Newcastle Moving In For £8M Blackpool Winger – Money Available

11:35 pm, Saturday, August 3rd, 2013 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 127 Comments

The Mirror is reporting that Newcastle are about to make an £8M move for Blackpool winger  Tom Ince, and Tom was simply outstanding in the second half of Newcastle’s game at Blackpool last week, when we won 1-0.

Tom Ince – a Newcastle £8M target

Everton are also said to be interested and a couple of weeks back Cardiff City had an £8M bid accepted by Blackpool for the player, but Tom didn’t move to Wales after an agonizing wait and decision, citing his new baby and that he wanted to stay near Blackpool.

The Mirror is reporting that even with £8.5M being paid out for Bafe Gomis and a loan deal for Loic Remy, which is a  £2M fee plus his wages, which could all add up to  £5.5M for the  Remy loan next season.

And Mike Ashley is reported to have given the go ahead to Joe Kinnear to go after Tom Ince,  and the money is available.

Everton and maybe Tottenham are also interested, but if Spurs sell Gareth Bale to Real Madrid for a ridiculous £105M, they are going to be linked with every player available.

And Madrid are also said to be after Luis Suarez after they get Bale – so how do they meet the Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules?

They don’t, and if the FFP means anything at all, that should become a problem for the Spanish club.

While Ince turned down a move to Cardiff  City for personal reasons, it is thought that Newcastle would be a different proposition.

And after possibly bringing in seven Frenchmen this year, if we get Gomis and Remy through the door, then Newcastle want to bring in an Englishman – for a change.

Tom Ince would be a great signing for Newcastle United.

What do you think?

Comments welcome, but please be civil and respectful to other readers, and keep the comments to football and Newcastle – thanks.

What we need is Carlos Slim, the guy is worth £70 billion, makes ashley lool like a bum :) . Mind you I have seen tramps splash out more than Mike ;)

  • 2 ted // Aug 3, 2013 at 11:37 PM

    Good night, cherubs.

  • 3 Big Pappa Cissé // Aug 3, 2013 at 11:39 PM

Why go for Ince when Sinclair is available and PL proven ? . The only thing I can think of is wages.

Ince is definiteley talented but how much of the hype is because of his surname ?

  • 4 lesh // Aug 3, 2013 at 11:43 PM

    Beattie.

Get this guy Alexei Mordashov, signed up, smartish!

  • 5 Scotty // Aug 3, 2013 at 11:44 PM

It’s all about the resale value….

  • 6 Sazzer // Aug 3, 2013 at 11:46 PM

This come straight from Alan Nixon the king of football transfer gossip for the Daily Mirror.

  • 7 JackButler // Aug 3, 2013 at 11:48 PM

Ince Gomis and Remy would blow most people away I think, though Jonas will still start every week ;)

  • 8 Kris // Aug 3, 2013 at 11:49 PM

The perfect signing for Newcastle is someone called Javier Hernandez! He would be perfect for us, but I understand Newcastle dosnt fit his bill..

  • 9 JackButler // Aug 3, 2013 at 11:50 PM

    Kris

Hernandez is said to be off to Valencia

  • 10 Kris // Aug 3, 2013 at 11:51 PM

Thats a nice move by Valencia then!

  • 11 gonufc (not Arf' bad) // Aug 3, 2013 at 11:53 PM

@Big Pappa – I actually think that his surname may have gone against him because a lot of people have thought similiarly to you. Ince and Zaha were probably the 2 best players in the championship last year- or atleast the 2 most exciting.

I don’t think he’ll ever be top, international class but he does look a promising winger.

  • 12 shamsoftabriz // Aug 3, 2013 at 11:53 PM

Love this signing if it happens.

  • 13 Kris // Aug 3, 2013 at 11:54 PM

With the squad nowadays, this is what I think is our best starting XI:

    Krul
    Debuchy-S.Taylor-Coloccini-Santon
    Tiote-Cabaye
    Sissoko
    Hatem Ben Arfa- Cissé-Marveaux/Gouffran

  • 14 Sazzer // Aug 3, 2013 at 11:56 PM

If the fee is about the same then Ince is 3 years younger and don’t have Man City wages…also Liverpool will be piss off everytime he scores and buy him for crazy money.

