract, so he’ll be available on a free.

Mcmanaman will be overpriced as he is english.

    Players we need in
Cb i dont know who for center back but douglas was perfect 4 us as he dosent cost a penny but that kinnear pulled oit cas hes a knob

We deperatly need a left mid cas marv has been linked away and gutierezz is awful so a talented midfielder like redmond or ince would fill that role well and fit in the team.

St x 2 i reckon that if shola goes we need 3 st but i think bony and pea would be good up front together

Cm if cabaye goes get vidal simple as that

You know the problem with Sahko is that he wants to play regulary for PSG; so should he leave to come here facing the same problem?

…ain’t gonna happen and was never going to happen. We need some one young who won’t be a starter but will have the potential to be.

We need to sign a replacement for Ba and we need someone who can play wide. But it all depends on Pardew and his stubbornness. If he percist on play 4-5-1 (I know he thinks it is 4-3-3) then buy players that fit into that concept and stop buying modern continental players.

Who is Newcastle trying to kid?

Since homegrown players have nothing to do with being English then maybe the club should think about that when they buy young players.

They need to have played three years in Britain before the age of 21. We need to get good young players at the age of 17.

That is what Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool, Citeh and Spurs are doing.

No point buy Brits when they are older than 21 unless you can get them at a bargain. They are simply overprized. There are good deals to be made if we look for them.

Nick Powell comes to mind 🙂

You know we will never sign all those, Ketsbaia. And we’ll never get 2,5m for Gosling 😉
I’ve seen Aubameyang quite a bit, he’s a very exciting player. Him and HBA behind Cisse can be mint!
