It seems that Newcastle are now willing to meet Blackpool’s price of £8M for highly rated Blackpool winger Tom Ince.
Tom Ince – Newcastle target
But the news in the Mirror is that Newcastle will only bid for Ince, if they sell Yohan Cabaye, and of course Tom is not a like for like replacement for Yohan Cabaye
If Newcastle do sell the Frenchman, they must, with the emphasis on must, replace him with a top central midfielder.
The bad news is that Tottenham are now interested in the England U21 International, and that’s what happens when you delay moving in for a target, other clubs will become interested.
And the Mirror is reporting that Paul Ince, Tom’s famous father and former Manchester United and England midfielder, wants his son to move to a club where he will get regular playing time.
That gives Newcastle an advantage, because it’s more likely he will get more playing time at Newcastle, because our squad is not as strong as the Tottenham squad.
It seems that Newcastle are willing to sell Yohan Cabaye, but only at the right price, and that’s at least £20M.
But it looks like the Tyneside club may be planning on how to use the money they will get for Cabaye, and we could be in for multiple players.
But if the last nine weeks is anything to go by, and the snail’s pace at which Joe Kinnear appears to have carried out Newcastle’s transfer business, we’ll be lucky to sign one player never mind multiple players, and that’s whether we sell Yohan Cabaye or not.
We’d like to be proved wrong on that.

Comment #82I wouldn’t object to getting Ince and Gomis in as exchange for Cabs because I think we do have pretty good cover in the middle of the park with Anita, Sissoko, Tiote, Gutierrez and Marv and the addition of those two players would give us a more balanced look.
By the way, Spurs are in for Willian at 30 mill which would bring their spending to over 90 mill for the summer, just as a point of perspective.

Comment #85Black and White, good on ya mate. I know there are plans but wolfshead is right, a few wins and it settles down, a purchase or two and it’ll settle down but there will be people in the background constantly working away fighting to help improve the state of our club.
The club’s fansforum is the next new addition, will be interesting to see how it will be implemented and if the club try to stop some people from attending even though they may have a legitimate reason for being there.

That is no longer something to be proud of.
It is Stockholm Syndrome, these fans are not benefiting the club, they are indulging their own habit/need/desire/agenda/sense of self importance/duty insert whatever you wish to describe it.
If you willingly go to SJP, pay money to a regime that is killing this club then, in my opinion, you’re, in a small way, part responsible for this club’s demise. It is only by refusing to stump up the cash, by refusing to accept this abuse any more will we ever hope to change, grow and re-develop.
It starts with the fans, if the fans won’t help to save the club, then the club is destined for mediocrity, and as such have no right to complain simply because they pay their money, in fact they have no right to complain as a result of paying their money!

Comment #91I think that’ll do it for tonight folks. Only came on to share an opinion or two and ended up a bit William Wallace in places…
Support the club whichever way you see fit, but financially contributing to this regime, in any capacity, is only damaging the long term security of Newcastle United.

Comment #92Well I’ve had enough for one night. If someone comes up with a good idea then I hope it catches on.
I still think television views over SJP showing it completely empty while thousands are enjoying themselves watching the match almost right outside would be awesome. Difficult to organise but would make for some iconic images of protest.

Diego Capel – £6 million
Jeffren – £5 million
Lacine Traore – £8 million
2 wingers who can cross and a big CF.

Im just trying to be realistic.
It’s not just a case of “not turning up to watch a game”.
This is a life long passion. It’s a part of peoples daily lives, It’s a built in mechanism.
It may well do good if he up and left, but stopping Geordies watching the Toon at St James park is going to be extremely difficult.
Think heroin and a smackhead. We will turn a blindeye to any regime so long as we get our fix.
Ruddy Marveaux-lous
Aug 21, 2013 at 1:05 AM
Comment #97And like I’ve no sympathy for a smackhead, I’ve no sympathy for any Newcastle United fan who goes to SJP.
The next time I hear someone complain about Ashley or Pardew I will ask “do you go to SJP?” and if he responds “Yes” my answer will be “then don’t!”
If you don’t like it, you’ve the power to change, stop feeling sorry for yourself and do something about it would be my message, for crying out loud.
Why are people so ready to take systematic abuse simply because it’s a habit. That’s what victims of domestic abuse do, are we akin to those thought processes?

