Newcastle supporters are far from happy at the moment, and it’s because of Newcastle feeble attempts to get new players in over the summer months, and it didn’t help that we were hammered 4-0 at the Etihad for the second season running, and we looked miles and miles behind Manchester City is terms of movement, skill and class.
Sam Allardyce while at Newcastle – seems like he wants to be sick
I guess we weren’t playing too well at the time 😀
But on the other hand, there will be a number of clubs who will find it difficult to get anything out of City this season, especially if they play as well as they did against Newcastle, and for long spells they were simply superb, and our lads just couldn’t live with them.
But tomorrow is another day as they say – and we have a decent chance to get a good result at home against West Ham United tomorrow, although the London club beat us 1-0 in this same fixture last season.
The fans have to support the team, and we’re sure there will be a sell-out tomorrow afternoon, at St. James’ Park and make no mistake, a win will do the players and the fans a world of good – and that’s what we are hoping for.
This is what Alan Pardew had said yesterday about the current situation on Tyneside:
“Really and truly it is about the next 37 games – particularly the two at home. We need points on the board.” “It will be a better measure for us after West Ham and Fulham. Judge us on that. Going forward we would be better judged after the next two games.”
And unfortunately, West Ham manager Sam Allardyce seems to do well when he comes back to Newcastle, after being at the club for around eight months after and he arrived in May, 2007, just before Mike Ashley bought the club.
This is what big Sam had to say:
“You cannot ease off.” “Every time you do that in this league you get punished. We have to be 100 per cent focused and we have to improve our away form from last season, starting with Saturday’s game at Newcastle.
“Even though Newcastle had probably a poor performance, Alan would say in the end that was only brought about by circumstances and Manchester City being absolutely brilliant.”
Newcastle have Steven Taylor suspended and Jonas Gutierrez injured, and if seems that Jonas should never have played last Monday night, because it was the same injury his picked up against SC Braga that flared up again, and he will be out at least two weeks.
We are assuming Davide Santon is still out injured, and that Yohan Cabaye will play tomorrow – and we assume Loic Remy is still not ready to play.
So this is the team we think Alan Pardew will start tomorrow:
Krul
Debuchy Coloccini (c) Yanga-Mbiwa Dummett
Ben Arfa Cabaye Tiote Sissoko Gouffran
Cisse
Dummett played very well in the second half last Monday night, and the 21 year-old deserves his chance to make his St. James’ Park debut for his home town club.
And whenever Gouffran plays, he seems to inject some energy and movement into the team, so we prefer him over Sylvain Marveaux, who is likely to see some action tomorrow.
We really need all 3 point tomorrow, and Newcastle need to prove they can actually score some goals – but a win would be simply terrific.
What would your starting line-up be?
And let us know how you think the game will go tomorrow.

Comment #81jay…I also find the one about Tevez openly criticising Pardew provides proof that Pardew isn’t good enough is laughable. The same player who has basically slagged off anyone he can throughout his career and he’s worked under some of the best in the game. Clearly he has an attitude problem, but yeah, let’s listen to Tevez!?!

Comment #82Jayphoto, They both struggled when they first arrived but you will find that they were fit, the South American Leagues play over our summer break so your argument is flawed.
Pardew couldnt get the best out of the players and Curbishley did, ask any hammers fan and they will you the same thing. Tevez went on a really good goalscoring run under curbishley

Comment #85A player,AKA Cabaye should not be able to dictate if he plays or not -unless there is a hidden agenda ie a deal has been done for him , in which case it would be crazy to play him in case of injury etc.
No deal – he should play.
Here in France he is liked, but people I have talked to think it’s crazy when £25 million is talked about -PSG will not pay that for him, regardless of how much money they have. Maybe for him and Debs which is a taking point here.

Comment #86Shola starting up with Cisse tomorrow. I guarantee it.
That’s Pardew’s mentality, there’s a big, strong, aggressive team coming to play us tomorrow so we need to match them. Not like the decent managers who play to their strengths each week and let the other teams worry about them. Shocking really that fat Mike has put up with it. Just shows how much he cares or understands a game.
Anyway, i’m working tomorrow so i’ll miss the game and i won’t be able to find out any scores until the game is over. It’s actually not a bad thing, considering.

I would go with what you have suggested:
Krul
Debuchy – Coloccini (c) – Yanga-Mbiwa – Dummett
Ben Arfa – Cabaye -Tiote – Sissoko – Gouffran
Cisse
However, will Cabaye be playing? He should as I see no reason why not. If for whatever reason he doesn’t turn up I would play Marveaux instead.

Comment #90Club site says Dummett could start, Saylor is obviously suspended, Jonas has a pain in his ar$e and there are doubts over Tiote’s fitness.
No mention on Cabaye.