  • 15 JackButler // Aug 3, 2013 at 11:58 PM

Liverpool would be happy with the deal as they will get around 2 million of it, so thats only 33 million owing :D

  • 16 Uncertain Toon // Aug 3, 2013 at 11:59 PM

    Beattie,

Cheers for the link. Did a bit looking around elsewhere as well and apparently had a season ticket from 99 to 02. Must have witnessed some good footie under SBR. Think we’d be happy chappies if he ousted Chunky.
I see he’s a Bilderberg member to boot, he wouldn’t have to invest a penny cos we would just win everything if you know what i mean!

  • 17 t00ntime // Aug 4, 2013 at 12:01 AM

about the poll. If we sign Gomis+Remy top10 should be a minimum for AP imo. Anything more would be nice and a bonus and i’d love to see us fight for EL but seriously our squad has the ability to be top 10.

Also about ffp and Real Madrid. They wont have a problem, because if they sign Bale+Suarez they will most certainly sell some more players and they havea certain player who if needed can be sold for more than enough.

about Ince. Can we really sign him and keep people happy?
Cisse, Remy, Gomis and Ince all want first team football. We would most likely promise the new 3 first team football (if they keep form). without ince you can play Cisse and Gomis upfront with Remy on the LW if needed. But with Ince on the LW where does Remy go? Better than both the other STs imo so who gets dropped?

  • 18 toonicle // Aug 4, 2013 at 12:02 AM

Great news if true, really hoping we sign a winger soon!

  • 19 Sazzer // Aug 4, 2013 at 12:04 AM

No chance of us beating Valencia if they are planning to reinvest the Soldado money. Great player though.

  • 20 t00ntime // Aug 4, 2013 at 12:04 AM

Has anyone seen Dummet play? most of our preseason hasnt been on TV so I havent seen him play lately but people who saw him live keep saying how good he looked and might even take santons place vs City. Does he really look that good, or are people over excited? Would like to see santon tried on the RW and hba LW but that will never happen

  • 21 JackButler // Aug 4, 2013 at 12:05 AM

Why are people worrying where everyone will play?

We have the worst injury record in living memory so we’ll lose half our squad by October

  • 22 t00ntime // Aug 4, 2013 at 12:06 AM

Valencia only want Hernandez on Loan right? (cant see hernandez wanting to leave permantly anyway tbf)

  • 23 Big Pappa Cissé // Aug 4, 2013 at 12:11 AM

Hernandez has bean treat like garbage at Man U. Has one of (if not the best) conversion rates in the PL yet sits on the bench the majority of the time.

He would be my number 1 target, followed by Doumbia. I would even pay £ 20 million for Hernandez he is that good. Good pace, runs the channels, works hard and is a brilliant header of the ball despite his size. But it will never happen under Ashley :(

  • 24 dan5679 // Aug 4, 2013 at 12:13 AM

the guy is paid to make up rumours to sell papers

  • 25 Kris // Aug 4, 2013 at 12:17 AM

Hernandez would be fantastic! But it will never happend :(

  • 26 JackButler // Aug 4, 2013 at 12:23 AM

Hernandez needs to move or he’ll be left on the bench watching his career slip away

  • 27 Kris // Aug 4, 2013 at 12:23 AM

Have someone seen Gomis playing? I get å strange feeling that he is a bit overrated..

  • 28 lesh // Aug 4, 2013 at 12:24 AM

And Mike Ashley is reported to have given the go ahead to Joe Kinnear to go after Tom Ince, and the money is available.

You can just imagine the headline when Joe signs Paul Ince!

  • 29 stockport_toon // Aug 4, 2013 at 12:27 AM

Ince is a top fella and player and would love to see him in a Newcastle jersey. His missus and kid lives across the road from me and he visits at least 3 times a week. I’m sure a helicopter from Newcastle to Hazel grove won’t take too long and he can still see Hallé.

At least we know he hasn’t got a problem wearing the wonga shirt!

