Reports Dortmund Have Still To Agree Fee For Aubameyang

There were reports earlier today  on the web-site Gazzetta dello Sport, that suggested Borussia Dortmund had agreed a fee of £13M (about €15M) with Saint Etienne for Newcastle target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang 987

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – on his way to Bundesliga?

And that seemed to be justified,  because why would a Dortmund official travel to France to discuss the transfer, if a fee hadn’t already been agreed – it could happen, but it’s a little unlikely.

However, there is a report on the French site maidenfoot today which says the following:

Despite the assertion of the Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday morning, no agreement has yet been reached between Saint-Etienne and Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Although ASSE has already given its consent, the Greens have yet to agree with the final details to complete the deal.

And a source close to Aubameyang had this to say:

“The offer of Dortmund has not yet reached the €15M expected by Saint-Etienne”

We’d like to think there will be a hitch in the deal, but it seems to us that Dortmund are way out in the lead on this, and are now definite favorites to sign Newcastle’s number one transfer target.

However we’ve been wrong before – so there’s always hope. 😀

But if the German club does that, it will be the third transfer window running that Newcastle have failed to get their number one transfer target through the door.

Sadly – it doesn’t look good.

How does one spell frustration? Kinnear!!!

As an afterthought and given Kinnear’s press drivelling, how long before Wendy Taylor’s decided she’s in a no win situation? Next for the departure lounge?

Wendy pet, you’re on a binding to nowt and nobody’d blame you if you said enough is enough! Bless you girl.

If get two assist machines Gouffran, Cisse and Campbell might be enough. Cisse used to be top scorer in Germany after all and half a season for us as well.

    @9&10

i’ll be honest and say gamerio is the only name that stands out there the rest are good but not the same quality i think we desp need i.e. bony/pea

menez is a winger i think and siem is atk mid.
yedder i think is young lad if i remember right and other 2 are good but champ’s players atm so would be 3rd choice striker material imo.
dunno about volland and dumbia though.

what annoys me most is teams around or below us are getting players that could well move them above us but suppose there is plenty of time yet just hate seeing all the best players getting tied up while we do nothing.

That’s the one jazzyp. She’s got no chance as long as kinnear’s allowed to run amok.

Any social workers or doctors on here who can get him sectioned, out of harms way. The man’s ill.

Dortmund for all I know didn’t have Aubameyang as their top target. So missing out on shouldn’t be the end of the world as long as you have your alternatives ready.

What alot of people including MA don’t realise the transfer policy is w.nk, Yes a few well scouted players are great but to move forward you have to PAY for proven quality. These budget chancers keep your team average.

Maybe lame-arse going was because he was sick of being a yes man, he was trying to get Douglas in, maybe his wages were too much for MA and hence move along, now who can I get cheap to replace him who I know will be another puppet like pardew, I know, step forward the yes man I had before, the self professed genius that is Kinnear, just a thought, I’m bored.

take ba out of the equation 13 goals-take cisse out with 8 pl goals and we scored a mind blowing, wait for it, no wait 22 GOALS between the whole team for the whole 2012-13 season
I think this more than emphasises we seriously need an out and out goal scorer to mask what is glaringly obvious a big big issue for nufc

popscott. You’re bored? Ashley must be on a different planet if he can’t see the damage that’s being done to is investment.

I wonder, if MA, as a potential buyer looked at NUFC, would he seriously risk £267m on buying it?

    Not a chance

Juventus have to many up front and will most likely have clear out. Not sure if we can get Negredo or not.

Berbatov turned out well for Fulham.

I think we’ll bid peanuts for Bent, villa will reject it, and we’ll end up with Carlton Cole.

I wouldn’t mind Darren Bent to be honest. As long as we sign another striker to go along with him.

sparky- Glad to hear you come in peace. I am a firm believer in the art of the possible and a pre season can make things a whole lot better. Remember the January signings need time to blend as a unit. Debuchy is likely to be more used to the physicality of the PL going forward. Santon needs to time his runs better and is a young talent that can only get better. The key is Tiote being disciplined in not trying to be overly ambitious. For me the biggest concern is in fact Saylor who at times is too gung ho. Yanga will be a PL star he has everything except experience of PL – his anticipation reading of a game and recovery is first class. I only see the need for 2-3 offensive players to get behind opposing defences and help out Cisse. The backbone of the side is already in place and will be first class. It will be good to have Tim back – hopefully having worked on his kicking. The rest of the players I have previously covered. I am not influenced by the unfounded rampant negativity, particularly as none of us really nows what Ashley is likely to do in the transfer market because he’s so unpredictable. I can’t believe though that he would bring Kinnear in unless it was to improve the transfer dealings given the situation in January.
I simply don’t buy the Kinnear to replace Pardew scenario. Time will tell but it’s far more satisfying to take a positive view in the absence of any concrete news at this juncture. The no news is good news applies for me. Personally I look forward to competing at the right end of the league.
Time will tell- take it easy.

If 12m for Dzeko, it could be a super buy. Given that Tevez left for only 10m… Keep dreaming! +5m for Guidetti too… and get Rodwell, Sinclair and Lescott for another 15m…

However, I still want Adam le Fondre.
