Newcastle Reported Interested In West Ham Midfielder

talkSPORT is reporting that Newcastle could be interested in West Ham’s left-sided player Matt Taylor.

matt taylor

Matt Taylor – Newcastle supposed to be interested

Newcastle were interested in Matt Taylor a number of years ago when he played left back at Luton, but to think Newcastle would be interested in an average player who is now 31 years old and past his best, is hard to believe.

Matt Jarvis arrived from Wolves last summer for a hefty £10.4M, and Taylor has not had the number of games he would liked, although he still made 29 appearances for West Ham with one goal last season.

The former Bolton, Portsmouth and Luton player has plenty of experience, but we’d be very surprised – make that shocked – if this report has any truth to it at all.

In his career Matt Taylor has 543 appearances with 70 goals, and he has a terrific left foot.

    31 year old West Ham reserve, we may not be as attractive as we have been in the past, but this is woeful, Ed, please delete this article as it serves no purpose.

    Repost for those in conversation to:

    @Jamiemac

    Rubbish? only rubbish I see is you neglecting for information which is the truth.

    @Transfer Sage

    Graham Carr had more then to only identify players, he is our chief scout and he was the important role of the club in order to get them over the line. DL had to negotiate the fee that all not explain to him about the club history and how he would fit in to our project in-doubt about the “Five Year Plan”.

    There is a reason Mike Ashley appointed JK as the DOF and that was so that he could speed up the process of negotiations and be the mainstream media man for Newcastle as DL was failing to speak to the fans about whats going on and had failed deals which were deemed to help the club. So JK is the main man responsible with Graham Carr, Pardew will continue to see players come in which he does not have no say in at all, though JK has said all three of them will have a say but to talk about whats reality with Mike it wont happen.

    @tequilamag

    Yes the players signs for Newcastle United, but without a right spokesman and excellent communication skills would the player just come in to Newcastle United knowing nothing other than a clown which is back in NUFC? it was all over the news in France as well about JK returning and how he couldn’t lower our club reputation anymore but he did and continues to.

    Joe Kinnear is responsible for mainly transfers as its the pecking order goes

    Joe Kinnear/Graham Carr
    Pardew

    It will make a huge difference on who will come or not when JK is negotiating and that was said when Douglas transfer was cancelled.

    From previous thread

    Reality grip, why would PEA even consider Dortmund and there superb stadium with their fans, with Champions League football and all the glory that goes with such a successful football club when he could join us who can boast at having a DOF who is head and shoulders above any other who is in his job.

    This window is about experience. Pardew said it at the end of last season… and this is, sadly, along the right lines.

    Perchinho is having a medical at Wigan, apparently.

    Brighter post…..

    Really fellas this could still turn out to be a very good window !

    If we are prepared to let one of our adaptable players ie Perchino, then the simple thinking behind this MUST be we are going to strengthen more than one position ! If not we would of kept Perch…..

    We must be going to sign a few……

    Come on joke in here. …. It’s all good from now on, £700k in the bank to go with the war chest put to one side…..

    Well I have convinced myself, off to the Pav for a couple to celebrate 😉

    I might go into the garden and talk to the goldfish, it’s almost appealing as staying on here, only one problem, I don’t have any goldfish, problem solved, I will go and buy some, but I will need a pond won’t I, do you know what this reminds me of, lets sing along ” there’s a hole in my bucket d……”, perhaps not.

    At 31 years of age and having never been a ‘purple’ I would imagine his pimp is doing his very best to get as much money out of him as he can before he ends up on the scrap heap. This is as implausible as Shola going to Barca.

    Good player. Would’ve been a good signing a few years ago. Used to have a cracking shot. N’Zogbia would be a good signing but there’s no way Kinnear would recruit him. Zarate is a great option. He’s only 26 and can play in 3 different positions.

    “Turkish, nobody really knows whether we were still intersted in signing Douglas. There was nothing from the club only press speculation that Kinnear vetoed the deal and as the press were in full slag off JK mode I would no give it too much credence. At this point everything we read is speculation no more no less.”

    You are absolutely correct mate regarding press speculation and that but it makes sense that we tried to pursue him as he is a free agent and we were heavily linked with him last season even put in a bid for him which got rejected. 2 million euros or something I cannot really remember.

    I made a comment about the media-stream rumours and how they put up allot of nonsense everyday that being today being linked with 31 year old Matt Taylor. Makes sense in Pardews world as Pardew would love to get old players past their prime but we know very right well what our policy is and we would not go for him even if he was free agent.

    Didn’t Pardew come out after his “We need PL experience” comment and say that he didn’t mean players outside of the clubs current policy, but simply players who had been in the PL for a while, like Walcot?

    breaking news, Barcelona are preparing and audacious bid to try and tempt Newcastle’s highly rated striker Shola Amamadoubie to join them in there quest for footballing supremecy, such a loss would have a devastating effect on the moral of the loyal Newcastle fans.

    And in other news:Nothing happened and no one cares. lets just invent a non-story to fill the blog page up.
    Ed: Tomorrow why not just cut and paste this:
    The agent of a footballer (insert wildly speculative players name based upon Football manager or similar PC or X box game), who plays for (insert absurdly famous and mega rich club here), has reported (put this in inverted comma’s to show that it isn’t true really), that Newcastle united have been in touch / signed / are in talks with (delete as desired), for a fee of (insert stupid money ) and wages of (ditto), on a 5 / 10 / 15 year deal.

    that should save us all a load of time reading utter crap like this. Matt Taylor FFS………..

    School report…….
    Ed. Must try harder. See me.

    Ibiza… But then you have to ask has JK changed the policy? Its not surprising really that in the vast amount of interviews he’s given he hasn’t actually talked about important things like is the policy changing or what types of players we’re going for. Honestly JK has done a stellar job so far….. of publicising himself 🙂

    that is a very valid point, 12 months ago Tiote, Ben Arfa and Cabaye were being linked to other clubs as they are now, but the values attached to a possible purchase has reduced significantly.

    Turkish, may also be the case that once Colo made the decision he wanted to stay that the decision was made that Douglas was no longer needed even if we were actually interested in him to start with. The silence from Pardew since JK was appointed is very unusual so it is almost impossible to say what he actually wants in terms of new players. We can all speculate all day and suckers that we are for Newcastle probably will. Everyone has their own particular bias as to what is wrong and right with Newcastle and we all have a tendency to latch on to speculation that suits our own narrative. For me I think it is best to have an open mind, hope for the best but don`t be too surprised if things don`t pan out how we want or expect.