  • 30 JackButler // Aug 4, 2013 at 12:33 AM

    Kris

I’ve watched him quite a bit over the last few years as we were linked with him when KK was here on his second stint.

He’s a good player, very strong, good in the air, strong on either foot and is technically a very good player, but…………….he’s no world beater, he’s never going to be a 20+ a season goalscorer and can be very frustrating to watch as he doesn’t seem to understand the offside rule at time, but he’ll be a step up on Shola and will link well with the midfield, something we haven’t have for some time now

  • 31 Twatter // Aug 4, 2013 at 12:38 AM

This ain’t gonna happen. Sunday gossip. Non-starter!

  • 32 SecretSausage // Aug 4, 2013 at 12:39 AM

    hello everyone.

recently Ive posted info I received from players, their wives or indeed the manager as I am often speaking with them. Everything Ive said has been true and posted honestly. But each time I have received some abuse which Ive noticed is the way this blog seems to have gone. So I decided not to post what they tell me anymore. And I haven’t.

But then I couldn’t resist this post as I was speaking with Pardew earlier today and 2 players are arriving in Newcastle tomorrow with the intention of signing.

He didnt give names but I could tell from his smile when I mentioned Gomis that he is one of them. The other is most likely to be Remy but he didn’t give that away.

This is the first time I have heard of this business happening on a Sunday so that is very interesting.

You can start firing abuse now.

  • 33 t00ntime // Aug 4, 2013 at 12:42 AM

dont worry Sausage people will judge you tomorrow. If you’re wrong people are gonna abuse you if not they probably wont. Since you have said a date, most will wait before the abuse comes.

  • 34 JackButler // Aug 4, 2013 at 12:46 AM

One of the French news papers said earlier on that Gomis had said his good-bye’s at Lyon and was expected to make the journey to NUFC for his medical sometime tomorrow or Monday, also rumours of Remy being on his way are rife after he was left out of the QPR squad for their opening game

  • 35 Honoured2BNUFC // Aug 4, 2013 at 12:50 AM

Sausage I really hope your right, this blog has gotten really despondent recently, abuse left, right and centre really hoping a piece of good news will bring an even keel back to this blog.

  • 36 Sazzer // Aug 4, 2013 at 12:56 AM

    Kris
It depends on who you compare Gomis with.

  • 37 Rooster // Aug 4, 2013 at 1:04 AM

t00ntime, Dummet is a really good kid, captained the reserves always got Sammy ameobi out the crap when he lost the ball playing in front of him I watched all his games and can tell you he has a terrific left foot, puts a great cross in as well, hard as nails and has an eye for a goal, the kid is improving all the time, wont let us down in any way if called upon.

  • 38 Sazzer // Aug 4, 2013 at 1:17 AM

Interesting. Keep posting, ignore the abusers. Most time it’s chain of screaming at work.

  • 39 89Norcal // Aug 4, 2013 at 1:18 AM

I’ve been curious where notion of signing Chicharito has come from. If he was labeled available he would have a queue of solid European clubs seeking his signature. Out of our reach IMO.

  • 40 Sazzer // Aug 4, 2013 at 1:39 AM

Last time player SS said someone would arrive one person actually did so. He couldn’t say name so they though it was big player but it was player we already signed Kemen joining the club.

  • 41 Sazzer // Aug 4, 2013 at 1:41 AM

    89Norcal
He wasn’t linked with us but Valencia as Soldados replacement.

  • 42 t00ntime // Aug 4, 2013 at 1:47 AM

@rooster sounds like a good player. I hope your right and its not to early to call upon him. If it is AP needs to loan him out to a championship club so he is ready to help us in a season or 2 when he is ready.

  • 43 89Norcal // Aug 4, 2013 at 2:01 AM

    Sazzer
oh I know, just noticed people have been clamoring on about him for the last month as if we could sign him. Just wondered where that started

  • 44 SuperShearer // Aug 4, 2013 at 2:02 AM

SS frankly mate even if you are making it up it’s enjoyable reading. I don’t know why some people on this blog abuse people who post rumours on here, I don’t see them writing to all the newspapers throwing insults at them when the write a rumour. Truth is agents often release false rumours about their clients in order to peak interest of potential suitors.