Comment #91Wayayman, I would be surprised if Shola does start tomorrow. I think he only started about 4 games last season in the PL, most of the time he was used as a sub.
Get your point about WH being a physical side though so it could happen.

Comment #92@ourtoon – think you’ll find mate due to a disagreement between Kia Joorabchian and the Corinthians, niether player had played any football since January! Corinthians played sure, but not with mascherano and tevez in their side! Tevez picked up fitness under Curbishley but it still took him 25 odd games to notch a league goal! How many of us would stand by a striker with a record of 1 in 25?? And even Curbishley still neglected to pick Mascherano! People are confusing the tevez and mascherano from man utd/city, barca, liverpool, with the tevez and mascherano pardew had at west ham up until november/december! They were shocking! Tevez was one of my fav players at Boca juniors, was well excited he’d come to england and watched all his games, even from a biased opinion, he was poor until about march long after pardew left!
Not a pardew fan, not atall, but don’t see why people need stretch truths and ignore important details so to villify him! If you want a reason why he’s not good enough you’ve to look no further than our tactics for the last 18 months….

What makes people think in their probable line up that Marveaux is going to start tomorrow. Will never happen.

Comment #95Lads, I know a bloke that has a very large corporate season ticket, I.e a few boxes at the club. He was just as pissed off with the club as us a few years ago and wanted to cancel his full package, Chris mort phoned him back and told him to wait two weeks and see of he would change his mind. Two weeks passes and he gets another call off mort asking if he still wants a refund and as it was a large refund to meet up in town with the clubs lawyer etc. at this meeting mort confirmed the reason he asked the client to wait 2 weeks was because Ashley was in talks with the now man city owners and a deal was actually quite close before it collapsed.
Take that as you will, if you don’t believe me I don’t care, although i’m not too sure what would be gained by lying on a blog.
That said, I would hate for that deal to have gone through. Yes we would have won the league, but with players who didn’t want to be here and didn’t have any passion for the club beyond their astronomical wage packet.

Comment #96When I read or listen to Pardew’s interviews, I’m torn between thinking that either he’s an idiot or he’s taking the piss.
We definitely do not have the same ambitions as the 2 Manchesters : concerning the premiership, their ambition is to win it; ours is to stay in it.
When Pardew was asked at the beginning of this transfer window if he was going to buy defenders, he actually said there was no need because we were strong there!! This is the manager of the team with the worst Newcastle defence ever. All the other clubs, the newly promoted, the mackems, have brought in new players. OK, it may not pay off, but at least they recognize their own weaknesses and try to do something about it. What does Pardew do? He says we need 2 attackers (as if that was going to be enough) and that’s it. And all we get is a guy on loan, injured, who didn’t even want to come here when he had a real choice.
Pardew, Pardew!!
What would be better? To pity him or to shoot him in the head?

Comment #99djm– it is well known that ash could have sold to the man c owners ( if he had wanted ) so yes i think what you say is right, however, to say you are glad it didnt happen and that basically means you would rather watch the current rubbish being served up than a team full of stars playing for the league is hard – very hard to believe- sorry.

Comment #101djm interesting anaecdote and I have no cause to doubt your word. Can I ask whether you actually know this bloke or is this a mate of a mate story? Not sure why you would need lawyers involved if you were agreeing to a refund. Did your mate get his money back.?
Even if this story is 100% accurate why did the deal breakdown? Did you mate say they were asking 500 or 800 mill ? Seems a strange figure to ask for as they had only paid 130 mill when they bought the club and we were up sh1t creek at the time so not the most attractive investment around.

Comment #109the coaching team are destroying our players by beefing them up. After putting on weight they have lost agility and pace and arent that strong anyway.. sissoko destroyed ashley cole for pace but look at him now he is scared of running full pace, bennys lost pace, debuchy is slow as hell but his first steps are shocking too, lack of agility and staying on your toes. To prove im right i ask everyone to keep an eye on remy as season progresses and see if he slows down. if he does then im right.
pards and his whole backroom team needs to go cos when a new manager comes he needs to fix everything from scratch and to fix the players speed and conditioning could take 6 mnths minimum.
this season is a write off before its even started

More of an acquaintance than a mate, but I did hear it first hand from him. He did get his refund but all that I know is mort was confident a deal would go through and that’s why he asked the lad to wait a few weeks, he thought a takeover may have changed his mind. I don’t know about the lawyers, I just assume its because a large sum of cash was changing hands.

if he got new manager in summer he’d have to back him on big transfers, but if he gets new manager in september he could promise little money for january and have 1 year till next summer to save money. thats my thinking anyway. i think and hope pards will be gone soon
