Well another day with no news.

Looking like remy and gomis are both genuine targets though which would add much needed firepower to the team. Hopefully they arrive soon.

We then have a very decent 11 so there should be no excuses. We will have decent cover for most areas except the flanks.

The final pic should be santon

Papiss Cisse and Newcastle have reached an agreement that will see the Senegal striker wear the club’s Wonga logo on his shirt despite his religious beliefs.

“Cisse, a Muslim, had previously pulled out of Newcastle’s pre-season tour after telling the club he was not prepared to promote the money lending company.

“However, after a week of talks, both sides are satisfied with the outcome and Cisse is now available to play for Newcastle once again.

“Cisse has been training on his own while his team-mates have been on tour in Portugal but now he is expected to immediately rejoin the first team squad

nice pics. hope they all come back fit and on form, especially santon and hatem.

here’s a comparison between gomis and cisse. personally i think gomis could play the left wing forward position (like gouffran) but he is mainly out and out striker.

Im glad to see this resolved like. We all know papiss can be prolific if he gets good service and is confident. Glad we aren’t entering the season without him

From the BBC – I love Papiss Cisse

won’t believe it till I see Ashley wallowing in defeat after losing in Fifa.

  • 20 Bambams // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:15 PM

    Remy….. Where’s it reported fellas

  • 21 djm... // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:16 PM

Looks like the club used ‘that picture’ as a bargaining chip… See what I did there? ‘Bargaining chip’.

God I am really that bored.

  • 22 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:16 PM

    Manx…so what is the compromise?

…Will Cisse wear the Aspers insignia as well lol

OhShola…Gomis is not an inside forward; he is an out and out forward – probably a targetman of some sort (maybe a poacher like Cisse)

Remy could play wide on the left in an 4-3-3, but I fear we and going to be seeing a 4-5-1 just like last season (Pardew seems to confuse these two formations) ;-)

  • 23 IITianToon // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:16 PM

    Cisse!!! New signing :P

  • 24 Jamiemac // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:17 PM

  • 27 barkel // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:19 PM

Glad the cisse thing is over .. hopefully the blog returns to normal now

  • 28 plana // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:19 PM

Now that the Russians, have decided not to sign me and i have been rumbled as a poser muslim. I have decided to stay and take a vow of wonga.

  • 29 Ibizatoon // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:21 PM

    barkel…Ha ha…good one…blog return to normal…lol

Anyway, interesting if true on Cisse. I guess we’ll just sweep this one under the rug, it’s not like people have been calling him out the last few days and saying they want him gone….good job we didn’t jump the gun. Phew.

  • 30 Jamiemac // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:23 PM

Apparently sky bet have reduced odds to 1/3 for us to sign Remy. Still not getting my hopes up as this sort of thing has happened many times in the last few weeks without anything materialising.

  • 31 viv // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:24 PM

Loads of people saying Remys signing.

  • 32 Shadow_Shearer // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:24 PM

Breaking news on sky sports, Cisse will wear the wonga shirt. He will be like a new signing!

  • 33 Ibizatoon // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:25 PM

viv….And that’s different from every other day, how?

  • 34 Mister Tuff // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:25 PM

The Toon have proved themselves as useless in running a modern day football club. Even they are not that daft to sign a player who is on bail, and who might end up being charged and potentially facing jail. Remember he responds to his bail (probably) after the transfer window closes.

  • 36 viv // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:26 PM

Ibiza have you any decent news?

  • 37 Paulo Martins // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:27 PM

My pleasure guys to be able to share the photos and to see our lads here in Portugal.

But what I would really like, is to be able to go again to S. James Park and see a new game there, more opportunities will surely come. ?

    Remy signed, true?

  • 38 Bambams // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:28 PM

I have replied on fb to my mate re source of Remy signing along with several others
Cant find anything on any sites that he had signed. …..
    Anyone else?

  • 39 Ibizatoon // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:28 PM

Mister…Not so sure, you’d think that a nice deal could be struck given the circumstances surrounding Remy.

Signing injured players is one way of doing business, signing possible criminals? Why not aye?

  • 40 IITianToon // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:28 PM

Dude Remy can himself say he has signed, but as long as a better offer comes on the motorway for him, he will get off the car and sign for them. And keep in mind, there are PLENTY of football clubs on the road to Newcastle.

  • 41 Ibizatoon // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:30 PM

viv…Probably nothing that anyone on here wants to hear.

Tinman….You sure it’s not simply a case of them explaining to Cisse what a good company Wonga actually are and how many poor desperate people they help out on a daily basis?

  • 42 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:30 PM

I think I’ll enjoy a cold Newcastle Brown Ale; it is the. closest Newcastle related enjoyment I have these days ;-) lol

Ibiza…do you have Newcastle Brown Ale in Ibiza? How about Köstritzer? (my fav beer :-) )

  • 43 Ibizatoon // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:32 PM

Jesper…It’s funny you should ask that, only yesterday did I crack open a nice cold can of Newcastle Brown Ale…

Anyway, we have a new thread Jesper, shall we move with the times?

  • 44 plana // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:34 PM

Viv, has that answered your question? That guy never has anything worth bothering your good self about.

  • 45 Ibizatoon // Jul 25, 2013 at 3:37 PM

plana…Would “that guy” be me? May I ask what crawled up your backside and died?

    Struggling with the heat pet?
