The French web-site le10sport.com is reporting that Bafetimbi Gomis is closer to the exit door than he’s ever been at Lyon, and with the news yesterday from the Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas that they have received three offers for the player, le10sport is listing the clubs they think are involved in trying to sign the French International striker.
Bafetimbi Gomis – 3 bids already in for him
Bafetimbi Gomis is literally being pushed out the door at Lyon, so the hard-up French club can get some money for their star striker, before he becomes a free agent next summer.
Gomis is training with the U19 team at Lyon until his transfer is arranged, and the striker did not take part in the friendly game against Real Madrid on Wednesday, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
The web-site is listing five clubs they think could be in for Gomis, and they are Newcastle, Swansea, Aston Villa, Tottenham and Cardiff in that order, and the club that could be huge competition for us is Tottenham, and there was news earlier this week that Spurs had become interested in Gomis.
And since Swansea recently signed Ivory Coast striker Wilfried Bony for £13M, and Aston Villa had Christian Benteke sign a new deal recently, maybe the three bids made are from Newcastle, Cardiff and Tottenham?
Bafetimbi Gomis will only leave Lyon if he gets a good club coming after him with a decent wage offer, and he is quite willing to play spoil-sport, and see out the last year of his contract, as he tries to make the French squad for the World Cup in Brazil next summer.
We hope Newcastle have moved in with an offer that meets the Lyon valuation, and a decent compensation package is being offered to the 27 year-old striker.
Comments welcome.

The survey is on the controversial sponsorship between Wonga and Newcastle and it takes only five to ten minutes to complete.
Please help Ingo by taking the survey here – many thanks.

Comment #3Santon,Again with the exageration, nobody is blaming him for their car breaking down, right price ? Who determines that, was the 500K webtried to save on Debuchy worth the potential five places we dropped, and had a 19M spend been made in the summer we may well have been using that money to qualify for CL rather than fight off relegation.

Comment #5Looks like Inman could be set to join Crewe on a permanent basis and turn down his new deal at the club. Fair play to the lad, I’m sure with regular game time he will work his way back up the leagues.

I don’t think he was focusing only on NUFC, he was focusing on his main source of income since he’s not as rich as sheiks or abramovic. He has Llambias as Managing Director, that’s what he paid him for, to take owner’s spot in running the club just like any other big company. He was happy with the report and performance of the club especially when we got 5th until January when he took over the transfer dealings. When owner took over MD’s job, it could only mean one thing.
It seems like now he is more focusing on NUFC, he hasn’t point new MD if I’m not mistaken. If he hasn’t, that would mean he is charge now. So if we are f@cked up again this season, then it’s fair to say MA is the one responsible.

Comment #25We aint going to sign him,we might have made a bid but as soon as anyone else makes an offer we are out.
We need a striker but MA needs a cheap one he can make a big profit on.
Remember MA dont care about the club,we are a profit making enterprise.

Comment #28Morning lads, still all quiet on the transfer front. I must admit while I don’t class myself as anti-Ashley, Pardew etc. I am frustrated at the lack of activity – if we know our targets how long does it take to bid & negotiate? You start to wonder about how competent JFK is.

We’ve bid for Gomis,
We’re favourites to get Gomis.
We’re no longer favourites to get Gomis.
We’re back as favourites to get Gomis.
There are 5 other clubs in for Gomis.
Looks like he’s another one that we won’t “get over the line.”
