Rumors Newcastle Have Bid £7M For Ghanaian International

Times Sport are supposedly reporting that Newcastle United have lodged a bid for Marseilles’ winger/striker Andre Ayew for around £7M.

Andre Ayew

Andre Ayew – £7M bid lodged by Newcastle?

This would be consistent with what happened over the weekend, with Joe Kinnear taking in the Valenciennes – Marseilles game on Saturday night, when Andre played the whole game for Marseilles.

And with the transfer window having only 7 days to run, Newcastle will need to get their bids in early,  since we’ve seen it takes time, a lot of time for Newcastle to negotiate any deal – so we have to hope this news is accurate.

But Marseilles are said to want around £10M for the 23 year-old, who has been capped 43 times for Ghana and scored 13 times in 45 games for Marseilles last term – and looks a very decent player.

We hope this news is true, as Geordie fans need some good news this week regarding Newcastle United – and maybe we can also hammer Morecombe on Wednesday night in the League cup? :D.

This is all a load of cr@p

The smoldering turd is incapable of doing anything productive… let alone make a bid for a player he watched just this week… give it several weeks and a holiday before he makes his next transfer acquisition.

I’d be shocked if anyone came in on a perm deal… Lost the faith with our board and manager. Still sticking by the players tho and hope some members of our squad do what Barton, Nolan, smudge and harps done after leyton orient hammered us 6-1 and revitalise the lads for a tough season ahead

Honestly, can anyone blame Cabaye for wanting to play for either PSG or Arsenal? Challenging for titles and playing in the CL instead of languishing in a hopelessly mediocre set up where he will be constantly misused and played out of position in a team that sets up to scrape draws and avoid defeat and in an attempt to claw back some dignity the club tries to portray themselves as the jilted lover.

This club has become disgusting, toxic and rotten. Ashamed of how we’re run these days.

Many fans need to be reminded of the club’s player strategy. It is to buy players with a good resale value.

I think Cabaye may be the first in this strategy as Carroll was home grown, Ba had a get out clause and Perch was possibly already around before the strategy was implemented.

Yup it’s true. We have made that bid.

He’s worth probably between 10-13 and we bid 7million. At the end of the window, JFK will come out and say they tried but couldn’t get it over the line.

If that’s the case then we need to ready ourselves for a big player leaving every transfer window as surely this policy is coming to fruition with a number of players.

And I won’t change my view. If we finish 11th then Pardew should go. The only way I will waver in that view is if we’re also say 2 points from 6th and well clear of a relegation battle…unlikely…

I can promise that you won’t see me backing off from that view. If we finish a poor 11th and Pardew is still in a job, I’ll be demanding he goes with the rest of you.

Funny how people bragged about our transfer policy when pretty much swapping Nolan for Cabaye, well by the looks of things we’ve ended up getting two seasons out of Cabaye, the transfer money will dissapear while Kevin Nolan remains one of the top scoring midfielders in the Prem, a sound policy would have seen us keeping Nolan then punting out Cabaye for 20M.

I’ve come to that conclusion too.

    To quote from Swiss Ramble:

‘Llambias admitted, “We’re not saying we are not a selling club. The reality is when we get the price in, we have to sell our best players.” ‘

Here’s a question, what if we suffer an injury crisis again this season? Will people still roll out the tired old excuse “he’s doing the best with what he has” cliché that was battered to death last season?

He didn’t use the best with what he had, he made a sow’s ear from a silk purse, most of last season he had a first XI that was better than Norwich, Swansea, Southampton, Fulham and he still blamed injuries, fatigue.

By not bringing in a few more signings, we’re giving Pardew yet another excuse.

So another alleged bid of half what a player is worth – a severe lack of learning going on with these idiotic, tight-fisted b@st@rds.
NUFC currently have zero morals and no regard for how offensive these bids are to….
    A) the players; who are fully aware of their own market values.
    B) the clubs whose assets they’re attempting to rob for their own gains.

A club being run in a disgraceful and seedy manner.

I would not get my hopes high on this. This is a player that has been consistently linked with Arsenal for about £15m, so a £7m bid would seem wide of the mark.

We are better asking the value of the player and then negotiating to avoid days of back and forth. Again, are we not better of buying English to balance the books. Tom Ince???? There are some fantastic players in the Championship and no doubt the English market is way to inflated, I am sure we can still pick up some talents.

You’ve not been on for a while…guess you’re busy lining up 4 purples for us eh?!

if you had an ounce of sense you’d just sack Pardew saying ‘All the players we approached just didn’t like the way Pardew makes his team play football and would only consider coming to our great club if there was a change in management.

Sparky…I understand you’re frustrated at Pardew, but do you not think the negotiator himself may be doing enough to turn potential signings off before the manager even comes in to the equation?

Where I am at with Ashley and co and transfers.

We were led to believe in January that Ashley jumped in and dealt with transfers as he was furious at the way it was being handled which would lead me to believe that he is happy with how this window in panning out.

Basically confirms thoughts that really what he was furious about was our league placing and nothing else. January isn’t too late to fix things, is it? I mean, it worked last season.

If there is the absolute minimum ambition coming from the top, how do we expect the manager or players to be motivated? The whole thing just stinks and any lower changes may temporarily give us a lift, but it can only be short lived imo.

Anyone who wants Pardew out, which is understandable and all well and good, but think ahead and you must realise that a bigger change is really needed…whether that be the one calling the shots or simply the shots he is calling.

ibizatoon…very well reasoned and the sunshine obviously contributes significantly to keeping you chilled out…but couldn’t disagree more.

No doubt our league position at xmas, the loss against reading and the thought of losing premiership status and all that goes with it re advertising value and the new sky deal means he had no option but to react.

but pardew has to take the blame for the way he has our very good squad playing football.

Pardew could turn Man U into a mid-table team overnight such is his negativity and out-dated 80’s tactics…if we had a good manager and a top 10 finish ashley would get no-where near the flack he gets right now…but we all know pardew is incapable of that and we somehow shift the blame to Ashley…but please remember..Ashley has financed just about every player you saw on the park on saturday which under a good manager would have humped west ham.

wolfshead…In a perverted way, I quite admire that aspect of Ashley…when it works anyway 🙂

Nothing wrong with being a tough negotiator, but there is a line and we crossed it a good while back…you know, when we basically stopped buying anyone except when we’re in trouble.

It’s maddening, it’s probably worth looking at the cost of buying proactively against the cost of buying reactively and then look at the benefit each method had on the eventual results…the only saving I imagine is there is on wages…but it is a guess at this point.
