Newcastle Again Linked With Senegal Defender

10:39 am, Thursday, July 11th, 2013 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 230 Comments

Newcastle were first linked with Anderlecht defender Cheikhou Kouyate last November, and the news at the time was that Newcastle were looking to bring the 6’4″ Senegal defender in during the January transfer window.

Cheikhou Kouyate 99

Cheikhou Kouyate – 23 year-old Anderlecht defender

That didn’t happen, and instead we brought in five Frenchmen, three of whom were defenders, so we don’t know if a priority is another defender in this summer]s transfer window, with Fab Coloccini now deciding to stay at Newcastle.

His agent Tedir Bekir had this to say on the Brussels web-site La Derniere Heure yesterday:

“I won’t give any names, but Cheikhou has contacts with clubs from the middle of the table in England,”

“He hasn’t made a choice yet. The right balance between the sporting challenge, family and finances has to be found.”

The big lad can play at center-back, but has also played in defensive midfield, so he seems a versatile enough player. He joined Brussels FC in 2006, from his home town club ASC Yego Dakar, and then moved to Anderlecht in 2008, after rumors that Arsenal had been scouting the player that summer.

Anderlecht were said to want around €7M for their star player late last year, but if that’s true we cannot see Newcastle paying that amount for a center-back, but maybe Mike Ashley can surprise us.

Kouyate has played around 200 times for Anderlecht with 8 goals, and 5 times for Senegal.

Newcastle want to increase competition for places in several areas of the side this summer, and Kouyate would certainly do that at center-back.

Comments welcome.

‘…clubs from the middle of the table in England, ‘

This could be any of about 10 clubs.

  • 6 John Tudor // Jul 11, 2013 at 10:47 AM

yes just humour but if the debts were true just goes to show there are some dirty underhand dealings throughout the club of this i have no doubt but sadly no proof

  • 7 croftus5678 // Jul 11, 2013 at 10:48 AM

if this is true it would be a more perfect signing right now than i class douglas would have been !

season to get used to the prem while we still have collo/mbiwa who must be our main 2 cb’s then this lad to play bit parts of the season to get used to it then when collo goes mbiwa/kouyate.

  • 8 John Tudor // Jul 11, 2013 at 10:50 AM

but states he wants a british spine is kinnear overulling him from the Algrave

  • 9 Slank // Jul 11, 2013 at 10:52 AM

    Jack @ 3

Actually not a bad move by Pardew / club to remind those who were thinking about our purples that perhaps the way the club were hard nosed over the sale of Andy Carroll will be the same with any future bid for one of our players.

  • 10 Ben3arfa // Jul 11, 2013 at 10:53 AM

Pardew wanted a dominant centre back who is good in the air.

If we indeed had competent and ambitious transfer committee we would have gone after Felipe Santana who moved from Borussia Dortmind to Schalke for 1M Euros .

I dont think we are after Kouayate either .

if he’s more than 1 million MA won’t sign him, simple as.

  • 15 Slank // Jul 11, 2013 at 10:58 AM

    John @ 6

My anatomical knowledge may not be as good as it once was but isn’t a ‘spine’ down the middle?

Would this not be Cisse, Cabaye, Colo and Krul?

Can’t see them being replaced by Brits.

  • 16 Spreadthetoon // Jul 11, 2013 at 10:58 AM

With the loss of Perch and Simpson gone….we need to replace these players. People forget how thin our squad was last season.

Therefore we need a RB and a CDM of a better quality just to stand still! In addition to that we need a truly attacking midfielder….De Jong would be perfect (Siem) and then two fast wingers/ strikers…..i,e, Jermaine Lens and possibly Remy though not sure I want a problematic player and I was disappointed (very) that he messed us around re: QPR saga. Anyway we need 5 players….yet BAU…….we drag our feet in the transfer window.
I’m glad I’m busy with work as spending the summer tfr window on here would send me loop de loop! 🙂 I’ve heard they’re a good player in the Dutch league…..LOL 😉

  • 18 toon kk // Jul 11, 2013 at 11:08 AM

We could be in serious difficulty come the end of this transfer window, MA is once again choosing the tight b…ard root. It just takes a few of our better players sold and we’ll never get around to replacing them.
Our first game against man city is on sky sports, watch us get ripped apart.

