Laurent Blanc – Cabaye – This Is A Wonderful Player

5:25 pm, Monday, July 8th, 2013 by Ed Harrison · 19 Comments

New PSG manager Laurent Blanc has given a fairly long interview with the French Daily L’Equipe today, and he talks about possible players coming to the Paris-based club this summer, and has a little to say about Yohan Cabaye, the Newcastle midfielder, who could be a target for PSG this summer.

yohan cabaye 321.

Yohan Cabaye – this is a wonderful player

Laurent talks about possibly going after players like Cavani, and that the Naples striker and Ibrahimovic “are compatible.”

And as far as reading things on the net in a foreign language,  if you want to have an instant translation  from any language to any other language, you can use Google Chrome, which has Google translate embedded into it – that’s a hint to fellow bloggers – in case they didn’t already know that.

This is what Blanc said about Cabaye:

“This is a wonderful player, but whether he comes depends on what players we have available – we are interested in him because he provides some things.”

We notice that word “depends” has crept into the discussion, so maybe PSG will be put off by the fee Mike Ashley will demand for one of Newcastle’s top players, and that is likely to be £25M.

If PSG really want Cabaye then that’s the cash they will have to cough up to capture Yohan, and somehow we don’t think he will be leaving Newcastle this summer.

While Yohan struggled a bit in the last few months of last season, he did have a lot of pressure on him, and we’re sure he’ll be as good as ever next term – we hope he’ll be as good as ever next term.

What do you think?

So how many of you believe we’re signing Sinclair due to sky sports slashing there odds because they might lose some money?

If true, this will be a big test for Cabaye of personal ambition over possibly his loyalty to his French colleagues at Newcastle.

Possibly the richest club in France and in the capital and being seen by the French national selectors every week, why wouldn’t he move.

Certainly his wife will have her say as it has been suggested that she isn’t too happy with Newcastle and the North East. Life in Paris instead of Newcastle for her. Not much of a choice really.

I suppose the obvious wish would be cash+gameiro, if he has had a change of heart about fighting for his place.

    toonking on previous article.

I’m sure Cisse had the same opinion on playing centrally. He’s said recently something very similar. The team was playing its best football with Ba on the left of a front 3, even then they were switching throughout the game. It was effective and a lot more fluid.

Until then he persisted with a 442 for many games which again, looked clumped together and disorganised.

Ba stamped his feet and Pardew followed, yet left anyway.

That 433 should have been continued for a lot more games and still should With Gouffran or Remy there. Not as 2 covering fullbacks but attacking forwards.

As for tracking back, Ginola and Robert were utilised for their positive productivity. When you do that, you’re automatically doing less defending. Something which park the bus Pardew should start to realise.

They were doing that with Bez and Bernard bombing on as well.

Pardew is at least a league out of his depth, so there’s no wonder he isn’t making the obvious changes. He’s incapable of doing so. Proof is in the team performances, tactics, players selected and at times, crazy substitutions.

@ 10. You beat me to it. Definate tapping up

  • 18 Premiership Manager // Jul 8, 2013 at 8:46 PM

People need to get real with figures £25M is way off the mark and my guess is a firm offer of £12-15M will be more than enough to see Cabaye out of the door.

Much of the transfer talk is pure speculation and lets face it if Cabaye was worth anywhere near £25M there would be a line of clubs queuing for his services.

Same stories, no foundation and price wise a mile off the mark.
