It seems that Newcastle will be looking to bring in two new strikers this summer, and if we can get somebody like Loic Remy through the door, then maybe Newcastle can bring in a young striker with good potential.
Jorgen Locadia – 19 year-old budding PSV striker
And one young player who had a good season last term was PSV’s 19 year-old striker Jurgen Locadia, who scored 11 goals in 22 appearances for the Dutch side, and played alongside 24 year-old Tim Matavž, who we profiled last night.
Jurgen began his career in 2001 when he joined VV Bargeres at just seven years old, and he then he played at FC Emmen, RKSV Sarto and Willem II before joining PSV in 2010.
Locadia made his debut in September of 2011 for PSV, when he came on as a sub in a KNVB Cup match against VVSB, and just a short eight minutes after coming on he scored his first goal for the PSV club.
But in that season he made only two appearances with that one goal for PSV
Jurgen was born in Emmen in the Netherlands, and he’s played for all the Dutch Youth sides from U17 through U21, but only once so far for the U21 side, so he is still developing at just 19 years old.
He turns 20 until November, and it could be a good time for Newcastle to consider the 6’3″ striker, and at the moment he would come at a decent price.
We have been told that Graham Carr has been scouting players in the Eredivisie last season, so we wonder if this lad has caught Graham’s attention?

Tbf had he been fully fit, at any point, he may of done but Christ the lad is ruined by injuries. Good luck to him and all that but he’s been little more than a wage drain for us

We’re a club that is breaking even financially.
We’re set to get at least an extra £25m from the bumper tv deal.
We’ve so far made £1.7m profit in trading this window and reduced the wage bill by an estimated £60k pw.

Comment #20Goodbye Gosling shame it never worked out for you I hope the Toon have some sort of sell on fee included because it would just be our luck that he turns into a decent player who stays injury free!!!
As for this 19 year old striker SIGN HIM UP we have to sign players younger now to compete because we have waited to long for targets and then they become real players we could have signed PEA last year but did not and then it was too late
Just hope Pardew has looked over last season and realizes that he can no longer play defensive football if he gets us to play attacking football then thats about 60% of the problem cleared up and if he has no Shola, Perch and Gosling to call on by the start of the season thats the other 40% gone as he would need to actually give the youngsters a proper go in the team !
Last season when the youngsters got a chance we were playing shite longball football which does not suit them and the senior players let the youngsters down as well for example SHola getting sent off against Brighton thats setting an example !!!

Comment #22My lasting memory of Dan Goosling will be that ridiculous handball against Everton which would have cost us the game and that needless sending off against Norwich which didn’t cost us the game but definitely ruled out the possibility of an unlikely point.

Comment #23newcastle need a top top striker every team needs one you have to have a player in the team who instills confidence in the people who are playing behind them we missed that when ba left we always new when he played we stood a chance of at least a goal the same with shearer the same with carroll ,i think we should a signed abel hernandez he is a great player and pablo sabia another top young player ,both these are available ,abel hanandez s club just been relagated he is available at probs 4 million

Comment #28em less of the cheek a was just keep spouting these two names coz there brilliant ttalented players who would be perfect for us and am just hoping they get looked at because it would be stupid not o ,they for me are best cheapest options for us probs pick both up for under 10 million ,they have had no one linked to them but sunderland ,i just hope we dont regret not getting these two in

I guess it wouldn’t hurt if we have the pair of them develop an understanding relationship by playing alongside each other from a young age.
In the long run that would be very beneficial, having two strikers that qualify under the homegrown rule who have a history of playing with each other. Would make the potential progression to first choice strikers that much easier.

Comment #32Shouldn’t Campbell be out on loan next season anyway and if we sign a 19 year old Dutch forward you could leave him be in the Dutch league for one more season to develope?
Eventually we gonna need more than one forward and what if Campbell doesn’t make it (it is not like it haven’t happened before is it 😉 )

Comment #35JK brought in to sell players and he is doing ok to date. He is the man with (self confessed) connections in the game. If he gets more youngsters out on loan next season then he justifies his employment for me.
We have done well to date attracting players with the former set up, that has not been the problem, we need to turn over players to improve the squad. Still some deadwood to shift.
Don’t expect players coming in for a while. We need to shift all players on 1 year left on contract, assess squad and wait for injuries to strike in pre-season. Plus PSG / Monaco threaten to going big for one or two of our players.
But, we desperately need a striker or two especially if we can offload Shola.
Big problems last season, ball retention, balls into box, off form / uninterested players and lack of goals.
Solution – sell inept wingers, we know who they are..
Buy workman wingers who can also whip a ball into the box. It is going to cost but will be worth every penny when we lock down defence and threat going forward.
Also play with 2 up front to give the winger a chance of finding a player.
We need more goals from midfield. Names for hardworking, goal scoring wingers?
De Jong would be a good example of attacking mid who would chip in with goals. Any others??

Comment #38I wonder if the sales of Perch and Gosling and hopefully a bit more of the dead wood is a deliberate tactic to force Pardew to have no option but to play the likes of Anita etc.
Pardew should take note of this too.
Winskill said: “Every coach has to be open minded. The game evolves and you have to go along with it. If you get stuck in your ways then you’ll be dead in the water.
“There were so many things that opened up my mind in terms of how to deal with people, new ways to work, new training regimes. You have to embrace them because the game is changing at a rate of knots.”
