Swansea Bid Almost £14M For Newcastle Target

11:47 pm, Friday, July 5th, 2013 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 110 Comments

Some Premier League clubs are not holding back in bidding big money for their transfer targets this summer, and news on Friday night that Swansea have bid £13.7M (€16M) for supposed Newcastle target Wilfried Bony.

Wilfried Bony

Wilfried Bony – Swansea bid €16M for Vitesse striker

It was thought that Swansea had agreed a deal for the Vitesse striker last week when they bid £10.2M, but that bid seems to have been turned down by his Dutch club, and while the bid has certainly been tabled by the Welsh club, it has not been accepted by Vitesse.

Bony’s representative is Francis Kacou, and this is what he had to say about the proposed Swansea deal

“Swansea wanted to pay and Bony has seen that, but Vitesse wanted more. Now there is an offer of €14M plus €2M in bonuses.” “Why is Bony still in Arnhem? We do not know what they want.”

Kacou also said that Swansea have been interested in the striker for the last six months,  and the Ivory Coast International had a great season in Holland, and scored 31 goals in 30 games last season for Vitesse.

Newcastle have been linked with this striker since January, but it’s hard to think Newcastle can still be interested in the player, if we have not put in any bid for the 24 year-old.

This increase in TV revenue has sent prices through the roof!

  • 2 Levi // Jul 5, 2013 at 11:57 PM

for me him or PEA was the strikers i wanted. Missed out on both. Who next? Swansea are in Europe so as hard as it is for me to say they will be more appealing to a lot of players

  • 3 jamesnufc86 // Jul 5, 2013 at 11:58 PM

Tired of wasting energy thinking about this now. I don’t think we will get Bony, Remy or anyone that will cost more than 7 million. Just fed up with Ashley and co kicking the sh*te out my hopes. Like many of the other fans I’m starting care less

  • 4 BandB // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:01 AM

You can’r lose faith. That spoils everything.
Good news for some though. If you are a 100-year-old sports company, down on its uppers.
Imagine Borg or McEnroe once carried your products to world-wide fame, and now your once-great family name is in the Sports Direct bargain bucket, stripped of all meaning.
You thought it was Stalin parking his tanks on your lawn.
But it wasn’t. It was just cack-handed, risible chump and laughing stock of football, Mike Ashley.
Just laugh at him. He’ll go away. Just laugh at him. He’ll go away.

  • 5 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:07 AM

isn’t the new tv money at the end of this season so quite alot of clubs gambling really?
on bony i’d rather remy he can play on either side of a front 3 and we know cisse can finish in an attackin 3 with him in the middle so remy cisse arfa looks mouthwaterin to me!
much better than hoping cisse n bony will form a partnership

  • 6 toonking // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:10 AM

i think bill son has put the final piece of the jigsaw because from what he has been saying in the last couple of post even he seems to be getting fed up with the way our club is being run.
i did a post which made me change once and for all about him probably using us as free advertising.

the only person that i still think deserves more credit and praise than he get’s is alan pardew. he might have did some mistakes last season but the way Newcastle are being ran it must be the hard team to manage because he seems to have no say on transfers doesn’t have much depth can never be sure that a player will stay.
people like rotunda in post 154 two thread earlier moan saying he wants pardew out but isn’t worried too much about kinear because he is short term.
well the person who is going to replace pardew is the dick joker

  • 7 Dondatta13 // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:10 AM

I believe that any team that appears in the PL this season gets the new cash windfall.

  • 8 Levi // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:10 AM

I would rather Newcastle just got by for the next few years whilst Ashley got some of the money back from interest frree loans so that he would sell the club for what its worth. Rather then spends loads on transfers and owe Ashley more money cos that would just up the price of the club and mean we would be stuck with him for longer. Anybody agree with my opinion?

  • 9 lesh // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:12 AM

Bent’s deffo not happening. Just heard from a reliable source that he’s just been put into an old-folks home and won’t be around for a while.

  • 10 lesh // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:14 AM

    Dondatta13 @7.

    All except Newcastle United.