If you hear something I say post it on here, I for one always with read them with a hopeful smile on my face. Unless their rumours about Bent then I live in fear.

  • 45 Eddie // Aug 4, 2013 at 2:12 AM

    Well said Super.

  • 46 jamesnufc86 // Aug 4, 2013 at 2:46 AM

Cracking wee player is Ince, watched him enough to see he has things that our squad desperately needs. We don’t have enough players that are focused on purely beating a man, Jonas gone, Obertan can, but then turns into a 4 year old toddler at the defining moment, Sissoko can but is clumsy with the ball. Then there’s Hatem, which is a beast, but we don’t have enough raw pace and trickery , Sammy still think not ready , bit like Bambi on ice at times

Post whatever you want, this a free football blog talking about NUFC, if you feel it’s worthy of a contribution then fire away.

Personally, I don’t read them as I don’t enjoy feeling disappointed if they do not come to fruition. That’s just me though, plenty people enjoy the banter.

  • 53 ToonDarnSarf // Aug 4, 2013 at 6:55 AM

    Hernandez not coming to Newcastle has nothing to do with Ashley being tight! It has a lot to do with him being a CL level striker who could join many CL teams if he leaves Man U. There are only 3 reasons a player like him joins a club like ours as it is as the moment;
    – needs guaranteed football to get into the national squad (not true)
    – supporter of the football club (Shearer, SBR)
    – money

And we know we’re not going to offer him £200kpw to join us like Man City do…

  • 54 lesh // Aug 4, 2013 at 7:01 AM

It’s been a quiet night for posts by the looks of it and certainly been a noticable absence of provocation, bickering and bitching.

Given that, I wouldn’t be surprised if Market Street cells were jammed full….. or their mamnies have locked their little cherubs’ bedroom doors!

  • 55 cyprus // Aug 4, 2013 at 7:10 AM

    FFP Ed?
Forget that one. If Platini pushes it too far, your barcas, Reals, Manchesters, Paris etc will form a breakaway super Euroleague and instantly demote the CL into a Championship League, ie a second division. It ain’t going to happen, trust me.

  • 56 jackostoon // Aug 4, 2013 at 7:32 AM

    Morning all,
I don’t know how anyone else feels, but when I see Taylor being put in people’s teams I can’t help but cringe, totally overrated because he is one of us, aye he’ll put his nose or little chip in the way but to me he’s a walking liability, really worries me for centre half, canny for the bench though.

  • 57 Korean Magpie // Aug 4, 2013 at 7:39 AM

How about we get Chung Yong Lee instead? He is PL material and would do well as Benny’s backup

  • 58 Moe // Aug 4, 2013 at 7:41 AM

    @Jackstoon

Would agree with you. I like the lad because he’s one of his just on the pitch, But I don’t see him in our best 11 with M’Biwa in the team. The same goes for unpopular Mr. Gutierrez.

A lot of people are hanging hopes on HBA, don’t get me wrong he’s our best player hands down but will always be injury prone.
Personally I don’t expect more than half a season out of him. Our medical staff or whatever really needs a complete makeover.

Hope AP has the courage this season to drop non-performers. AP should understand the most that some bench time can do SOME players a world of good, most notably Gutierrez.

MorLyon President Aulas has denied the 5% is an issue and said the Gomis to Newcastle transfer should be completed this weekend. #NUFC.
Morning guys is this the day we make a breakthrough in the transfer market.
Im with Jackson toon on the debate over taylor. One of us I know and will put his body on the line, But santon should be a definite starter in the first 11.

  • 62 Slank // Aug 4, 2013 at 7:58 AM

    ToonDarnSarf @ 53

Although the manager has changed I doubt the attitude / policy has and ManU generally only sell to rid themselves of players they no longer need unless bribed eg Ronaldo.

Why would Hernandez leave the most successful club in Britain and one of the top five in the world to a ‘wee’ club who haven’t won a trophy in nearly 50 years?

    It will not happen.