  • 32 John Tudor // Jul 11, 2013 at 11:36 AM

i know what i see i’m sure 90% of the fans up here do, the its thesame excuses time after time, miss management and down right shoddy perfomances stemming from pardews inability to motivate ashleys refusal to correct it and kinnear well for being kinnear

  • 33 croftus5678 // Jul 11, 2013 at 11:39 AM

    @16 spread

imo we allready have better quality replacements for them in anita/bigi/dummet/santon/hairdryer ! obv santon or hairdryer would move to the other side for cover as i expect santon to be 1st team

we was overstacked in this area imo and needed to lose players so we can get cover in cb/wing’s and forward lines.

  • 34 TorqToon // Jul 11, 2013 at 11:41 AM

Who have we not replaced?? Ba. That’s it.

We are shipping out lower ability players right now! And its about time.

Our injury record is horrific. Through both bad luck, and poor rehab.

Management and ownership at times have been questionable. However, had it NOT been for MA we would be selling players dirt cheap, whereas now, we don’t have to sell anybody as we are financially sound.

    Add to that;

All top quality players, who we wouldn’t have if circumstance were different.

  • 35 Slank // Jul 11, 2013 at 11:41 AM

    John @ 32

Would you have said that after the season before last?

  • 36 toon kk // Jul 11, 2013 at 11:44 AM

What can change next season? Same slow players and a manager with the worst tactics in the premier league.

  • 37 nut meg // Jul 11, 2013 at 11:46 AM

Has anyone seen this guy play either in the flesh or full games on TV & i don’t mean on you tube ? I think we need a new CB who is quick cos I really think we will play a pressing game further up the pitch.Last season we were caught out a few times with balls played over the top of Collo/Taylor /Williamson & they were beaten for pace.I haven’t seen him /sakho & or some of the others CB’s that’s been mentioned so I’d like to hear from anyone who has. For me we need to have in order of priority 1/Siem De Jong 2/ Remy 3/ CB who is quick.

  • 38 John Tudor // Jul 11, 2013 at 11:48 AM

well torq ,never have i slated our squad and you may have a point ,but what if and it looks likely that the injuries will occur again regularly and the squad being as thin in places we will suffer big time and then you may say thats the fault of the negative vibe up here i can assure you that you and i will beg to differ but if im wrong i will be man enough to to admit it but im toon thru and thru and seen it all before i cant see my opinions being unfounded

  • 39 croftus5678 // Jul 11, 2013 at 11:49 AM

    @32 jt

i’m thinking thats unfair even for the agro they are causing atm !

i’m pretty sure almost all fans we have would not call the quality of player we have since ashley came in as we got some players we should not have got in cabaye/tiote/arfa/sissoko ect ect ect to the point of players like bigi/anita/hairdryer/marv considered backup players ! so i’m pretty sure our overall squad has got better.

i understand in seeing red as i have been doing it pretty much since jk got in 🙁 and with the fact everyone else inc teams below us are snapping up quality which is pulling us back and i personaly am getting annoyed that we need a few positions filled in order to improve ourselves to make a huge difference with just 2-3 players of quality but it aint happening atm 🙁

  • 40 John Tudor // Jul 11, 2013 at 11:50 AM

we have a manager that doesn’t have his mate watching his back, if he delivers more inept decision making as last season and can’t get the quality players that we have to play as they can, well, imo, he’s out, jk has no loyalty to pardew

  • 46 TorqToon // Jul 11, 2013 at 11:53 AM

John – and that’s the way to look at it. Just annoys me to hear and see people writing us off before we have a) strengthened, and b) a ball has been kicked.

I too am toon through and through. Born and bred. I don’t enjoy my makem mates ribbing me every day, informing me of all these players they are signing etc. Whilst we haven’t announced anybody of note.

What I do believe, is our signings, and squad will blow the scums away!

Should we fail to strengthen, and increase squad depth, I will admit you were spot on, and I was wrong and deluded.

However, I hope it’s you who has to admit I was correct! 🙂

  • 47 John Tudor // Jul 11, 2013 at 11:54 AM

pards is the only one talking remotely sense at our club atm !
he’s had time to reflect on last season and has come out with what we was all telling him (meh better late than never)
will things change ? i prey they do and will support him untill i find out they have not but i would rather pards be in charge saying what he’s saying (which is calming me down atm) than jk in charge saying what he’s saying.

  • 51 Slank // Jul 11, 2013 at 11:59 AM

The season will be the test for Pardew as he nearly got us to the Champions League in the season before last and nearly got us relegated in the last season.

He was terrible last season as was most of the team but I couldn’t praise him and his team high enough the season before last.

    We shall wait and see.