  • 11 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:15 AM

dondatta yeah thats what i mean they get it at the end of the season but some teams like southampton are spending it like mad which imo is a gamble if it dont work

  • 12 Dondatta13 // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:16 AM

Don’t we just know it lol

  • 13 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:16 AM

plus west brom with anelka 3 year contract n he’s 34 n i bet he aint on small wages?

  • 14 JackButler // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:17 AM

Seems like Ashley is too busy counting the extra TV revenue to be bothered to actually spend any of it……we are the premier leagues poor relative

  • 15 Dondatta13 // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:19 AM

I suppose it really depends on the wages and length of contract these expensive signings get.

I can imagine alot of relegation clauses being inserted in the small print, although the parachute payments are nothing to be sniffed at either.

  • 16 lesh // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:19 AM

Worry not Dondatta13. The TV cash’s in safe hands.

Between Ashkey and Joker Kinnear, we’ll spend near enough diddley squart.

  • 17 Tommyy // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:19 AM

Good old Newcastle, least ambitious side in the entire division.

  • 18 JackButler // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:22 AM

PEA off to Dortmund, Kone having medical at Everton, Swansea miles ahead in the race for Bony, we turn down the chance of taking Remy…………………Darren Bent is looking more likely by the hour 🙁

  • 19 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:23 AM

i do find it funny that at the end of the season how many people on here who were slaggin pardew said the words “we’ve got the best squad we’ve ever had/in ages” but now after 5 days of the window bein open we’re all in uproar coz we ain’t signed anyone of note and we’re gonna be relegated !!

  • 20 Tommyy // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:25 AM

I’m getting less and less bothered about everything Newcastle by the day, and i hate it. Newcastle used to be such a great hobby and passion to have, now it’s been taken away it’s almost criminal.

  • 21 JackButler // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:25 AM

manxpie – I think most people can see/fear us repeating the same mistakes we made last summer

  • 22 petchey22 // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:28 AM

Absolutely ridiculous that MA can’t spend this sort of money (which is worth very little to him) on a decent player that we so desperately need. Kinnear failed at signing Aubameyang who was our number 1 target but promised our very loyal fans a quality signing by Friday, same old same old promises he can’t keep or plain old lies rather. Well it looks like we’ve missed out on Bony and I’m getting very worried about the future of Newcastle as long as Kinnear and MA are in charge.

  • 23 Joe Blog // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:29 AM

I hear ya’. My enthusiasm has waned to the point where I’m almost as apathetic about NUFC, as I am what colour/style bug screen we should get for our back door – *shrugs*.

  • 24 Dondatta13 // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:30 AM

Lesh… In all honesty Im at the point where I think, If Ashley doesnt care about this club that he owns… why should I ?

Let the stupid Oaf get on with it…

    My healths more important lol

  • 25 Tommyy // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:31 AM

Manxpie – Our squad is decent, but unbalanced and massively overrated by the majority of fans. Every other team in this division has shown a willingness and ambition to better themselves and compete with the exception of possibly Hull and Fulham. We haven’t, and I can’t see us bringing in the players we need, therefore leaving us behind other sides yet again.

We all know what we need and we should have had it sorted by now, we don’t need an overhaul, 3 top players ( CB, Winger and ST) and we could have all been raring to go for preseason, but oh no not at Newcastle.

  • 26 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:33 AM

dondatta aye forgot about that they go up aswell, surely ashley isn’t thinkin of that 🙂
its gonna be an exciting season eitherway and more competative by the looks of it
the way i look at it the defense is done might need a new young rb and the same if willo goes
midfield is strong apart from an out n out winger preferably lw again young but talented then we need another top striker who’s quick then imo we ain’t far away from a great balenced squad?

  • 27 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:34 AM

  • 28 Tommyy // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:34 AM

Joe Blog – Ditto, for me it’s the biggest disappointment. As fans we can take the bad times and losing and whatever else etc but having the soul extracted from the culture and identity that is NUFC is beyond anything else, and it’s happening. It’s upsetting.