    I would also

  • 63 beddersmag // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:02 AM

Taylor is good alongside colo. If both fit id stick mbiwa left back. As bad as taylor can be (and dont forget he can be very good) santon is far more of a liability in defence. Stick him in midfield, ideally on the right where he would be comfortable imo. He gets caught up front from full back and we are massively exposed, pulling our defence across to try cover. Opposition target him as a weakness now its obvious. And he tackles with the wrong foot often. Im not a massive pardew hater like some, but never understood why he plays two right footers on the left

  • 64 ToonDarnSarf // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:03 AM

    Slank

Exactly. If he goes, it will be for a CL team in Spain, Italy, France, Germany or even Portugal or Russia. Lots of CL teams would have him and be more attractive than us at the moment.

  • 65 SeanNufc87 // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:09 AM

Having read all the comments over the last 6 hours or so here is my response

Russian billionaire? NO not unless money is invested wisely, I don’t want the history of our club to read “and then they did a Chelsea and bought the league” but sure, investing 20 to 30 mill is realistic.

I don’t think the pardew interview is pardew at all, you will notice he doesn’t say “I make no bones about that” his favourite saying.

Hernandez probably would come to us if we matched his 80k wages with bonuses and guaranteed first team football every week, maybe an assurance of Europe. But no chance.

Ince isn’t as good as people think, he’s a good prem player, don’t think you will ever see him in a city/United/Chelsea team.

    Secret sausage

I remember the very first thing you posted, Darren bent was signing by tomorrow, if your wrong you will never come back to the blog you said, saw you a couple days later. Good to see secret sausage has come out. Sorry but in all seriousness ignore the haters!!

Now can we get torq back too

  • 68 SeanNufc87 // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:13 AM

    Bedders

It’s because Jonas only sees himself as a LW, I think it was because he had no chance of getting in ahead of HBA, cause he certainly can’t shoot very well on either foot so cutting inside isn’t the reason.

  • 69 geordie157 // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:14 AM

On ince, he’d be a great signing. Reduces any chance of Obertan getting a game. Ince is young, exciting, creates and scores goals. Yes he’s unproven at the top level but he’ll make the step up quite easily.

  • 70 toonarmydownsouth // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:14 AM

    Bedders
Disagree with that mate, I don’t think Taylor and colo are a good match at all, in fact willo is and has been a better partner for colo
With a full pre season under his belt mbiwa will very much be first choice CB with colo
Can’t see the point in playing a CB as good as him at LB especially with 3 lads more than capable of playing there

  • 71 geordie157 // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:16 AM

  • 76 SeanNufc87 // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:22 AM

    Tads

Not trying to start an argument, but your wrong. First half of the season before we got mbiwa we lost 2 games with krul, Simpson, Taylor, Colo and santon (our strongest defence) the games were Tottenham and Chelsea, every other game we lost had one or more of those players out, guess who was out the most.

In fact the variable that appears the most in ALL of our losses is Mike ‘would you believe he’s in the premier league’ Williamson.

  • 77 toonarmydownsouth // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:22 AM

    Geordie
Admittedly when we first linked with zoet, I’d never heard of the lad, and still haven’t really seen much of him but after a bit of Dennis wise scouting and looking up some reports it seems the lad is very highly rated, u21 Dutch first choice and has had a call up to the senior team so could be a very good buy

  • 78 Toon-Prodigy // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:22 AM

Sinclair is the one for me to replace Jonas. I think they should be breaking their backs to get this lad in. Fits the blue print quite well for this transfer policy.

He’s also hungry to prove himself. Bargain at 6 million, wages could be a problem, not sure how much he is on at City.

The season when we finished 5th willo had a much better partnership than colo than tayls did

Willo last season had a very much stop start role in the squad, pretty sure he was labelled the forgotten man
This is not me saying willo is a good CB btw, but I don’t think he’s any better or worse than Taylor and neither should be starting imo

That midfield would be ripped a new arsewhole. I think its time for you to actually get to know football so you can comment on it. Pritty much goes for everyone on this stupid blog.

QPR manager Harry Redknapp confirmed Get French Football News reports that the Championship side will loan French striker Loic Remy this transfer window.