Comment #99No need to empty the stadium as no one enters in the first place was my idea. Council already have an agenda against Ashley after all his cockups. Could feasibly have a lot more than 50,000 attend spread safely out over the moor.
Like you say – some task but hopefully peaceful and a massive statement which would garner sympathy and support worldwide.
Right, I’m really off now. I’ll check in tomorrow to see if anyone’s booked the pre match entertainment.

Comment #100I’d like to thank the people who go to the matches week in week out. I don’t understand those who judge them while typing with the wit such certainty that they know better.
Last season we won 2 games away from home. It’s all well and good saying the fans didn’t help them when we got stuffed off Sunderland and Liverpool but the point becomes invalid when you bother to look at the 9 games we won.
It will hurt him when we get relegated and he puts us into administration but while he is watching his new team and enjoying his billions, the fans that you judge will have too turn out to watch Blyth Spartans.
How do you think we’ll interest a new chairman, director of football, manager and quality players with an empty stadium?

Comment #105On the subject of Tom Ince, I think I’d pass and get Scott Sinclair in for a couple of million less.

Comment #107I love the way that the vast majority of people who support a complete boycott of games are the people who live miles away from the city and don’t go to games week in week out. They say ‘we need to hit MA where it hurts, and stop going’ when in reality it means nothing changes for them. They continue to watch the games in their homes on tv or the internet.
Ruddy- you say you’re moving to Newcastle in the coming weeks. Presumably, part of the attraction was Newcastle United. If in 6 months time, when you’ve been in the city for a while and you’re still promoting a boycott, then I may listen to you. Until that point I don’t believe you actually have a true understanding of just how important football is to Geordies and just how significant the ritual of a matchday is.

Comment #108Evening folks my first ever post on here so here goes.hopefully I won’t upset any one but it has to said. people posting”we get rid of pardew and then get someone like Hiddink or DiMateo” sorry it ain’t gonna happen.just after JFK took the job Talksport played an interview from last summer. In the interview JFK spoke about getting back into football management and that he would take a DOF role then when he felt the manager wasn’t doing his job he would move them on and move into the position himself. Have to be careful what you wish for. Am not a Pardew fan but am definitely against JFK taking the job. Ashley OUT.

Comment #112Even if we sell Cabaye, I agree with many posters here that we need a striker and some attacking, speedy wingers? If we are to play with the ball on the floor in AP’s 4-2-3-1, then these positions need reinforced. In fact, I’m certain that Jonas & Marveuax are best suited as central mids, and that might be Ben Arfa’s best spot, too.
Here we are 3 deep with central midfielders in a 4-2-3-1:
AM: Ben Arfa
HM: Sissoko
HM: Anita
AM: Marveaux
HM: Gosling
HM: Tiote
AM: Vukic
HM: Bigi
HM: Jonas

Comment #113I’v expected Cabaye to be away all window if im honest. I’v said simce the start of the window about how we are waiting for a bid for Cabaye to kickstart our spending.
We all need to remember under this regime we are a stepping stone club for ambitious players.
We have a two year lifeline with all players that come through the door and do well at NUFC.
If Ben Arfa had did just aswell he would be gone also. He is here only because of the injuries he has suffered. Everyone we buy, we are looking to sell within 2-3 years at a maximum, they all get five year deals. That is great financially but it is no basis for footballing ambition. Which we are all beginning to realise now.
Until Mike swaps the Toon for Rangers to advertise Sports Direct we are doomed for all things football.
It’s all filtering right through the club down to the players on the park.
Who wants to be at a club with no anbition?
This is all disastrous and far from healthy.

Comment #114Before they blow whatever Cabaye cash Mashley leaves in small change on dodgy forwards we need to talk about a good, big aggressive centreback with a brain to complement Colo. Taylor is just not good enoughand terriofied of haviong the ball at his feet and Yanga isn’t big enough although he may eventually be Colo’s replacement. For now, he needs to be our full-back. I’m also fed up with the bad positions and rash decisions of Debuchy. He can follow Cabs oot the door.
It’ll be Cabaye from him and ‘bye from him too.

Comment #120Morning guys any news on prospective transfer targets ???.
Personally as probably already stated, I don’t think 2-3 players will make that much difference for what is happening at Nufc at the moment. You could clearly see half the squad did not even want to play against city. would any other top club in the PL accept performances from there players like that without them being dropped to the bench………but then again we have no choice as we have no depth in the team.