  • 29 Tommyy // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:38 AM

For once can we just show ambition!? Damnit if anyone deserves it it’s Toon fans.

  • 30 Dondatta13 // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:39 AM

Manxpie.. Before you start getting too uppity lol may I just remind you that our Manager famously left Tevez and Mascherano on the bench while “managing” WestHam… Even if we do sign the three “Purples” that would balance our team… that ass clown would get it all wrong anyway.

  • 31 djm... // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:39 AM

Correct me of I am wrong, but I’m sure I’ve heard this argument before. Something along the lines of ‘oh no! We are missing all of our targets, made up to sell papers. We must be signing Carlton cole instead!’- we ended up with ba and cisse.

I’m Pretty confident we will not be offering bent a job to so much as wipe mikes arse.

  • 32 Dondatta13 // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:40 AM

    Erm… NO! lol

  • 33 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:42 AM

tommy i pretty much said wat you said lol and i agree it’s wether ashley or jfk or whoever the fecck it is that deals with transfers at this club! sanctions it
i dont think we need a top cb tho not yet anyways we’ve got saylor collo n mbwia who imo are top cb’s maybe a young top prospect to bed in for when collo goes maybe zouma

  • 34 AndyNUFC // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:42 AM

Dondatta, refering to your post on Gazza, I am sure he will have dabbled with weed, but the guy is a monster. His addiction has created a person dependent being as close to drunk as his liver can take.

I fully agree with your sentiment though, it’s a crying shame our government feels being oh so civil, stiff upper lip, and intellectually superior means that a lot of troubled people will not benefit the treatment of such natural medication as cannabis.

  • 35 toonluvva // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:44 AM

I thought that JoKe had a signing lined up before Friday.

It is Saturday now. Is the new U17 the one JoKe was on about? No disrepect intended to the lad, but I was hoping for something a little better.

Are we seriously looking at targets or is JoKe just stringing us along.

Can you imagine the panic if at the beginning of September a serious injury befell Cisse keeping him out for a lengthy portion of the season.

We need at least 1 good striker in before September. Bony or Remy, but why not both.

There are rumblings against Ashley now, but they will be nothing compared to the fury that will be unleashed if by Christmas we are at the wrong end of the table.

  • 36 Tommyy // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:46 AM

Manxpie – Agreed, CB would be last priority out of the 3 for me. We just need something to lift the spirits.

  • 37 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:49 AM

dondatta but ya gotta remember he was manager under owners that would make ashley look like god plus if he didn’t play them full stop west ham wouldn’t have got a bill for £30 mill 🙂
and tbf tevez was great in the south american league but it was still a massive step up 2 the prem plus his temprement has been suspect ever since he’s been here
that excuse doesn’t wash with me against pardew

  • 38 Tommyy // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:49 AM

Toonluvva – I honestly think we will be, especially IF We get a couple of injuries and Pardew tries to employ his ‘tactics’.

  • 39 Dondatta13 // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:52 AM

I’m just clutching at straws really..

Sad how we’re in the 21st Century and yet people still suffer needlessly and are even criminalized for trying alternate medication.

There’s no profit for the multinational conglomerates and drug corps when you can grow a plant!

I see the USA is starting to try something new.

Not that I condone drug taking for sh*ts n giggles lol

  • 40 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:54 AM

yeah tommy but please god not bent not yet anyways!!
if we get remy or another top striker then shola goes and then we get bent, fine lol

  • 41 Dondatta13 // Jul 6, 2013 at 12:58 AM

Manxpie, my friend, I would imagine that watching these guys train at close quarters everyday the quality would stand out surely?

Cisse on the wing? Sissoko on the wing or CAM? Tiote trying to spray passes around? Anita super glued to the bench..

You have to admit his methods do appear “Odd”

  • 42 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:09 AM

well from last summer he was fcuked and ho did we have to play right of a front 3 i admit he fcuked up wit trying to please ba but i can understand it
and we were in a relegation scrap when sissoko came would you trust him to be your main dm in a new country new much tougher faster league or go with experience??
and anita really didn’t show that much if ya being honest infact bigi i felt more sorry for he did seem to be able to find a team mate 3 yards away 🙂
i can see why in most parts pardew decided to do what he did and yes some of it failed but to slate him in hindsight is very easy last year was a right off from the summer imo
not a balanced squad which ended up with not even a balenced teamsheet every week
people keep saying why did he play players out of position but wat were the alternatives?