The English manager had this to say on the matter this afternoon:

‘Loic Remy is a player who will be loaned. We bought him for €10.5m at a time when three clubs were ready to buy him. We offered him a 4 year contract at that time where he receives €2m a year. Any club who wants to loan Remy this season must pay all of his wages. What they will get is an attacker who can score 15-20 goals next season in the Premier League. Loic Remy is a first class player. In my view, he could play for any team in the Premier League.’
I hope this is a view to a permanent move pending bail hearing.

    Also guti…

  • 86 jackostoon // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:27 AM

    Moe,
Sorry for the slow response, but the internet failed “again” as I went to submit, I think you have it in a nutshell, pardew needs to be a tad braver, the easy option being preferred, the favourites, all totally committed but they’re players that offer the team more, must be canny disheartening for our more “gifted” players to see this happening

  • 87 SeanNufc87 // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:29 AM

    Jakenufc

Awhhhh! Did somebody wake up in a gwumpy mood today?!

  • 88 Toon-Prodigy // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:29 AM

I think the question for this season in regards to our centre backs. Are they good enough to lift us into the top 8 withstanding injuries?

Mbiwa has certaintly bulked up the position for places and added competition.

If they all have a good season and play to the best of their ability I’d say yes they could lift us there.

  • 89 jazzyp // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:31 AM

And here was I thinking the blog was going so well for a change !!!

  • 91 Moe // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:34 AM

    TDS @77 & Geordi @71

You’re bringing up a very good point.
I don’t care about the nonsense AP is spouting, I don’t see Elliot as a good #2 goalie he’s the biggest liability in our team. Lacks confidence which is a major issue for a GK!
Zoet would be perfect although not sure if he’d wanna be on the bench when he’s PSV #1.

Willo is the second biggest liability.

  • 92 Jakenufc // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:35 AM

    @seannufc
No, its just some people think they know the ‘best team’ to put out to play. And this blog is a joke. Think most who just come here to look for the twitter and paper headings for players would know that.

  • 93 geordie157 // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:37 AM

Mbiwa and Colo need a good run of games starting as the centre back pairing. Hopefully that should be a good partnership, if not I think we should look to add another cb in Jan, possibly Sakho if he’s not getting much game time.

Same applies to Debuchy, think he’ll be fine but also think it’s going to be a few months into the season until he finally adapts, especially on his decision making on the edge of the area.

  • 94 Laurent Robert 32 // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:39 AM

Well it certainly seems like we’re getting closer to some signings. We need them. I do like Gouffran though. Hope he still gets game time if the new players come in.

  • 95 Toon73 // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:40 AM

    Top work Secret Sausage :)

  • 96 Indian Magpie // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:40 AM

According to the chronicle Loic Remy doesn’t want to come to NUFC

  • 97 Toon-Prodigy // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:41 AM

While discussing centre backs, I really think the club should be scouting centre backs for Colo’s departure.

Really have my doubts if he will be here after this season.

Little bit of forward planning wouldn’t go a miss for a change.

  • 98 jazzyp // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:41 AM

I never understood why we let forster go to celtic for a pittance. An England prospect-young and would have been the perfect challenge to keep krull on his toes.

  • 101 Jail for Ashley // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:43 AM

My team as long as we sign Remy,

    KRUL
    Debuchy Collo Mbwia. Santon
    Sissoko
    Anita. Cabaye
    HBA. Cisse. Remy.

  • 102 Toon-Prodigy // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:44 AM

    Jail,

    Nice.

  • 103 geordie157 // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:44 AM

signing Ince should mean Obertan goes back to france, prob for 1-2mill. Although I could see Holloway taking a chance on him.

keep Jonas this season (don’t think there’s a chance of him leaving anyway) he can be a useful squad player, using his energy in the last 20-30mins of games.

Wilo, keep until Jan, then upgrade. As I can’t see us bringing in 4 or 5 new players this window. But for 2-3mill I think Maguire could be a cheap but good option.

If the PSV keeper is signed, Alnwick can then go out on loan and hopefully get regular games.

Gomis, Remy, Ince and Zoet would be a very good window. Zoet on deadline day just so we have something for Jim White to shout about.

  • 104 jazzyp // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:45 AM

morning mate-I have a bad feeling that we will lose Remy to either Napoli or Spurs, I hope im wrong because I think this guy is world class.