  • 60 croftus5678 // Jul 11, 2013 at 12:11 PM

    @47 jt

pea was way out of our class and just a dream i think most of us realised that if we was steady top 6 team then we may have had a chance but we are not.
remy was doubled his wages and if we had offered 50k more than qpr i’ve no doubt he would have come to us but we dont offer those wages so its another way we will lose out on players (no use moaning about wage caps it will not change and personally i think its a good thing)

when we get young french lads do you think they come to us because they love newcastle and supported us from 2yo ? they come because our wages in the prem is a lot more than in france so we are no different to other clubs.

if you find a player in another league not attracting massive clubs and is on a low wage i’m 100% certain he would come and thats what we have been good at over the past 5 or so years.

  • 61 John Tudor // Jul 11, 2013 at 12:16 PM

yes but we are not regularly ending up in the top 8 now why is that hell i take rejects from top sides who end up in the 1/2 div rather than the likes of pea there have been some stonkers

  • 62 John Tudor // Jul 11, 2013 at 12:23 PM

  • 64 John Tudor // Jul 11, 2013 at 12:24 PM

so while they are here its imperative to get the best from them with pardew no chance

  • 65 croftus5678 // Jul 11, 2013 at 12:26 PM

    @61 jt

i cant say fact in that only my opinion which is that pards the club (whoever it may be) fked up at the end of the season before last !
we had a great season had few injuries/lots of luck and finished 5th and thought as i did myself all we need to do is hang onto our top players and fine tune the 1st team ad everyone will be better next season >.< unfortunatly last season was the opposit of the season before and looking back on it we should have attracted the best players while in europe and had a 5th finish (but easy to say that now not so easy before the season started)

imo collo's relpacement although not urgent atm needs to be bought now so he's settled to the prem before collo leaves.

but 2-3 signings should be enough to get us into top 8 this season with any luck.

  • 66 John Tudor // Jul 11, 2013 at 12:29 PM

Just read in a previous post that we have a great squad that Ashley has funded, yet another misconception, since Mashleys disastrous reign we (he) have made around £ 25M/30 M in transfers, so not only has he NOT funded this great squad we have but there is a sizeable amount of money missing and as the debt has increased since he got here ig hasn’t been used to pay off our loans.

  • 74 Macas // Jul 11, 2013 at 12:42 PM

NUFC for sale – Kinnear doesn’t push the deals through, Charnley does, so it’s pretty irrelevant that Kinnear is away to be honest. From the sounds of it Kinnear, Pardew and Carr have already got together and decided on our potential targets.

    @73. Jail for Ashley
“since Mashleys disastrous reign we (he) have made around £ 25M/30 M in transfers, so not only has he NOT funded this great squad we have but there is a sizeable amount of money missing and as the debt has increased since he got here ig hasn’t been used to pay off our loans”
Crikey… brainwashing tosh! You seem to have amazingly ommitted the fact that during our year in the Championship, our costs were way above our revenues, but we kept a team good enough to get promoted. And who funded this circa £30m??? MA.

  • 99 croftus5678 // Jul 11, 2013 at 1:14 PM

i see this blog has turned into a “unless its negative comment dont bother writing” or “unless its possitive dont bother writing” blog ^^ as long as its not made up and there is fact behind it both sides need to be looked at t get a full story otherwise you will be classed as a hater or a lover !

i understand to a degree those lovers as its there team and they are loyal and proud of them and only want to cheer there team on .

the pure haters i dont understand though ! if they ignor any positive and only want bad things to happen how can they be a supporter and still call all those players for not playing on the field or caring about the team if they take more money or leave the club when imo they are the same if not worse as its directed at our club !

  • 100 pawl250 // Jul 11, 2013 at 1:15 PM

ACTUALLY Jail for Ashley you are wrong!

Since Ashley came in 2007 we have had the following net spends

    7.5m 07/08
    -2.25m 08/09
    -24m 09/10
    -24.75m 10/11
    11.6m 11/12
    13.5m 12/13

Leaving 16.15m in the negative BUT

It would also be worth noting the club made a loss of approx 32m that year we were in the Championship.

This loss was offset by the money from A Carroll, or atleast the majority of it. The fact we made 24m in sales in the same year of relegation by selling Bassong, Martins, Duff we still had the loss (30m) on our return. Which means that 24m is no where to be seen.

It would also be worth noting the team we had was good enough to return (proved by doing so) and therefore no investment was needed.

Assuming (because they did) you take those 2 negatives that effectively funded our stint in the Championship we have actually spent 25m in 2 seasons, even after taking off the money from selling players i.e. Nolan Enrique, Best etc.

