West Ham Join Race For Newcastle Striker Target

When you are in the transfer market for players, you need to move quickly and with secrecy and get your targets in as soon as possible, otherwise other clubs will start to move in – especially if they are good players the club is after. But that’s not how Newcastle are doing their transfer business this summer, with Alan Pardew again verifying today that Newcastle are still after Loic Remy, Bafetimbi Gomis and Darren Bent, just in case other clubs had any doubts about that. 🙁

Loic Remy – Hammers may buy him permanently

Alan Pardew was interviewed in the Evening Chronicle today,  and he was asked about Remy, Bent and Gomis,  and he had this to say:

“They are all very much on the radar.” “We will pursue them until we get them.”

Well – there you have it.

Now there is news in le10sport.com in France that West Ham may want to sign Loic Remy on a permanent basis.

West Ham have already paid out £15M for former Newcastle striker Andy Carroll, about £5M more than Newcastle were prepared to pay (and what he’s worth), but the Hammers are one of the English clubs who are dishing out big money this summer, and it’s well known they want at least one more striker.

West Ham have been linked with Salomon Kalou of Lille for around €3.5M (£3M), and the French report is that Sam Allardyce is also interested in getting Loic Remy.

Apparently no offer has yet been received by QPR for Remy, although Newcastle have been reported to be after a season-long loan for the player, and there are some good reasons for that – with one being the Frenchman still is out on bail for a rape charge and the trial is yet to take place.

The French report says that West Ham would be willing to pay the €7M release clause in Remy’s contract, which is what QPR want.

QPR want the transfer fee and also get Remy off their wage bill, as they recalibrate financially,  for life in the Championship, and to meet the Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules in effect for European football clubs.

But it seems to us that Loic Remy is just one option West Ham have, and in the Daily Star today they are reporting that another option for the east London club is to try to sign their former striker Demba Ba, although we’d be very surprised if the former Newcastle hit man wanted to rejoin the Hammers.

We just hope Joe Kinnear and Newcastle have a handle on what’s going on with these three strikers they are after.

Here’s hoping.

We are chasing people like Remy /Bent/Gomis like they are Bale/Rooney.
Scraping the bottom of the barrel for bargain bin rejects.
It has Sports Direct Reject bin written all over it.

If remy wants to stay in London, then its a done deal. But if he has realised his mistake in not joining us in the first place then maybe we are still in with a chance.
The only option really is a loan deal with a view to a permanent deal, Providing nothing materialises after his bail hearing in September.

I pray for the American to take over, I seriously don’t know how much longer I can put up with this pathetic attempt at running a premiership team.

    Big papa
Jan 4th he left the black and white mate for chelski and we still have not replaced him. Carr has been scouting for over 7 month and he must have bought numerous names to the table. So why have we not acted upon this.
It just feels like we bid for PEA and because that did not materialise we have given up.
I think it was JB earlier that stated DEFOE was available for around the same price as Bent-no contest in my opinion

    Boys,Boys,Boys calm down!!!

Our books look much better than all the teams that are buying players. So when every team go bust and we don’t we can say Thank you MA you are our savior.

Until then we can sit back and watch every team improve whilst we recreate last summers ever so successful window. De Ja Vue !

The first thing you need in any business to be successful is a solid infrastructure, credibility and experience, we have Ashley, JFK and Pardew.

Not exactly the three wise men more like the three wise monkeys.

Our new transfer policy is really working, now we seem to out the players we are after. Never done that before, then other teams swoop in and offer real money and bang there goes another.

We seem to be acting as agents, telling teams of other players availability.

    It has gone from wanting:

1 main striker, 1 prospect striker a winger and a Centre Back

Hopefully a player “over the line” by next week.

Complete and utter joke this window and looking like the mirror image of last year. So demoralising.

If he brings in Remy, Sinclair & Alderwireld tomorrow I will say fair play but until then Ashley I FCUKING HATE YOUR GUTS

Starting to think the Gomis deal is a bit of a atand off, he wants to come, the club want to sell but they want to squeeze us for as much as possible. It’s a case of “see who flinches first.” Getting Remy in would strengthen our position but equally if someone comes in and meets the asking price for Gomis then it’s Lyon who are in the stronger position. The longer either the Gomis or the Remy deal takes will put the squeeze on us to improve our offer for Gomis or even take Remy on a permanent. The Sooner 1 deal is done the better for us all!

Wouldnt surprise me one bit that by this time tmrw were talking about gomis signing for marsielle, bent signing for fulham, and remy’s of to west ham… Weve been linked with these players all summer and still no further forward! In my opinion were waiting on the sale of a name nufc player to fund these players but no bids for them so far means were stuck in the mud while other clubs invest heavilly and make further steps ahead of us for the coming season

How many targets are we gonna miss as a result of this inept structure at our club?

A proven striker should have been bought to replace Ba who left some 8 months ago, and we miss out on strikers such as Gameiro (who went for less than 9m to Sevilla), Bony, Ricky van Wolfswinkel…. When will this all be over, as it appears we cant even consider investing in youth, when a experienced striker is a must and as others have suggested, we are struggling to get in a striker who’ll score 15 goals plus next season.

At this rate, we’ll end up with Carlton Cole and Heskey

maybe just maybe that the targets that have been linked with newcastle ,remy ,bent, gomis etc are not actually our targets this summer and we are after 2 high value targets which would prove more difficult to bring in and pardew is singing from the hymm sheet that they are to send our rivals on a wild goose chase as to who we are after because everyone seems to want to sign the players we identify because of graham carr etc and after what happend with remy and i would love it if we brought in 2 20 million pounders a striker and a winger with what we have got we could really do damage with 2 quality rather than quantity additions like say ,wayne rooney or am i just clutching at straws

It’s obvious MA thinks we don’t need any more players. Otherwise we would have made a signing by now.

Remy does not want to join us; he’d rather go to a bigger club or sit at QPR on his fat wages.

Let’s just sit with what we’ve got: we can always make more panic-buys in January…….

I dont give a toss if we miss out on Bent , never wanted him at the Toon in the place.as for Remy we must be about the only ones interested in a player with a rape charge hanging over him & as for Gomis dragging on too long . We should walk away & look elsewhere. As for Godling so much promise coming to nothing.

A relegation dog fight beckons again without a decent strikeforce. Feel sorry for Cisse knowing he`s only got Shola up front with him. ( I think Campbell will be loaned out for experince.) Rank owner rank DoF
