Pardew – We Scored Two Fabulous Goals – We Were Terrific

11:41 pm, Tuesday, July 30th, 2013 by Ed Harrison · 14 Comments

Newcastle played extremely well tonight at St. Mirren,  and while it was only a 2-0 win Newcastle carved out a number of good opportunities and we looked a very good side and it could have been a lot worse for St. Mirren,  with top stars like Coloccini, Cisse and Ben Arfa back in the starting side.

And while we started a strong team tonight, the Magpies were still without top players like Yohan Cabaye, Tim Krul, Steven Taylor and Moussa Sissoko, and Newcastle dominated this game and came out as very worthy 2-0 winners.

The goals came in the first half from Papiss Cisse (who else?) and right-back Mathieu Debuchy, and that was Newcastle’s second successive win and clean sheet combined.

This is what Alan Pardew said to the Evening Chronicle after the game:

“I was pleased. Especially with the movement.” “They put us under a lot of pressure and we had to play very, very well to play under that pressure.” “We scored two fabulous goals. “

“Without being derogatory to St Mirren it could have been three or four by half-time.” “We were terrific. At the start of the second half we were too.”

“We had some great performances tonight.”

An excellent performance tonight and some good performances from fringe players like Dan Gosling, Paul Dummett and Sammy Ameobi.

It’s not too surprising Alan Pardew was so upbeat after this game.

Now if we can only we can sign a couple of top strikers. :D

@GetFootballNews: West Brom, Newcastle and Everton reportedly interested in Scott Sinclair. #WBA #NUFC #EFC #MCFC

These rumours of Sinclair to West Ham on loan are false. West Ham are looking to tie up a loan deal for Raheem Sterling.

either way it’s gonna be WB or Everton who will nab him, 4 million for a top young player is far to much for MA

    Yohan Kebab

Remy could be a top player for us, but there’s no way in hell Harry will let him go out on loan

we only played st mirren, it should have been 0-4 minimum.
a good work out for the lads i am sure but to play well is to be expected against poorer opposition.
if i was a teacher grading this result i would give it a ‘D’.

Our esteemed sponsors were all over Australian National public radio this morning in their thoughtful religion and ethics program as a result of the Archbishop of Canterbury’s recent comments. Usury, greed, immoral, some of the terms peppering the discussion.

    Black And White

Yeah you’re right. We’ll be lucky to get Remy if anyone.

Of course Gosling & Sammy looked good – it was St Mirren ffs. No disrespect to St Mirren btw.

Doesnt Pardwho realise we only look triffic and pass the ball around when we’re playing shite teams ? Yes we passed the ball around a lot but we only scored two goals. We beat also Motherwell but these are Championship sides at best.

Your job, you muppet, is to motivate players sufficiently to look triffic when playing the likes of Citech, Chelski etc not just these Scottish also rans :(
