Now Everton Move In For Newcastle Target

News today that Everton are now interested in Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair, and according to reports are readying a bid for the England U-21 international and former Chelsea and Swansea player.

Scott Sinclair – Everton move in

The 24-year-old is a possible target of Newcastle United, and we were linked with him a couple of weeks ago.

Scott only moved from Swansea last summer after having a very good season in the Premier League when he scored 8 times in 20 appearances, and in Swansea’s previous promotion season he scored 27 goals in 50 games.

But Scott played only 14 times for Chelsea last season, and Everton boss Roberto Martinez is hoping he can sign the former Chelsea winger and take him to Goodison Park.

One reason that Sinclair could be a decent buy for Newcastle is that he could come at a bargain price, and Everton are keen to get in quickly for the winger, ahead of a possible Newcastle bid.

But striker is the position Newcastle have to fill much more urgently this summer, with the club already having plenty of wingers, so maybe the Tyneside club is not interested in Sinclair, although Scott can play up front as a striker.

Sinclair is on the Manchester City’s tour of South Africa at the moment, after he recovered from a blood clot last season, that forced him on the sidelines.

We don’t know if Newcastle are really interested in Scott Sinclair, but it would be a surprise if Newcastle are going after wingers, before bringing in at least two strikers to the club.

What do you think?

    Bills,
    Given that he is a coach and a manager and has been for a number of years, how is appointing him as a scout a good plan?? I’d say appointing a scout to do a scouting role would be a good idea. I’m fairly certain I never mentioned his place of birth, so you can put that rant back in it’s little box. If it was based on their place of bitrth, surely I would be all for Steve Stone doing any job hepleased.

    As for the Kinnear comment, I wasn’t happy with the appointment, but I was willing to be proved wrong by his actions. So far, we have the evidence isn’t exactly overwhelmingly positive is it? New signings promised twice, none arrive. Still time for him to change that, but his appointment was meant to speed up and improve our transfer dealings. Any evidence of that?

    As for players saying what a top bloke he is, well I know lots of top blokes, maybe they should have a job as DoF at Newcastle as well?

    Repost from last story

    It was me. I posted this last Thursday about 3-4 days before it came out at the weekend about Harford.

    Afternoon Lads,

    If you have read any of my posts before a close colleague of mine at work has good contact with someone who is related to a member very high at the club who unfortunately i can not name due to my job. When my colleague meets him he tends to come back and tell me what was said as i live in London and the only Toon fan in the office.

    He met him on Friday and mentioned a man called “Mick Harford” was going to be brought in over the weekend just gone as an Enforcer for JK. Take from this what you will as i am only 21 this name didn’t ring a bell until i searched him.

    I asked about the JK saga and this is what got me, take from this what you will but MA 100% brought in JK in order to have Pardew resign which was confirmed from his own gob. In Pardew signing the new contract he does have a clause inside where he is paid for the whole contract and which ever amount that is MA is by any means trying to get him gone. My colleague had no idea of replacement manager though.

    Also DL did not resign he was fired, MA grew sick of his lack of dignity and c*ck ups and was told he was fired.

    If you have any questions within limit feel free to ask, like i said i’m just passing on what i have heard and from meeting this person once he is a very good contact.

    In more important news…”According to widespread media reports in Spain on Monday evening, the Argentinian is set to be confirmed as the next Barca boss on a three-year contract following talks.”

    Basically, don’t expect any signings soon, JK will be on the phone to Hiddink sorting out a new assistant.

    If we dont sign somebody this week I think I will hang myself. Not sure if I can handle waking up every morning in hope just to be let down again.

    As for Sinclair we have never been in for him so another non starter for me.

    Its time to sell Cisse get some good money for him and re-invest quickly

    If he was so principled, he wouldn’t have come to meet Ashley and Kinnear, he would have turned them down flat.

    No !
    Lot of bluster to wet the fans appetites – unless someone goes for big money and by the time we sell it will be to late to get anyone in.
    Sadly we’ve been down this road before.

    Bills,
    Although being a mackem doesn’t help I think the biggest problem was the fact that the 20th richest club in the world was trying to hire somebody for a job that doesn’t exist anywhere else and that persons skills and expertise had never seen him rise higher than the giddy heights of Milwall and the fact that thevwords relegation seem to go hand in hand with the MH/ JfK partnership when youbread up on them.

    That’s what I’m thinking aswell, we won’t sign until someone goes maybe Cabaye and we’ll make 1 or 2 signings which won’t be enough.

    Since Sunderland have appointed their director of football , they have signe 7 first team players.

    Since Kinnear has been appointed, hes gone on a 10 day holiday and signed no one.

    What a piece of S*** that man is .

    I think this Sinclair would be an excellent signing.

    Good age, He’s hungry with a point to prove. Exciting going foward.

    I really think this lad should be brought in to replace the ageing Jonas.

    IITian…They certainly weren’t themselves under him, but saying that, didn’t he miss a lot of the season through his illness? Not sure it would be fair to pass judgement on his capabilities given the circumstances….

    Our friendlies? Well I didn’t actually see either so not too sure really. From what I have read, it was a decent first showing against Motherwell, especially considering a fair few first teamers weren’t included (I know it’s against Motherwell 🙂 ). At the end of the day, it’s pre-season, it’s the time to look at things that aren’t working and fine tune them ready for the season.

    Was a little worrying to read about the way in which we conceded those goals in the second game mind, but still, I shall not get hysterical quite yet.

    Good morning Lil, how’s tricks out there in Malawi?

    Picking up on your points, I feel that whilst the appointment of a DoF was a good move, events so far in Joe Kinnear’s tenure suggest he is not the right man for that role.

    He’s clearly talked himself up and convince Ashley that he’s the man to be his trusty lieutenant. It’s also clear from recent events that he most certainly not!

    He’s a disruptive presence in the club where he should be bringing harmony and cohesion;

    He a terrible communicator who does not command respect and authority with the media;

    He’s probably out of touch with football in 2013;

    He’s clearly out of his depth as judged on his contribution to seeing the product of the supposed SWAT analysis of the football side of the business;

    Apart from those minor weaknesses, he should go far!!

    Now, how does Ashley undo what has clearly been a questionable appointment? There lies his dilemma.

    Plenty of wingers Ed!??? mm let’s look at our ‘amazing’ options shall we; Obertan, Gutierrez, Sammy Ameobi, Fegurson and Gouffran and HBA if played out of position.

    To me that is very average indeed. We seriously need proper wingers that have pace, can cross and are a goal threat.

    Our wingers are shite, let’s be honest. The offer no creativity whatsoever!

    Strikers is essential but just as important are some wingers needed.