SO it seems he learnt his lesson. The past 2 seasons we have spent

26m (12/13) and 23m (11/12), why would we not do the same this season? Ok we may sell Perch, and Gosling maybe even Cabaye but we still have spent the more money than taken the past 2 years, why do you feel this year will be any different?

Also MA put 32m into the club during our relegation, so again that is also worth noting. I mean we had the 5th or 6th (cant remember which) highest wage bill in the PL the year we went down.

He still had Colo, Jonas, Geremi, Barton, Xisco, Smith, Nolan and probably a few more on high wages (50k+) during that time!

He has put more money in than he has taken out yet some people seem to think he is the grinch!

Just cannot understand it, coming from me, in the financial world (my job) trust me he has put more money than out.

Look at the accounts yourself if you wish! You cannot lie in a multi million business like Newcastle United, why because they are constantly audited by a separate stand alone company which will NOT risk its own reputation in the process.

If you do not understand then fair enough, but if you do and ignore the facts then you are just stupid. Sorry but you are.

  • 102 Jail for Ashley // Jul 11, 2013 at 1:18 PM

    Looney toon,
It was because of his idiotic decision making that we were relegated and far from funding us he just chucked the 30M loss on top of the existing debt in which his greed and haste to buy the club at a knock down price failed to discover.

  • 103 AndyNUFC // Jul 11, 2013 at 1:18 PM

Croftus @ 99 – totally agree. I think maybe sun stroke / dehydration / lack of football activity is creating an abyss of negativity on here.

Sadly I really cannot be bothered with the blog these days – the community used to thrive with differing opinion and debating between many different people. Now it is the same users, repetitively making everybody else join their clan of opinion, any resistance is futile – and if it’s not that then it’s just having an attempt at the worst thought out, lack of any substance drivel.

Oh and the year we went down in pre season we spent 26m on likes of Colo, Jonas, Guthrie, Xisco (god!) and Bassong.

We sold NZogbia, Milner and Given in January for 26m, why?! Because they all wanted to leave! Not because of MA decision making.

IF Ashley had a little more ambition top players like Given, NZogbia (JFK, any fans with minimal intelligence knew the first appointment was bad enough, never mind the recent 2nd time. Who hired him?), Milner wouldn’t have left then.

Some math students need to look at the bigger picture and learn the lesson.

FatSam, KK, Houghton all required paying off
Agent fees, signing on bonuses and the like are hidden costs on top of any transfer fee

A season in the championship meant we lost a minimum 25m that year alone at least

our current player wages to earnings is over 66% in the prem – there’s a lot of running costs on top of that

As stated on several occasions people like to moan!

We could win the Premier League and people will still complain, perhaps we have not won the World Cup, which is impossible but hey oh lets complain!

Newcastle has the best team it has had since Bobby, and before that Keegan! I have witnessed numpty after numpty, and Shepard spending millions on has beens, but we actually are buying young exciting prospects. Albeit for the “right” amount, but so be it!

Our club will survive when others i.e. Leeds (nearly) and Portsmouth.

We should be looking forward to next season with the squad we have, a couple of players as stated Remy and De Jong and we are laughing up the table.

And they are not unrealistic targets, you are talking 15-17m altogether, when we are apparently willing to pay 15m for PEA alone. Not to mention any dead weight i.e. Perch, Gosling, Shola, Obertan get rid of them! Rather have upcoming youth that try than overpaid never will bes.

Time will tell, but am happy and thats all that matters overall =)

  • 162 croftus5678 // Jul 11, 2013 at 2:23 PM

    @148 stuart

yes the same team that was nearly relegated i class as very good.

we where top of the injury list in the prem and that was confirmed which is one reason that surely odds are we will not be that unlucky again !
second reason is we got 5 new players at the half way point that need to settle and learn the prem.
3rd was the injury to collo and that mbiwa did not sign untill jan meant our 2 cb’s was saylor/williamson (need i say more)
4th the players gone was pretty much no use to us and players that imo should have been picked ahead of them (bigi/anita) will have to play in there place now.
5th (small glimmer of hope i know but any hope is better than none) is that pards has recognised and said what most did see was going wrong last season so based on fact it cant be any worse it surely will get better.
6th the fact we have a lot less games.
7th we still have a fair bit of the window left so we may or may not still get players.
8th the fact all our weak areas was pointed out as priority’s in the transfer window (fact any player that comes in is better than what we have now which is jonas and ameobi)

think post is getting too long now so i’ll stop there.

