Hierarchy Now Concerned About Lack Of Newcastle Signings?

Alan Pardew and Joe Kinnear have been in talks over the weekend regarding the lack of signings this summer, and it seems it’s not only the fans now, who are getting concerned, but maybe the hierarchy at Newcastle too, as Joe Kinnear tries to make his first signing for the club as Director of Football.

Joe Kinnear – needs to break his duck

The press are characterizing it as there has been a clash of the tow men over the weekend, but the main thing is why is the Gomis deal, which must be over 90% complete, still not yet signed?

I’ve even had a couple fo emails overnight saying that Joe Kinnear is close (has been) to be fired, but we’re sure that;s not true, but whatever it is that’s in the way of getting both Gomis and Remy through the door has to be sorted out and quickly.

Newcastle are still the only club with no senior player signed, but we’ve brought in five players this year, but Sunderland have brough in nine players this summer as manager Paolo Di Canio completely rebuilds the Sunderland side.

Newcastle have only added 17 year-old French midfielder Olivier Kemen from Metz this summer.

But in addition to  the two French strikers, there are several reports that Newcastle are also after Tom Ince of Blackpool and James McCarthy of Wigan, – one English player and one Scottish player.

Things are not yet desperate,  because if we get Gomis and Remy on board, or even just one of these, things will lighten up very quickly.

But we think it will be very difficult to get James McCarthy or Tom Ince to the club, because there will be a lot of competition from other clubs for both players.

But first of all we must complete the Gomis or Remy signing before we play Rangers on Tuesday night.

Comments welcome.

Kinnear is a dinosaur that has done nothing since hes been hire , oh except that holiday he took at the beginning of the transfer window!

Gomis, Remy and even Kemen were all targets before this crook took over.

I hope he gets sacked sooner rather than later

Ed I would like to share your optimism regarding signings. But Remy I don’t think is to bothered about coming to nufc as he has better options by all accounts !!

With Pardew’s vision for a top 17 finish I’m sure we’ve captured the imagination of every leading european footballer looking for a move this summer so all we have to do to ‘get them over the line’ is send in JFK to convince the selling club to let them go at half their market value and then drug the player and get them to sign a contract on average money.

Who was it said signing average french players was difficult?

Sadly can’t see Remy coming. He would be ideal and if it falls through I feel we have to target someone who plays a similar position. Sinclair would be great but don’t see it happening because of his wages… Maybe a loan deal though?

Not going to go into details about the Kinnear thing. It angers and upsets me every time I do. I’m just praying these rumours are true and he will be sacked. Ashley would actually gain some respect from me if he did that.

On the senior signings I think it’s us, Arsenal and Man U who haven’t signed anyone yet. It is worrying, as like last summer all those around us are strengthening BUT with the Jan recruits I think we’re only 1/2 players short (assuming Gomis is a done deal)

agree sean nufc, remy and gomis in and would be as happy as players coming in to see kinnear go out.I would also love tosee sinclair or ince in as we need another winger, how about victor moses, not sure he will get much of a look in under mourinho.Theres more money available than ever to teams from tv rights and we arseing about and letting every team around us strenghten, have a decent squad,if ashley showed a bit more ambition and spend 20-25 million to get that bit more quality in we could be optimistic for new season, fans deserve better

I take it that MA has finally woken up and realised signing JFK was not just a nightmare , get rid . If MA is the business man he thinks he is then surely he can realise letting the Manager get on with managing the team affairs and a footballing based executive to handle the Business affairs of the club away from the team. JFK is way out of touch and way out of his depth.

When you start a new job theres almost always a probation period in which you can dismiss someone with a weeks notice. I should imagine its no different with JK. Even if were in the first 12 months he could sack him and JK couldnt take him to a tribunal, so he could pull the trigger at any point I think, unless directors of football operate outside standard employment practices?

Just a wee correction, James McCarthy is Irish. Born in Glasgow alright but to Irish parents. Not Scottish or British. He’s ours!

In two months, kinnear has shipped out some players and brought none in.

He’s got a few weeks to produce and looking at his performance so far, that doesn’t look too promising.

Time for Joe and Ashley to work a way out for him – he’s been ‘working from home’ and clearly out of his depth.

Say bye bye to your friends Joe. Mmmm, that didn’t take long did it!

‘Ours’? Haha so you’re saying McCarthy who was born and raised in Glasgow doesn’t have a British (UK) Passport? I’ll bet you a tenner (GBP not Euros)

Personally I’m not too bothered if we sign Gomis, in fact if we don’t and JFK gets the sack for his inability to deliver it would be a bonus.

Remy and Victor Moses on loan with an option to buy would be my preferred options and would make a very viable business proposition on all fronts.

It’ll be a big season for Marvaux and Goufran because without these two and Cabaye to deliver the goods it won’t matter who we have up front, if they aren’t being supplied. Look at any video of Gomis and it’s the No 10 supplying him who has done all the work. None of the goals are spectacular and I doubt that he is in the same class as Cisse and that is a worry in a league where defenders will literally be hanging on his shirt tail.

Don’t forget that the first thing that JoKe did when he arrived was to squash the signing of Douglas a player we had been trailing for nearly 2 years.

His reasoning being that he hadn’t heard of him.

That should have been enough evidence that JoKe was not up to the job.

I still believe he was appointed to sicken Pardew. Hopefully he’ll do that quickly so that both of them can just disappear.
