Newcastle Reported After Watford Striker?

There’s a report in the People today that Newcastle are interested in 25 year-old Watford striker Troy Deeney.

troy deeney

Troy Deeney – 25 year-old Watford striker

Certainly Newcastle need to bring in one more striker in the next eight days,  so we’ll probably be seeing Newcastle linked with a number of possibilities in the coming week, but it’s difficult to know which reports have any truth to them.

Deeney was born in Birmingham,  and had an excellent season last term when Watford made the play-off final,  but were beaten 1-0 by Crystal Palace,  and in 43 appearances for Watford, Deeney scored 20 goals.

But there’s a huge gap in class between the Championship and the Premier League,  and Gateshead-born Danny Graham two years ago scored 27 goals in 49 appearances for Watford.

But Danny has found it hard to scored goals in the Premier League with Swansea, Sunderland and now Hull City – he’s scored 21 goals in 75 appearances in England’s top division – and all of those were at Swansea.

The 6′ tall striker joined Watford from Walsall in 2010 for £750K, and in 134 appearances for the Hornets, the he’s scored a total of 40 goals.

Newcastle need to bring a striker in soon, but we’d still like to see Lyon’s Bafe Gomis brought in before a week next Monday, when this summer’s transfer window closes, and so far it’s been a disaster for the Magpies.

Not sure if Deeney has the class to make it in the Premier League, and he’s never been capped by England at any level, but we suppose he would come cheap enough.

What do you think?

People comparing him to Leon Best just because he has the same build haha

He’s far better than Leon Best. It’s a non story though because you wont get him for peanuts so we wont be interested.

    Repost:
For the last time…… Tiote is a good player, so is Cabaye, so is Sissoko, so is Cisse……

FFS IT’S THE MANAGER AND COACHING THAT CAN’T GET THE BEST OUT OF THESE PLAYERS. TIOTE ESPECIALLY BEING ASKED TO DO A JOB THAT’S NOT TO HIS STRENGTHS (clever passes, dribbling, creating) How often do you see him win the ball then have no option but to take a couple extra touches so get forced into a mis-pass or lose the ball and then……

JFK is better than Pardew! Krul’s long kicks EVERY TIME FFS! Playing strolla who has been shit for years. Everyone can see we need a link man who can supply Cisse. Why not play Marveaux or Vuckic dropping off him instead of just launching to the amoeba?

The depressing fact is that THIS WILL NOT CHANGE WHILE PARDEW IS MANAGER. Even Ashley has realised this so WILL NOT support him this transfer window. The best we can expect are loan deals.

Forget about signing players because it’s JFK’s job to undermine AP so he can take over.

This is the last time I will mention this….. just keep posting your team selections and whingeing about lack of signings and how shit JFK is…..

IT’S ALL ASHLEY’S FAULT MAN, HE HAS REALISED HE MADE A MISTAKE WITH PARDEW’S CONTRACT AND NOT WANTS HIM OUT. HE ALSO WANTS TO GET AS MUCH OUT OF THE CLUB AS POSSIBLE THEN SELL IT.

If its him or no one we will obviously take it cuz he will score more than shola and goofy ain’t an obvious striker so ‘beggars can’t be choosers’ someone posted earlier that something has really ticked cabaye off and it must be r director of football. Same reason why so many have knocked us back

Ignore all unofficial transfer links on a Sunday unless they are from a reputable source.

Let’s go for him provided he’s in addition to Gomis and the midfielders, CB and keeper we’ll need.

But and as Lillongwe pointed out earlier, that requires forethought and planning.

Now, where’s the guy to fix the deals?

N, not you Joe, back to bed til your carer says it’s safe for you to have your jacket undone!

Missed out on PEA as he got a hat trick yesterday 🙁
    Penny pinching again
I don’t care if they said 11.5 million,we shoulda done it quick and said here’s 14 as he had of been worth it and big time
He had of given our side such a lift

I heard something a couple days ago which I didn’t really think too much about at the time, but the more I think and something in post #14 just brought it all back home…. Our owner is actually a very clever bloke, as he’s brought in JFK to not only undermine Pard’s and put pressure on him, he’s also here so Cashley wont have to spend out much if at all any cash on new players, as JFK actually has no ability to either communicate with any players or agents successfully, and in fact anytime he opens his mouth he offends people……

OMG, we’re blessed to actually have this guy at our club in paid employment…..

dont think we will get anyone tbh !

never thought i’d believe it and that fans were over reacting but i must admit it looks like they really dont care and just want to sell and get in as much money as possible (maybe for a sale) i actually feel sorry for pards in a way as he seems to be carying on blindly while they are laughing at him.

seems cp want pards as manager anyways so joke will be in charge soon and i hope he does a better job than his recruitment drive !

The troy deeney link was in the mail today as I read about it at work… he’s miles better than best but a mile away from the quality we need brought in. Everyone around us has strengthened and although maybe the quality isnt as good, theyre playing with more heart than ive seen from our boys in nearly 2years.

AS FOR CABAYE cash in even if it is only 15mil, thays 3 times what we paid for him and if the lad doesn’t want to be here and does ‘t appreciate the badge on the front, then he can jog on. No name on the backs as big as the name on the front.

Do we think kinnear would actually produce better footy than parsnip?

1 source says we have money and no need to spend
another says we have no money at all and need to sell to buy + get wages off the books
pards doesnt seem to know whats going on ! niether does joke !

i just give in tbh ! my personal choice is i aint going to any games untill they sort themselves out.

Lol I’m from the west and that’s the best…

After their game Zola said that Watford were looking to strengthen for the season so must be bullshit…

We’ve waited this long for a loan deal so can’t see much happening before the window closes. It’s sad to think what’s happening in our great club.

Joe would do better than Pardew. When JFK was our manager he didn’t have half the players we have right now in terms of quality yet we never played this badly under him.

Pardew should take his entire coaching staff and head for the Championship. They might do a decent job there. Might. As for the Prem, it has moved on. Higher quality international managers, top directors, lots of money being spent because a lot of money is coming in. Ashley and Kinnear are dinosaurs and we know what happened to them.

Could we have beaten Man City at home the way Cardiff just did? Not a chance. We show no coherency as a team with no attacking plan. Desperately poor in attack. We would look poor in the Championship right now. Pardew seems to have completely lost the plot and Kinnear and Ashley aren’t exactly helping with their dithering either.