  • 43 toonking // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:10 AM

half of why cisse was on the wing i would put down to pardew trying his best to do what suits ba because you can see how difficult it is for us to get transfers so for all we know pardew was overly concerned of loosing ba and not getting a replacement which happened
the anita on the bench well my guess their is we have lots of CM any way tiote sissoko cabaye bigi anita and anita was new to the league anyway.
even if he did leave i am certain we won’t see a better one it will just be the joker

  • 44 Marty-Toon // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:13 AM

Think we will be ok with what we ave this year, apart from a striker really.
seeing we won’t be in Europe and the extra games,as long as our French lads come out of the box running.
Fed up of absolutely no news regarding transfers except for those leaving

  • 45 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:14 AM

i’ve found out who inykaila is

    indykaila News ?@indykaila 40m
“@bree_1986: @indykaila does your mummy let you stay up late on weekends?” >> No but your mummy doesn’t let me sleep tonight.

    TOONRUZ!!!!!! its gotta be! 🙂

  • 46 Dondatta13 // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:15 AM

Manxpie, I’m not slating him in hindsight, I was slating him nearly every single week, the crazy substitutions, his persistence to play Jonas regardless of form…

No manager worth his salt would “Right off the season from the summer”…

And heres an idea, how about trying to find a formation that suited the staff at his disposal? Crazy idea … I know!

  • 47 SeanNufc87 // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:17 AM

Pardew rules, you all drool. Im drunk, suck it.

  • 48 Dondatta13 // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:22 AM

Sorry guys, I’m not going to get into a Pardew bashing debate…

I know what I saw with my own eyes and lets be frank, his record speaks volumes tbh..

    Before I finish though…

One quick question, What’s your opinion on bringing HBA back from a long lay off on a cold night playing on a plastic pitch?

It’s decisions like this that IMHO are unforgivable… It’s just excuse after excuse after excuse im afraid.

  • 49 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:25 AM

i didn’t say he wrote of the season from the summer but that he didn’t get the tools he needed for a season in the pl and europe everyone and there mums seen that except obviously lamearse n ashley
but as the season went on it became extremely obvious with the build up of injuries our squad was shocking so tell me who should have replaced cisse on the right of a front 3 arfa weren’t available btw and who should have replaced jonas (marv was shocking every time he played there) but i suppose we did have ober our ONLY other winger??

  • 50 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:27 AM

and 5 signings in january prooves how fcuked he was squad wise!

  • 51 Sazzer // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:30 AM

Bojan going on loan to Ajax. That probably mean that they will or can sell De Jong. Question is which team will it be besides us.

  • 52 Sazzer // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:31 AM

De Boer: If a club called regarding Siem de Jong, and there is a good deal, we will shake hands and wish each other good luck.

  • 53 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:32 AM

well arfa was telling everyone he was ready to play remember? and pardew got another slanging for that lol
and again thats hindsight for ya
pardew ain’t a doctor or physio surely they would advise not just pardew but arfa aswell not to play but they obviously all agreed didn’t they but obviously pardew had his whip out orderin arfa to play in the arctic conditions!

  • 54 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:33 AM

sazzer great news but i wonder wats a good offer? wat you reckon?

  • 55 Dondatta13 // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:33 AM

Simple and straight forward like I stated before…

You find a formation that suits the playing staff you have at your disposal.

What you don’t do is persistently play players out of position, this is detrimental to the team and the confidence of the players that are being asked to do a job that is alien to them.

    Excuses, excuses, excuses Zzzzzzzz

  • 56 Sazzer // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:34 AM

Also it’s good news that Liverpool missed out on Mkhitaryan.

  • 57 Dondatta13 // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:35 AM

manxpie, Im no doctor and even I knew THAT decision to play HBA on THAT pitch was NOT the way to go..

