Debuchy And Sissoko In French Squad – Cabaye Left Out

For the friendly in Belgium next Wednesday the French squad has just been announced and both Mathieu Debuchy and Moussa Sissoko of Newcastle make the 23 man squad, but surprisingly Yohan Cabaye has been left out.

Yohan Cabaye – Newcastle midfielder not in French squad

French manager Didier Deschamps has named this list of 23 players:

Goalkeepers: Hugo Lloris (Tottenham), Steve Mandanda (Marseille), Mickael Landreau (Bastia)
Defenders: Mathieu Debuchy (Newcastle), Eric Abidal (Monaco) Eliaquim Mangala (FC Porto), Adil Rami (Valencia), Gael Clichy (Manchester City), Patrice Evra (Manchester United, Bacary Sagna and Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal)
Midfield: Josuha Guilavogui (Saint-Etienne), Geoffrey Kondogbia (Sevilla), Rio Mavuba (Lille), E. Capua (Toulouse), Moussa Sissoko (Newcastle), Clement Grenier (Lyon).
Forwards: Franck Ribery (Bayern Munich), Mathieu Valbuena (Marseille), Dimitri Payet (Marseille), Samir Nasri (Manchester Cit) Karim Benzema (Real Madrid), Olivier Giroud (Arsenal)

L’Equipe are reporting that PSG center-back Mamadou Sakho, who would be great at Newcastle, is a major player missing from the list, as well as Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa of Newcastle, but Cabaye is not mentioned(?).

These Internationals are taking place just three days before the Premier League season starts a week on Saturday, and it seems a terrible time to hold the rather meaningless games which are only friendlies.

It doesn’t surprise me he was left out he played shite most of last season. To get in a squad you need to impress.

Tbf haven’t seen or heard the interview so have no idea where this bloke has pulled that little statement from but yeah when someone signs a 5 year contract 2 seasons hardly count as loyalty!!!

Haidara is starting light training today with Remy and Amalfitano (according to NUFC.co.uk).

Bigi must actually be in in TADS’s basement.

Guys, Beattie was with England u20s, never really got a game though. Was given some time off for the other games and is now back in training.

In that slideshow you can also see Haidara training with Remy and Amalfitano.

Come on then you local lads, do your part. Yo wants your balls.

What is that Blanc playing at? What a disgrace. Lowlife.

I’v expected Cabaye to be away all window so I wouldn’t be to disheartened if he left to be honest.

My worry is will he be replaced.

Pardew can’t bring the best out of Cabaye. As far as i’m concerned thats pretty much a fact.

He would turn world class in Manchester United or Arsenal team.

    Big Papa,

Ahh, I see what you mean, possibly. Maybe Blanc will come out and clarify exactly what he means. I’d sure be interested to know.

From what I have read about him in the past he comes across as a bit of a t1t to be honest. Has a habit of thinking he is up on a pedestal and shows a lack of respect.

I have to say I have never been bowled over by Cabaye, don’t get me wrong he is a good player and has scored some important goals however, noway near as good as some of the Toon fans go on about him.

But the more we big him up, then more money we will get for him I guess…then we can sign a similar kind of player…Danny Guthrie

Well just as well Cabaye’s suspended for the French game otherwise he’d be thinking he needs to be at a ‘big club’ like PSG to get a regular game for his country.

No doubt Joe’ll anticipate that and get a replacement in before he goes. Like what we did before Ba unexpectedly left!
