Midfielder Dan Gosling walked away from a possible deal with Crystal Palace earlier this week, after he was put in limbo after completing a medical in London on Monday, but the club did not contact him and he left to return to Newcastle on Wednesday.
Dan Gosling – needs to find a new club
It’s a blow to both Newcastle and Dan that the deal has fallen though, but the former Everton and Plymouth player will still be looking to leave Newcastle this summer, since he’s been told he has not future on Tyneside.
But news that Newcastle will give him the cold shoulder after he walked away from Palace is far from the truth, although both Dan and Newcastle will now be looking to get him to a new club before September rolls around.
There was news in SportsDirect News yesterday about Dan, and a Newcastle insider told them:
“It would be safe to assume that manager Alan Pardew and [director of football] Joe Kinnear would look for another club for him.”
It could be that Crystal Palace will revive the deal, but Dan was not impressed with the way he was treated at the London club, after being on Tyneside for three years, and it’s unlikely Palace will pursue the deal.
But Dan could be a good signing for a club like Hull City or even Cardiff City, as the two newly promoted clubs try to strengthen their squads to survive in the Premier League next season.