Had he looked after HBA, maybe took medical advice, HBA would have been available for selection in the very position we are discussing

  • 58 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:36 AM

infact the more i look at that quote it sounds like he’s sayin something thats already gonna happen (already happening)
    hope its us!

  • 59 Sazzer // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:37 AM

It’s going to be about what we paid for Anita and Chelsea for Van Ginkel. So 7-9 m £.

  • 60 Dondatta13 // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:38 AM

Im done… Away to watch a film. I can’t be bothered to go over the failings of Pardew AGAIN… Way to depressing…

  • 61 Sazzer // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:40 AM

At least for Ajax to accept a bid. Then it might get higher if competition makes it so. Then it might be more like the fee of his brother.

  • 62 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:43 AM

wat so your saying a player worth millions of pounds was just chucked in to play a game without any proper reports of how his injury had healed?
i’m sorry but your obvious hatred is clouding your opinion because thats bonkers like especially since the squad was dropping like flies at the time anyways!
and he’d already been missing for about 2 months before that so that position was fcuked for alot of the season

  • 63 Dondatta13 // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:44 AM

    Manxpie… Blind faith… I admire your optimism.

I can see the hoofball merchant for the inept egotistical idiot he is..

Good luck NUFC… Your’e going to need it!

  • 64 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:46 AM

thats not a bad price like do ya know how long he’s got left on his contract could be a factor if he’s bringing in a replacement?
ya gettin me hopes up here sazzer 🙂

  • 65 Dondatta13 // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:50 AM

Manxpie… Good grief fella, any physio, medical staff that recommended HBA play that cold night on a plastic pitch after 2 months out, should be taken to the closest wall, blindfolded and SHOT!

Closely followed by the idiot who selected the team…

Here’s a fact for you, Coloccini, Ba, Cabaye have all crossed Pardew regarding his tactics and team selections.

    But what do they know?

  • 66 Sazzer // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:50 AM

I hope so otherwise it means we miss out on a another target Bojan.

  • 67 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:54 AM

    dondatta blind faith??
sorry but i’ve give ya perfectly reasonable answers to the questions and i believe the men above pardew were more to blame last season i just hope this window they have learnt there lesson but i suppose you’ll be even happier when jfks i charge!

  • 68 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:57 AM

show me the proof of this then except from ba coz he was unhappy when the TEAM was playing its best football!??
when did cabeye slate pardews tactics?
where did collo slate pardews tactics?

  • 69 toonking // Jul 6, 2013 at 1:57 AM

have i ever showed you that hoofball is caused when you have a midfield which is rubbish ate creating chances which ours is
marvo and HBA are both designed to go through the centre , Jonas and obatan are the only two wingers we have and most of our crosses came from FB’s when they are meant to be preventing them.
so what happens we have to do hoofball

    it’s simple
    we were always
    getting things like this
    colo_____tiote cabaye_saylor
because A our wingers are rubbish with crosses
which causes the wingers to defend and the FB ended up doing the creativity
HBA always goes down the middle so theirfore it was easier to close him down and cisse would get stuck offside

the best way to play should be wingers creating the crosses then the forwards attempting them and if they miss then HBA or marvo attempte the rebound because they will have lot’s more space.

  • 70 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 2:00 AM

aye sazzer it sounds like he’s got a crazy contract/ownership deal tho?
could do with the both of em lol

  • 71 Sazzer // Jul 6, 2013 at 2:00 AM

It’s two year left on his contract. So he might stay another year.

Few ITWhispers hold him as our top target now with PEA out of the picture.

  • 72 Novocastrian66 // Jul 6, 2013 at 2:02 AM

There are a lot of people going on about the money from the new t.v. deal. What they need to remember is that clubs will not get any money until the end of next season. Therefore Newcastle do not have the money in the bank.
One of Ashley’s biggest issues with the finances of NUFC under the previous regime was that they spent money based on future income, not on the actual financial situation.
Ashley will not spend money the club does not have whether it is gauranteed or not.

