    Repost.

Thought Gosling did ok, good defensive positions for their set pieces and put a decent overall shift in. There’s more to come from him.
Disagreed with him and Bigi in the middle from start. That’s not how to bring them on as players, chucking them both in together. One of them should have been alongside Sissoko and that sh*t in the 1st half wouldn’t have happened. Pardew needs to sort his self out or he will ruin them.
Sammy did well, but we know he is too good for defenders in that league, he struggled at Boro last season! Hope he steps up tho as he’s pleasant to watch running past defenders.
Mbiwa and Debs displayed an arrogance, thinking they were above the opposition and nearly got caught out a few times.
    Good looked Good!
Like to see him alongside Colo at some point to bring him on a bit.
Scoreline flattered and i am still very, very concerned!

Tottenham rumoured to be after Utd’s Hernandez for £15 million….he’s worth every penny of that IF you have players who can create for him.

Newcastle really must match the ambitions of their better players or risk being lumbered with a sullen group simply turning up and collecting their salaries, or agitating for a move and undermining the harmony of the squad. We do seem a club rapidly losing its heart and soul. I’m amazed it’s taken this long for the side to follow suit.

Gosling played very well. His runs off the ball are very effective and he set up a couple of chances. I think he should be given a run in the side.
For me, he is the only midfielder that will score goals given more time on the pitch, I think he’ll just get better.

I thought C.Good was good and i was impressed with both him and Dummett. Bigi was average tonight, not great. He is a bright prospect though. A loan for Bigi might be in his own interest. Sammy frustrated me big time tonight, yes, he did score and did get some crosses in from the byline offering us width and options for the strikers. He frustrated me because he looks like he is ice skating lol and sometimes lacks concentration and hangs onto the ball to much. He took his goal very well though. I seen a comment saying the game changed when Ameobi came on…..WRONG, it changed when HBA came on. His vision set up both the Ameobi goals. Shola missed sitter after sitter.

    @Nico

Always rated Gosling, he is a poor mans Gerrard but a decent player, will add the drive and movement we lack.

Vuckic must do something in training that stands out, i think he is finished at the Toon, will end up in eastern europe scratching around for a living.

Lets hope this initial excitement over incoming players is true… Only thing tho that doesn’t make sense is who will provide the chances for Gomis, Ba, Cisse & Remy… R wing play at times is awful and both of r dead ball specialists aren’t available I.e. fergie and raylor imo esp if cabs goes on, but I think now he will stay

    Hopefully Ince or Moses

I would take £20m for Cabaye and sign Moses or Ince, Gomis and then Ba on loan. I wouldnt replace Cabaye in this window, i would use Gosling or Anita in midfield.

plenty of eggs on faces from some of the posters on here!
so so negative even tho we get through!
how about you actually realize that this WAS a tough away CUP GAME!!
against a team that was well up for it and had a big crowd (for them) behind them?
and as for the sammy haters i.e (he’s shit not even championship standard) he’s done more than marveaux has in the same time this season! and against the same opposition!

For me Dummett and Good showed more composure at the back than French internationals Debuchy and Mbiwa. Not outstanding, as no one in the team is at the minute, but my men of the match. If like to see Good paired with Colo, can’t be worse than magnet handed Taylor!

well maybe its because they’ve played together many a time in the reserves and actually speak the same tongue but yeah its pardews stupidity how dare he put players in a position there used to after watching them every day (plus both left footers!)

You can only play against who you play.
    Gosling continues to impress me.
I think a lot of people don’t understand certain midfield types and therefore say they are crap. Lampard and Nolan used to get stick because they don’t get 100+ touches in the game. They, like Gosling make good runs off the ball that stretches defence and opens space for others. They also get into the box and score goals. I think if Gosling gets an injury free run in the side he could start doing this.

Cabaye was pretty much non existant last year, he has spat his dummy out and doesn’t want to wear our shirt and represent us loyal fans.

Gosling is hungry, got a point to prove and is capable of scoring from Midfield in which we lack. Sissoko should play defensive mid and break from deep like he used to do in France.

    Ben Arfa Gosling Sissoko Ince

    Remy Cisse/Ba

    Will keep us up.

Anita is a more direct replacement for Cabaye.
    Sissoko Anita
    Gosling

This could be an effective central mid 3.

Well I can’t comment too much because I only listened to it, but Talksport were describing us as being utterly woeful until the last 30 mins, is this a true reflection?

I’ve got to admit I’m thoroughly disappointed with the entire situation, we shouldn’t be struggling to the likes of Morecombe home or away for gods sake. It was a good pitch and good weather, no excuses.

I think that could be the end for Vuckic. Gosling had a good game tonight a box to box performance. Debuchy grew into the game after getting targetted for some rough stuff in the first half. He won some good headers on the back post when under pressure. |Did well to pick out Ben Arfa during the build up for the second goal.

we need to get rid of obertan, williamson, almifitnano (or what ever his name is) and maybe vuckic, and sign a strong ball winning CB, a out and out winger left side, and a striker is who is good in the air, mobile, quick, and can hold ball up, ashley williams, moses, and ba would be nice lol, and a RB who can defend, but i think 1 signing may be stretching it lol

Manx, negative, because if you didn’t see, we were poor again against a lower league side this isn’t a one off game, this is the norm.

A deflected goal and a goal in the final seconds where their whole team was up the end of the pitch trying for an equaliser, albeit good pass by Hatem and finish from Sammy.

It doesn’t excuse another struggling performance where the other other team looked the better for a lot of the game.

We’re through, good, but more poor organisation and offensive play, making it look a lot harder than it should be against a very low standard team.

Who knows what will happen against Fulham.

@8 – you need to watch the game again without your shola hater glasses. Its patently obvious they were having a torrid time when Shola came on and yes he missed a sitter (which he made) but he also scored. HBA was the nail in the coffin which stopped them from regrouping but by then the damage was done. Seriously lad, I am not a massive Shola fan but you have to admit it was a good tactical sub even when you don’t like it.
