The is a report in le10sport that Newcastle have made an offer for QPR striker Loic Remy.
Loic Remy – Newcastle interested
Queens Park Rangers returned to training last Monday and Remy was part of the group, but of course the Frenchman is not expected to stay at QPR and he had a release clause inserted into his contract when he signed in January.
The release clause for £8M or even less, was what he would be sold for this summer if QPR were relegated – which they were – as the very bottom club.
le10sport.com are reporting that according to the information they have, the French international is interesting Newcastle, and the report says that a tender (a bid) has been submitted to QPR.
This report is from last Friday, but it also goes against the recent news reported in the Evening Chronicle, that Newcastle were going to pass on the chance to sign Remy.
But while Remy spurned Newcastle’s offer in January (what was he thinking?), he looked a very good player in the Premier League and he scored 6 goals in 14 appearances for a struggling QPR side this year.
Remy would make an excellent strike partner for Papiss Cisse, and with their movement, speed and goals scoring prowess., they could striker terror into opposing defenses – love it
And when Newcastle officials meet with him, they should slap him across the face a few times, but then tell him all is forgiven. 😀
We hope this report is true, and that we sign this 26 year-old French International, because at £8M or even less than that, he would be an excellent buy for the club, even though he made that daft decision to join QPR in January.

Comment #3Unless we can get a clause where we pay qpr end of september and cancel the deal of he gets locked up, this could end badly.

Comment #5I would sign Remy instead of Bent and bring Charlie Austin in as well. Cheap strikers (in terms of value for money).

I dont have the game, but goofy is clearly out of position. He is a wide forward, a support forward or even a centre foward. Any of those 3 positions instead of right midfeild where you have him. 😀

Comment #16personally, i wouldnt touch him. last season he went to QPR just for the money – a get out clause if relegated- full of principles eh, and a court case for rape hanging over his head. come on i thought those days were behind us . hes trouble.!

I’m with you on that.
This could end badly,we don’t want another Joey circus at the club.
No point buying a decent striker if he gets put away and even with a clause to cancel that leaves us down the swany without a paddle for strikers if we then lose him.
We will need a plan B but our boardroom like plan B’s to be put through 6 months too late

Comment #18Remy is trouble. And I can’t see him coming on wages. Besides he’s a mercenary – if he scored 15+ goals he’d be away to the next Chelsea just like Ba.
Quality player though, and there ain’t too many around so we not have a choice.
We should be spending big given the tv prize on the table.

If Kinnear hoping to sun himself, he’d need to go somewhere where the sun’s bigger in the sky.
Just visualise a beached whale, bless it.
Suggestions as to where he’d get such a big sun, on a postcard, please.

Comment #21The more I see of Charlie Austin’s goals, the more he reminds me of a typical bruising, no-nonsense finishing, English CF – http://youtu.be/KCDVsfVofSM
Blasted, accurate finishes and very good header of the ball. Definitely think he’s one who’ll make it in the PL.

Comment #22This Remy thing is a very difficult one to call…IMO at 7 million he’s cheap…even cheaper in real terms than bent at 5 million taking into consideration age and re-sale value etc…but yes he turned us down and yes he could be trouble and yes you have to wonder what sort of character he is…
…but then again we are getting desperate aren’t we!
I think on balance he’s worth a punt at that money and he’ll be amongst friends who should help him settle down to normality if there is such a thing at the toon

Comment #24There will be some serious pressure on AP to start the season well or he could face a quick axe,the only thing to save him will be MA not wanting to pay him off the rest of his contract.
It would also put the big mouth in charge of the first team no doubt.
We should’ve gone after Laudrup when Swansea went after him,or that type of manager that knows how football should be played.
But then we all know that attracting a top manager to nufc actually isn’t that difficult but when having an owner like ours it’s almost impossible to get someone with a brain in

Comment #26Something needs to be written into a contract regarding the court case, for sure. I’d take him, as there’ll be no-one left to buy at this slow rate which the club ae moving at.

Comment #27He’s trouble! a mercenery! etc.
Sure but how many players can you include in that category, look can he score goals for us ?
Thats all we fans have to concern ourselves with, unless you want some kind of vicarious relationship where you think of yourself as an owner/manager.
Sign Remy and Alderweireld and sell Cabaye for big bucks, then bring in McCarthey from Wigan, who can do everything Cabaye can, perhaps better.
That’s it!

you are always seem to want it both ways.
the players were fine when we finished 5th and pardew stumbled on a 433 when raylor got injured and benny was finally given a game.
last season was totally down to pardew not having a clue how to deal with ba wanting to play centrally. that cost us over half a season while we morphed into different formations sometimes 3 in one game!
Personally I think Ash and Carr have done us proud with the squad we have but we have massively failed in appointing a manager on Llambias’ say so who always gets found out after a good start and simply has no plan B.
Players aren’t the problem, it is, always has been and always will be Pardew. Anita isn’t lightweight. He got 3 x M.O.Ms on the spin before Pardew brought Tiote straight back in.

Cisse – Gouffran

Comment #30Hope we can get him in as long as he gets cleared of all charges. Would like our strike force for next season to be ST-Cisse, RF-Ben Arfa, LF-Remy and Gouffran and Bent on the bench. Would also like to see Cabaye (if we still have him) in the CAM role instead of Sissoko and have him play in the holding role along side Tiote. Defensive partnership of Collocini and Yanga-Mbiwa looks solid and Taylor and another quality CB for back up. Would of loved to see us go for Sakho from PSG but now Collocini is staying I can’t see us going for him as him or Yanga-Mbiwa are to good to be back up.

Comment #31Has JoKe heard of Remy?
Can he pronounce his name?
Will ‘arry take JoKe’s telephone calls?
I’d love to see Remy at NUFC, but I doubt it’ll happen. Bent seems more likely.

Comment #326.5mil is what i’ve heard for remy and on the pitch the lad is a class act and very suited to 3 up top with cisse and goofy ! put bent into that for strength and the ability to change to 4/4/2 and i’m thinking we would have a great team with addition of wingers.
i just hope rumours of joke-kinear are not true and that he hasnt gone on holiday when we need to get our backsides in gear for signings.