  • 73 toonking // Jul 6, 2013 at 2:03 AM

i can see lot’s of them pardew bashers changing their name when they see the result if pardew does go.
these same people complain that we not bring in enough players when we shouldn’t need any more if they think pardew was to blame for last season.

  • 74 toonking // Jul 6, 2013 at 2:04 AM

    anyway good night

  • 75 AMEOBI // Jul 6, 2013 at 2:06 AM

Andy Carroll was in house of Smith about 1oclock.. looks like a pillock with his hair the way it is mind

  • 76 Dondatta13 // Jul 6, 2013 at 2:07 AM

Since this discussion started you have vehemently defended the indefensible, namely, Pardew…

I will grant you the role that the board played in not adding to the squad in the Summer.

But the manager was defunct of ideas and incapable of changing his ethos and approach.

When your club captain wants to leave mid season, your creative midfielder suffers depression and your team is a hairs breath away from relegation, it speaks volumes.

  • 77 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 2:07 AM

good point toonking i said last season where was our width?
we’ve got jonas who has had to cover since enrique and ober who is the only player in recent times to boil my piss when i watch him play again that is down to poor squad depth!
we waited 2 seasons at least to strengthen our defense!!
my only hope in kinnear is he might, might! know what a full squad needs lol

  • 78 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 2:11 AM

novo thanks for the conformation look at the 1st few posts i said other clubs seem to be gambling with it but it sure makes for a more exciting league

  • 79 Dondatta13 // Jul 6, 2013 at 2:11 AM

“There are a lot of people going on about the money from the new t.v. deal. What they need to remember is that clubs will not get any money until the end of next season. Therefore Newcastle do not have the money in the bank”….

Purely by the fact we are playing this season in the PL… That money is guaranteed, The only thing in doubt is the exact amount in relation to our finishing position.

  • 80 Dondatta13 // Jul 6, 2013 at 2:20 AM

“have i ever showed you that hoofball is caused when you have a midfield which is rubbish ate creating chances which ours is”..

So Tiote, Anita, Cabaye, Sissoko, HBA, are all gash now?

Could it be that they played gash because the ball is constantly flying over their heads up field?

  • 81 Novocastrian66 // Jul 6, 2013 at 2:22 AM

Dondatta13; agree, but it wont change the fact that Ashley will not spend what he doesn’t have, guaranteed or not.
Manxpie; Ashley will not spend over the odds one or two clubs are prepared to do that.

  • 82 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 2:23 AM

dondatta well all of that post is absolute tosh lol
cabeye admitted he felt depressed from not getting any rest after a long season and international comp (again more signings could have helped this 🙂 )
collo was widely reported as wanting to move for personel reasons and has since thanked pardew for his opertunity n belief in him
and pardew tried alot of ideas actually from trying cisse n ba together then having to play cisse out wide to accomodate ba because arfa was injured (remember no 1 wanted ober there including me) then he had to manage without cabeye krul collo ba arfa saylor santon throughout the season
to me that means he had to change his “ethos” quite a bit??

  • 83 Dondatta13 // Jul 6, 2013 at 2:24 AM

If the great Oaf doesn’t spend, then NUFC will trump last season by one position and actually plop out of this league.

  • 84 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 2:29 AM

dondatta sissoko came in january arfa wasn’t available for most of it
cabeye n tiote had shockers most of the season and anita was adapting
ofcourse he wasn’t sayin they were gash!
again can you show me this proof of collo and cabeye slating pardews tactics?

  • 85 Dondatta13 // Jul 6, 2013 at 2:37 AM

So Colo, Cabaye and Ba didn’t fall out with Pardew regarding tactics and playing style?

    Is that what your saying?

How soon after did Colo want out?

Cabaye’s depression… Funny how that reared it’s head while we played out crap hoofball week in week out… It’s enough to give me depression just watching… Lord knows what a player as good as Cabaye was feeling.

Take ya head out of the sand…

This is getting way too boring now.. im off ciao!

