Pardew – Please Sort Out Yohan Cabaye’s Future

We may be setting the bar really low at the moment, but we were pleased Newcastle didn’t end up on the losing side today, although Gouffran missed an absolute sitter with one minute to go in added time, but that would have given Newcastle a lucky win today – but we would have taken it. 😀

yohan cabaye funny face

Yohan Cabaye – manager wants this player’s future sorted

It was not a good performance from the lads today and we had absolutely no cutting edge up front – none – but the defense was solid enough and Moussa Sissoko and Vurnon Anita had good game in the middle fo the park today, and that was a positive coming out of the game, especially for Anita who is a very good technical player, and can still become an important player on Tyneside.

Alan Pardew seemed happy enough at the outcome – but we don’t blame the manager for saying the future of Yohan Cabaye needs to be sorted out – and quickly too.

This is what Alan told Sky Sports after the game:

“The Cabaye situation needs to resolve itself one way or the other, because if we lose him we need to replace him.” “We had to dig in after Manchester City and really show our resilience which we did today.”

“Defensively we did not put in a bad performance, offensively we know we have to improve, but we had some key players missing today and hopefully when we play Fulham one or two will be back.”

It’s a very delicate time for Newcastle at the moment, and the team had not played well in the first two games, but it was important to suffer another defeat today – and that was really the food news.

But now Joe Kinnear and Mike Ashley need to get to work and deal with the Cabaye situation and if he goes get another equivalent player in.

And we need at least one more striker – and we don;t know what Newcastle are not going back in for Bafe Gomis, who will become a free agent next summer – so surely Newcastle can get a decent deal done now and bring Bafe Gomis to Newcastle.

Newcastle fans deserve some action this week – after what has been an embarrassing and inept display by the club this summer in the transfer market.

And that’s the truth.

And we know some Newcastle fans don’t rate manager Alan Pardew – but let’s give the man a chance in the next few vital games – for the good of the club – since he’s had a lot to deal with last week – given the apparent negative attitude of Yohan Cabaye – one of our best players.

We need to keep behind the lads in this crucial early period of the season, so we can at least get off to a decent start to the season – and then take it from there.

Why can’t we play like Verona? I’m not asking the team to play like Barca or Madrid, just Verona is enough for me.

The drawback to PSG making an offer at this stage is that is that we’ll play hardball, PSG’ll refuse to increase its offer and come the closure of the window, Cabaye will either have gone after an increased offer.

But, that offer will have been made and accepted so close to its closure that Kinnear will claim it happened so late, he couldn’t get new players in.

That being so, I think we can take it as confirmation that Ashley and Kinnear had no intention whatsoever of investing in the squad. Not that we really need that confirmation.

The result? Pardew under increased pressure, restless fans, disillusioned and demotivated players, Kinnear installed as manage pending his recruitment of a leg/ yes man such as Harford and, all the ingredients of another relegation.

Oh, the joys that supporting Newcastle United brings with it and just think how tedious life would be without that.

Santon was a. Excellent defender under mourinho and does well for Italy. Maybe our coaching.

Everybody said debuchy had a good euro for France last summer so maybe more down to us too?

Marv doesn’t get a run often in the team, looks ok, likes a central role but usually played on the left so harsh to judge.

Amalfitano was a gamble as a free, neer seen him play much but not looking good.

Then good signings cabaye, mbiwa, Ba, cisse, remy (looked the part at QPR), sissoko, gouff. Most haven’t set the league on fire but with the money the club spend they have been good for the price we paid.

Carr is overrated….I’ve nothing aganst him, and like him overall, but we overrate him.

    – Is Santon a good defender – No
    – Is Debuchy a good defender- No
    -Cabaye – Great signing
    – Was Obertan a good buy – No ( why did we lose Routledge??)
    – Amalfitano – No
    – He scouted Maiga for us ….he’s not a great striker either
-Is Marveaux a good signing – No , he looks lazy and lacks consistent influence on games.

So whilst he has made some good signings, I wouldnt get carried away….Mind you Pardew’s football and training skills are not helping anyone….how the hell did we get 5th??

I can see the Cabaye deal dragging on until around a day before the window slams shut and then no doubt it will be Déjà vu all over again with us spending to get away from the relegation zone come January.

    Shambles from top to bottom

Verona only have Luca Toni near half way line and the others sitting deep when they don’t have the ball, but on the counter attack they outnumber Milan 5 against 3 players, why can’t we do this?

well you have just proved that you always want to stay negative about your comments

“First reason is no proper manager wants to work under MA and JFK.”

“I hate Pardew saying ”we can’t compete with the big clubs”
It just shows he is not good enough.”

you have already said that no good manager would want to work under Ashley

pardew has decided to speak the truth saying that
which means while this is our owner we can’t compete with the top clubs

so what do you want the manager to give praise that we are capable of competing with the top teams with this owner or this owner makes it impossible for that

Even the best scouts get some wrong, never know exactly how a player will adapt but I think his record for the money he has to play with is good.

Be interesting to see who he’d find if we gave him double the money on players.

Santon has been poor defensively for us I agree. Just saying he was a class act for inter. Mourinho likes his defenders to defend first and foremost, and he picked santon and had him playing very very well.

I genuinely feel its more about how we set up that exposes both fullbacks. We invite so much pressure by playing deep.

What was wrong with subs? Sammy did well and Marv wasn’t soon loads.

Cisse was horrid today and gouff came on and got in a couple good positions, should have had the winner with a bit of composure.

Also missing jonas, tiote, remy and cabaye. Saylor too but out for 2 more.

The long term aim of the nufc fanbase should be the removal of Mike Ashley from the club.

Short term we need to concentrate on removing Alan Pardew.

And how do tiote jonas or Taylor help us on the attack?

Sammy did ok, wouldn’t say he did well and certainly not well enough to make me think he’s really going to help us out with 5-8 goals this season
Negative and too timid for a home game and a poor start to the season
    No progression and no ambition

And dont talk abt cabaye. Hes off and we dont do replacements. You will say cabaye missing for this entire season after each game.
If you have a problem with transfers take a stand and walk out.

Pardew, I hope you meant Remy but thats singular player not plural.

Disagree. That 6 game winning run end if 11/12 season he got us playing excellent, he can do it just doesn’t for some reason.

Hopefully a couple players and remy will help him sort it out.

Genuinely think we are passing it much better in these two games than last year. Still some way to go but look better for me.

Keep going bonny lad,you seen the same game as me.Your talking a lot of sense & with a cool head. IMHO we are badly in need of a creative AMF who is also a goal scorer to link the play up to the forwards. The quicker we get Remy to play up front the better. HBA,although great to watch doesn’t create anything at all. Another creative goal scorer on the left wing & we’re good to go.

    C’mon man.

You mean the 6 games unbeaten?

We played excellent in patches but even then not over 90 minutes. His hand was forced and he had to play the formation, we won 6 in a row and then he ditched it, never to be seen again.

The man has nothing to offer.

100 PL games and we’ve played well in about 8 of them.

Well i think anita proved pretty well why he should be ahead of tiote. Quicker, makes tackles without being reckless, plays the simple ball most of the time, will drive into space given the chance and is capable of playing some decent balls.

Apart from that not to many positives to glean from that. No cutting edge what so ever. 15 shots and not a single one on target.

Unlike most bloggers I watched a decent Toon performance with some decent link up play and no trace of hoof football. The midfield and defence were solid enough with precious few chances created up front. The lads played well considering the unrest caused by cabaye’s alleged refusal to turn out in a black and white shirt. If true then get him out the door ASAP but only after he!s been made to stump up a hefty club fine. Refuseniks should not be tolerated
