It certainly hasn’t been easy for Joe Kinnear this summer in his new job as Director of Football, and although it took a while Joe was successful in getting Loic Remy on a season long loan deal, and Joe deserves some credit for that.
Bafe Gomis – can we still get him?
And in his interview with Sky Sports on Sunday he said he wasn’t dragging his feet and then the news broke on Tuesday night that Marseilles has been illegally interfering with th deal and the Lyon President reported them to the French Professional Football League.
Newcastle have an excellent name in France and it will be even better now whatever happens with Gomis, because Newcastle seem to have acted impeccably in the transfer negotiations.
But it now looks difficult for Newcastle to get Gomis before September rolls around – due to the interference of Marseilles.
And we wonder if this is linked to the hold-up on the fees his agents want from Newcastle?
Maybe Marseilles are offering his agents bigger fees than Newcastle have, even though the French club have not agreed terms with Lyon for the striker, and are said to be unwilling to pay the €2M in add-on payments.
But that would at least explain the current situation.
Let is know what you think.

Comment #41We seem to be forgetting Gomis is the french Heskey. Ameobi would hit at least 15-20 in Ligue 1. Look at Salaman Kalou and Aliedere, they’re both cack and banging them in. Let’s not forget Gameiro & Erdinc