  • 86 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 2:43 AM

yeah novo thats the problem pea i believe was worth it could be proved wrong but if he had even 1 good season in the pl his worth could rise by 10 mill!
i understand the blue print by ashley and we have got good pontential and (a couple of top) players but i think we definatley need to splash the cash on some occasions on the right players but i cant see it happening

  • 87 manxpie // Jul 6, 2013 at 2:59 AM

well i started of quite jovial you brought up slating pardew dondatta
and that report on collo prooves nothing on pardews tactics or team selection infact if i said his personal life was getting on top of him and he snapped infront of him it would have just as much substance
and cabeye said exactly wat i said previously from his mouth which imo has alot more substance to it than conspiricy theories so who’s got there head in the sand??
night fella but i’ve answered every question you’ve asked with reasonable answers so really who is the 1 with the warped mind lol
    remember who’s lying in wait!!?

  • 88 ochytoon // Jul 6, 2013 at 3:25 AM

Caring less and less about the club every day. It’s just all so boring, and has been for the last year or so. And this isn’t about not sticking with the club through the hard times, its about the enjoyment of supporting NUFC being sucked out of me. I now find it a chore to come to this site and skim read the articles which often have little to no substance to them (no offence Ed). When you can’t find fun in something, whats the point in carrying on?

  • 89 Dondatta13 // Jul 6, 2013 at 3:57 AM

Really? Like Cabaye, the consummate professional would come out and say his depression was caused by the dire running of the club/team?

True, I have read between the lines on the Colo story I posted for you… The simple line by Pardew “I said to him, look, we’re both winners” tells me there was a difference of opinion regarding team matters.

You have defended Pardew to the hilt, kudos for that but talking to you is actually like listening to the man himself, blame everything except himself!

Not once, have you acknowledged Pardews fault in anything, nothing, nada, zip, zero…. That in itself speaks volumes matey. A true to life Teflon don if ever such a thing existed.

I admire your loyalty, obviously, you have found your messiah… Im sure he will lead you to the promised land, whatever league that may be lol

  • 90 Charlietoon // Jul 6, 2013 at 4:02 AM

Dont know what everyone is going on about. Joe already signed Sucko, debucherous, MbigW and Goofan.

  • 91 Jail for Ashley // Jul 6, 2013 at 6:24 AM

    Marty toon,
The squads ok, we only need a striker, is thst right, thats what a few said this time last year only with a CB needed instead. Don’t you get it, if we don’t improve the squad it will again send the message out that we are happy to amble along in midtable which imo has a demoralising effect on players and fans.

  • 92 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Jul 6, 2013 at 6:38 AM

The experts always this would happen with the extra TV money; fees will go up for both player and agent and wages will go up!

…in the end technically there won’t be more money to spend it will just even it self out!

Everyone wants a piece of the money-pie 😉

  • 93 cyprus // Jul 6, 2013 at 6:40 AM

    Jail for Ashley,
I agree on that, this team, as it stands, is just not good enough. Simple. But, there are elements which are better than we’ve had in the past. Internationals all over the place. So, it’s not doom and gloom as one would suspect reading this blog, really.

We do lack speed, movement, creativity, set play and other tactics, more finishers and options. Details, really 🙂

  • 95 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Jul 6, 2013 at 6:46 AM

By the way Dortmund is also buying Mkhitaryan!

  • 96 cestriasteve // Jul 6, 2013 at 7:06 AM

JFA, I’m with Martytoon I think we need width and a CF I think we should see how Curtis Goode progresses this season.

We should have bought Mertens and Lens both prolific goal scoring wide players, Ill stop going on about it now. Tom ince would be a good start.a

Getting back to the CB issue bring anyone in and dropping him into the EPL will be a tough ask unless that is he already plays in the EPL.

On the finance side of things if wages can remain the same as last season therefore controlling costs in line with last year what will we make at the end of the season?

  • 97 Jail for Ashley // Jul 6, 2013 at 7:19 AM

So you think we’re ok this season but should have bought two prolific wide men ? So what do you think we’re good enough for, and was your ‘ how much will we make ‘ comment a wind up.

  • 98 ToonDanno // Jul 6, 2013 at 7:26 AM

Why is it always so doom and gloom on here!?