  • 105 jackostoon // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:45 AM

    Laurent Robert,
I would like to think wor gouff could be a cracking little player for us, Bellamy without the attitude.

  • 106 geordie157 // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:47 AM

Toon-Prodigy, I do think we missed a chance with Caulker 8mill wasn’t too bad a price for an English CB.

  • 107 Toon-Prodigy // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:47 AM

    In regard to Williamson.

It would be very difficult to get an upgrade.

No top player would want to come in and play as a 3rd 4th choice centre back.

I know Williamson is rocky, but he can apply himself when he wants to and has vast experience in this league now. Something that will be hard to come by.

  • 108 Hatem's better than Messi // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:47 AM

    Jazzy

    No I wouldn´t play Jonas.
I´m not a fan of his never have been.
A winger who can´t cross or shoot is just filling a position a more attacking player could fill.

But Pardew loves defending despite him sayinh he always sets teams up on the front foot … that´s more Pardew bollox.

I hope we have a good season, I can´t take the lame excuses he spins and thinks we´re buying.

  • 109 Toon-Prodigy // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:49 AM

Aye decent fee for an Englishman mate.

    Jail,
    Canny mouth watering team that.

  • 112 geordie157 // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:51 AM

my side if we get Remy and Gomis

    Krul
    Debuchy, Mbiwa, Colo, Santon
    Cabaye, Tiote, Sissoko
    Remy, Cisse, Ben Arfa

    subs

Elliot, Saylor, Haidara/Dummett, Anita, Jonas, Marveaux, Gomis.

  • 113 Toon-Prodigy // Aug 4, 2013 at 8:52 AM

Anyone else think this Remy deal was a way to smoke Gomis out from Lyon.

I’d be very surprised if Remy is here next week with Gomis all but sealed.

    John Tudor

When did we sign gusto? Haha

  • 121 bobby mango // Aug 4, 2013 at 9:20 AM

Would love to sign Ince. Young, English, decent wide player. The reason he turned down Cardiff was to stay near his family, it wouldn’t be such a factor signing for us.
Problem is it makes so much sense I can’t see it happening! But that’s how I feel with the current regime. Only other downside is I doubt we guarantee him a place in the team.

With Remy I have a feeling someone else will sign him. Spurs, Liverpool, Everton etc would all seem more attractive than us. Sad to say but I think it’s true.

Finally with people putting in their suggested teams I actually prefer to see Gomis starting over Cisse. Cisse provides absolutely nothing except a goal threat. Gomis might not be as potent but he’ll hold the ball better, link other players in better as well. If HBA if allowed to play further up the pitch he’ll get much more scoring chances with Gomis than Cosse. Will be the same for Remy (if he sighs) or whoever is flanking him.

  • 122 JaxtheMag // Aug 4, 2013 at 9:25 AM

we have been linked with a load of players, its all just paper talk. but we live in hope.

  • 123 JaxtheMag // Aug 4, 2013 at 9:26 AM

a new owner would be a start.

  • 124 Crow59 // Aug 4, 2013 at 9:31 AM

Would love one of the following:
    Ince
    Sinclair
    Hoilett
In that order, we need a wide left man capable of getting goals and playing LF in a 433.

  • 125 Jakenufc // Aug 4, 2013 at 9:31 AM

    Nice one ‘jazzyp’.

  • 126 BigOz // Aug 4, 2013 at 9:36 AM

I have been watching the possible team starting ideas for the season and it will be great to have options for a change, but does AP know how to change tactics when needed in a game? Having great players is good but you need a manager who can use the talent and get the very best out of them. Just a thought.

  • 127 BigOz // Aug 4, 2013 at 9:56 AM

MA is only a season away from selling the club , low investment and maximum return from last year and the TV money is going to soften his stance on the sale price. Rangers is his main focus , the Glasgow Giants will be regular CL participants once again . He knows how much he would need to spend at Newcastle to get the same CL exposure. Ranger are the better option as the top four in the PL don’t include the Toon without massive investment. Newcastle for sale at £150m next season regardless of where they finish in the league.
