It seems that Arsenal’s number one goalkeeper target, the Brazilian International Julio Cesar, who had an excellent tournament this summer in the Confederations Cup, may be returning to Italy at Napoli.
Tim Krul - Newcastle goalkeeper is going nowhere
And presumably that’s why there has been news that Newcastle’s Tim Krul is now in the sights of Arsenal, and Arsene Wenger has said he wants more competition for Polish Internationals Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Fabianski.
But the news that Wenger will bid only £7M or less, will mean that Tim Krul will be going nowhere this summer, and that fee would need to at least double before Mike Ashley would even think of parting with Krul.
Tim has had two good seasons as Newcastle’s number one goalkeeper, since he took over from veteran Steve Harper, and he’s one of the Premier League’s most promising keepers, and is likely to be in the Holland goal next summer at the World Cup in Brazil.
Tim is recovering from a dislocated shoulder he suffered against Sunderland, but he seems on track to make the first game of the season at Manchester City on Monday night, 19th August.
The 25 year-old 5 times capped Dutch international signed a lucrative five-year deal last year with Newcastle, and he’s been on Tyneside since Grahame Souness brought him in during the summer of 2005, when he was just 17.
There’s no way Tim Krul will be leaving Newcastle this summer.