John Tudor, My question to you @135
You haven’t named your team yet.

  • 167 pawl250 // Jul 11, 2013 at 2:33 PM

We should be happy we are still a club, we should be happy we are in the PL, we should be happy with our signings (based on previous signings i.e Arfa, Cabaye, Sissoko, Santon, Mbiwa, Debuchy, Cisse, Anita, Gouffran, Tiote, Marveaux) who have all been bought for excellent vaule.

Does he not care? Last I checked he has input more money than taken out. He has also invested in a squad good enough to finish in the top half, and still we are looking to improve.

Yes he is tight, but sometimes a ship close to sinking needs to be. If you had the money he had would you throw it away? No you would attempt to get best value you possibly can as it could end up costing millions of pounds otherwise.

He appoints JK, yes he is awful at interviews but seriously he had not been given a fair chance as of yet. Wait and see, I personally think it will not work, but time will tell.

Pardew, he is the 2nd longest serving manger for each club in the PL right now. Only behind Arsene Wenger, finally SOME stability rather than wasting money and effort on managers.

Hes not amazing, but he got us to 5th, give him a chance to turn it around! Hell you were all quick to jump on Bobbys back when he had a poor start and he was sacked from it! Typical fans, impatient.

I cannot see all the negativity, yet the hilarious thing is you say the club is the laughing stock, but in reality it is you, the complainer, never happy making it that way. You attract unwanted attention to the club, players and the press run and deliver you to the nation!

i cant answer that but there have been some players that are released at early stages of careers who drop down to lower clubs because there too light too small too slow who are late developers .there are some cracking young players not picked up by clubs who for some reason were overlooked . i never professed to know everything what i see in nufc i dont like .things that could be put right simply and cheaply

Everyone saying Mike Ashley is tight and tell me you would not be the same?!

When you get a phone contract or Car Insurance, you dont so oh thats £10, or £200 more I will go for the reputable brand over price do you?!

You don’t go to a car dealer and say I’ll take that car which is cheaper for a similar potentially better car down the road?

Its total contradiction because you expect people just spend millions on a player, because thats all he is to you, a player for your entertainment.

To Ashley its an investment, whether it increases his asset in the club, better re sale value, the cost long term, its all things to consider. People say “why not pay the extra million” ….. how about because that extra million could pay for perhaps maybe 1 week of the squads wages?

Money is fundamental in a business, our country is run Shepard like, spending £100 when we only have £70, its called debt! Atleast our club is not run that way!

Meanwhile, the rest of us are hurting, losing faith, and seriously disillusioned. Catch yourself on will you.

Ruddy, I simply implied the fans, and the majority were!!!

He is arguably the best manager the club had and people idolize Shearer to the point of pushing him out the door! Then have the stupidity to complain about managers not living up to him after……

    Fickle is the word, fickle!

As for Pardew he will never be given the fair crack of whip, simply because you are all negative and on him from the start. He is not the greatest manager, but he could be if you let him, how do you know if you say he isnt?

Oh wait I remember a stadiums singing Their is only one Alan Pardew, a song used for Bobby, that was 2 years ago?! Again bunch of fickle fans, that one minute love you, next hate you!

Its like SAF last year, or year before or AW last year when fans demand they leave, are they serious? The amount of success they deliver and they just demand them out because of a couple of decent seasons instead of winning things, JESUS!

Football is a horrid game, supported by horrid people! Its getting worse! I mean I read people wishing JK to die on here, how pathetic?!!

  • 186 Ruddy Marveaux-lous // Jul 11, 2013 at 2:50 PM

The nature of the industry is fickle.

I don’t like it either, but people are led by emotion when it comes to their football team.

Pardew hasn’t nearly done enough to warrant any form of comparison to SAF or AW, but considering that 2 of the most successful manager’s in English football had their critics how is it difficult for you to understand why Pardew is slated by the vast majority?

Simply put, he is not good enough and needs to go, as does Ashley. Don’t mention balance sheets, stability or any bull crap buzzwords. As long as we are aiming for midtable, playing mediocre dross they will never have my support.

Wishing ill on another human being is not on though.

  • 204 pawl250 // Jul 11, 2013 at 3:06 PM

Some clubs can spend money because they’re outgoings are not as much….. Norwich for example or Swansea name a player on £40k+ a week? Possibly struggle for £30k!!

Think about it, we have 10+ players on 30k or over! Probably 6-7 on 40k over 3-4 50k over 2-3 60k or over!