  • 99 cestriasteve // Jul 6, 2013 at 7:33 AM

No I’m just genuinely interested in the clubs financial situation, I am genuinely baffled that a team like Newcastle with 50k of us lot going every other week can’t compete with the likes of Swansea bizarre !!!

As for our defence I think Santon and Debuchy need to defend better as the CH were too exposed. Buying Yanga Mbiwa was a great addition and he will take this season to bed into the team. I think there is no point buying big as far as the defence goes, spend it on a CF, but I haven’t got a clue who that isa.

  • 100 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Jul 6, 2013 at 7:46 AM

cestriasteve…more or less eveyone who is man enough to admit it will be baffled that our team couldn’t finish in the top 12 without a preblem!

…and the funny thing is that with 5 additions in january everyone was screaming about we ended up having a worse second half season than first half.

The funny part here is actually that our first half was so bad that one would have thought having a worse second part would be impossible!

But certain bloggers still find excuses or stick to their guns 😉 I have given up on these people a long time ago! It is pointless!

  • 101 FloridaToon // Jul 6, 2013 at 7:53 AM

Altidore to the scum(ESPN report), shame would have like to seen us get him.

  • 102 scout // Jul 6, 2013 at 8:20 AM

Someone tell ashley the story about shearer signing for 15 million nearly 20 years ago ffs spend some money, im getting bored with it and does kinnear deserve a holiday? The man has been in the job about a month, i cant imagine this going down to well in SD if a new starter came aboard although you’d think they were trained by a greyhound looking at some of them

  • 103 Toon_Tom // Jul 6, 2013 at 8:24 AM

I can hear Pardew’s comments in his next interview….

“next season Marveux will be like a new signing”

  • 104 IITianToon // Jul 6, 2013 at 8:30 AM

Should be starting XI against City if no new signings are made.

  • 105 IITianToon // Jul 6, 2013 at 8:32 AM

Ed can you please make a post on the Davide Santon interview.. for the benefit of non NUFC TV subscribers!

  • 106 peaco1980 // Jul 6, 2013 at 8:33 AM

Good to see manxpie back, albeit retaining the delusion that Pardew and his methods were not at fault last term. Will manxpie defend him this season if it all goes to sh*t again? Well Manxpie defended the indefensible last season, so i look forward to some more creative excuses.

  • 107 toonarmydownsouth // Jul 6, 2013 at 8:36 AM

Not too long ago our genius owner was looking to offer this clown a role in our youth set up

Mike Ashley, you sir are an absolute ****

Seriously every club in the league are taking full advantage of the increased TV revenue except you, Swansea are showing you how it should be done when you qualify for Europe, just like hew Jenkins said he would

Oh I forgot, we owe the very existence of the club due to your immenses generosity

  • 108 IITianToon // Jul 6, 2013 at 8:38 AM

Have you ever seen Colo and Mbiwa hoof the ball? Why did Krul hoof the ball so much, because he couldnt trust Willo/Saylor to play out from the back.
I for one feel that the team will try to play football the right way, irrespective of Pards’ thinking.

  • 109 toonarmydownsouth // Jul 6, 2013 at 8:41 AM

So lads, just for giggles, which current PL striker would you like too see bought in that would be a good fit for us and show some ambition??

  • 110 NEWEXPATMAGPIE // Jul 6, 2013 at 9:05 AM

Now Ed ! I have not had the time to come on here all week !

There was a page spread in one of the newspapers here in Holland last week !

In the piece on them it was reported that the Boney Transfer had run into problems over his Salary, and the personal conditions of his contract.
Swansea City are in Holland as we speak busy with their pre-season training.
I did,nt realise this but their owner is a rich Dutch businessman which explains the fact that they have one or two Dutch players in their squad or players who have played in the Dutch Leauge!

As far as regards Boney, if he demands a sky high salary and Vitesse demand a high transfer price then i have to ask myself !

Is he really worth spending so much money on?

Chelsea completed the signing of Van Ginkel from Vitesse last week too !