So them 3 on 60k, do the math 30k x 3 players x 52 weeks in a year thats 4.7 million we spend on those 3 players alone, over Swansea and Norwich etc. Then take into account we have other players like that too. Likelyhood is our players on bonuses too…. I know STaylor gets 250k a year if he stays at Newcastle as a loyalty bonus as an example!!

We don’t fill our stadium week in week out, we have a competitive price with likes of Norwich, as well as similar prize funds. Not like Arsenal or Man Utd double the cost of each game then have prize and finish money!

And we spend 20m a season on players for past 2 years, when did Norwich do that?

Yet they sign 2 players, or Swansea Bony which arguably is paid for by EL alone for them, and you expect they have more ambition?! lol

pea i dont think we would ever have got tbh even though i hoped we had.

sinclair prob 10mil from his swans stats and age/prem experiance.

just hope we sign 2-3 players before the end >.<

  • 210 pawl250 // Jul 11, 2013 at 3:13 PM

    Ruddy simple answer this

If you had £10 in your pocket, and only £10 for say the rest of the month

Would you spend say £35 on a night out say, borrow (aka debt) the money off family a friend?! BUT with the off chance you may not be able to pay them back as you say may already allocated all your next pay to bills mortgages etc?

Club made what £3m-4m profit last year?!

Why should we spend £15m on a player this year, now we have finished lower down the league, no EL …..

Surely you have to consider revenue will be down next year….. so why should the club go into debt?!

Same principal mate, too hard to understand? Why should MA pay £20 when he only has £10 to spend, when you would arguably to do the same….. unless you happy with debt?

  • 211 John Tudor // Jul 11, 2013 at 3:14 PM

  • 212 WWYCD // Jul 11, 2013 at 3:15 PM

Oh right hold on so because we have good players now we shouldn’t bother with these transfer window things anymore? Our buildings built and we are just waiting on the trophies to decorate it now

U seem to be under the impression everyone is after 20+million players on 100k when people would more than likely be over the moon with a 25mill spend on 3-4 players who’d improve us on various wages. A club the size of Newcastle should be investing ever summer like all other clubs

That’s not even mentioning the big bump in TV income this season but hey ur the accountant here fella u go crazy with that added money

its just snowballed so everyone has got defensive lol.
i agree with both in my eyes i dont care how much a player costs as long as the quality is there but we need to keep our eyes on other clubs also as if they get stronger we must also and if that does mean spending x amount more that extra league position or 2 will make up that money !

Ffs were football fans you boring git, nobody gives a flying fcuk about MA saving one or two million they want investment

You say the club only made £3-4 mil last year so why should it spend

How about because of the unbelievable amou t of money each and every fcuking club in the premier league has been gifted through TV rights this season
You use Norwich as an example of they can spend because they have lower wages, they also have lower tickets sales, season ticket sales, merchandise sales,
We average 48,000 every week, that’s 48,000 tickets sold/box’s hired food bought drinks bought programmes bought merchandise bought

Get a grip, or get a calculator and go bore some other blog with mathematical stats that no football in the world could give a toss about

  • 223 pawl250 // Jul 11, 2013 at 3:31 PM

    WWYCD –

Where did I say we wouldnt spend money, and simply happy with our team?! Recent trend says £20-25m, with 5-7m out …. We will spend money, but I think its not a necessity this season, arguably another striker or 2 is but that is it.

You simply asked why are other clubs buying, and we are not. Because we simply do not want the players they are buying, and ensure value for money.

As seen we will buy players worth twice the amount we pay for them. Sissoko we could sell for £10m+ now we paid £2-3million, this is not only good business but they are decent players. Cabaye is another example paid £4m can sell now for £20m+ and hes a good player. But some people rather buy Henderson for £16m or Rodwell for £16m and our club end if debt in the process…. aswell as having lesser players!

Probably because you are one…… you wish we did things like good ol’Freddy did them, buying has beens for 15m then seeing our club in 100m+ in debt! Woot score!

Ok mate, you simply have not got the brain cells to understand debt.

Debt is something you do not want to accumulate and soon needs to be gone for the FFP rules. Hence the introduction of money the next 3 years.

Nevermind though you being chairman we would be the next Pompey! No worries!

WE made a profit last year btw, Arsenal do, Swansea probably have this year, Man Utd could as they have 10x the revenue than any other club being worldwide.

They have a global following, they sell out 78,000 seater stadium week in week out, probably have another 78,000 on a waiting list.

Man Utd are one if not the biggest club in the world. Couple hundred in debt can be wiped off in a few years if needs be!

    It has to be, simple.
