PSG President – Anything Can Still Happen With Cabaye

The PSG manager Laurent Blanc hinted that Paris Saint-Germain could be finished with their transfer business for the summer, but just to keep things confused, the PSG President has come out in the French press today and said that anything is still possible in this transfer window.

Nasser Al-Khelaïfi – PSG President – anything is possible

This is what PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi said, when asked if PSG were still interested in Yohan Cabaye:

“This is a great player and I know Laurent Blanc likes him.” “But we have not made any offers on him to Newcastle.” “Anything can still happen between now and September 2nd.”

Alan Pardew reiterated yesterday that for a world-class player Newcastle want a world-class price, but the worry we have is that PSG could wait until the last minute next Monday and then come in with a bid of around £20M, and then what would Newcastle do?

Because we probably wouldn’t have time to bring in a top player, and every club we would go to would raise their price knowing that Newcastle had received a big fee for their French International.

It;s possible another Andy Carroll scenario could happen, this time with Yohan Cabaye.

Be interesting tonight! Very weakened side, but any one of our starting XI would be league 2?s best player let alone morecombes so there is still no excuse! Sammy and Bigi are in the england u21?s and U21?s, Dummett has wales caps, Vuckic has more technique and vision than most of our first team etc we are at lot stronger in every position than the opposition!
Games like this come down to the manager motivating the team enough to beat the heart of the underdogs! For me, pards has shown he can’t motivate the team when needed and theres a reason sky chose our game! Still, if we lose he can’t have any excuses and if we win i hope he obstains from the ‘we were fantastic today speech’. If we win weve despatched minnows 70 odd places below us as we should do everytime, it won’t be any turning point itl just he a step around a banana skin!

So no chance of replacement for strolla the amoeba (never mind Ba)….. I can wholeheartedly state that this lad wearing no.23 is crap on the internet AND shite watching from the stands. The lad will be starting against Fulham when he shouldn’t be anywhere near the 1st team. But that’s a perennial fault of our managers over the last 12 years – not his own. He IS irreplaceable, unfortunately……

So we can assume that Joe (omnishambles) Kinnear’s on the case and we’ll buy an additional MF in anticipation?

    Nah, no chance!

Club should take a stand on this! Yohan has 3 years left on his contract, if no one meets the asking price, don’t let him go! If he refuses to play, don’t pay him! Let him sit in the reserves in a world cup season! If he wants to bite off his nose to spite his face let him!
Clubs in good financial nick, when we signed Ben Arfa marseille were desperate for cash, NUFC doesnt have bailiffs at the door, itd be nice to see the power back with the club

Either bid for him or shut up and stop talking about him sick of this situation now hope cabaye leaves and the money we bring in gets us a couple of good players who want to be here on his performances last season if he carries that in this season best get rid now as his value will only decrease

Transfer sage- I Dont buy anything from the ground such as drinks, food or match programmes. I do belive that the people who are refusing to go back to the ground are having very little impact financially on ashley as there seats are just being replaced by other fans lol.

Martoon- i agree 100% with you, i think if we got a fast skillful winger and a striker we would be 10 times better going forward. I noticed that Santon and Debuchy didn’t attack as much which made our defence look a lot stronger as a unit. I agree with you that the atmosphere within the ground has changed over the last 5 years after the leazes section was split up. If we find our self getting beat at half/full time there is always a ring of boos in the stadium despite opponent or performance.

Rotonda Heights- I didnt mean to offend however when you watch the games from the stands you get a better picture of the game, This is my opinion. I do understand that a lot of people have other commitment/ restrictions to why they cant get to the game however i was commenting on how peoples opinions can differ from fans who go to the games and fans who dont.

Ashley should state any delay after today will put Cabaye’s price up by £1m per day, non negotiable as there will be little to no chance of finding a replacement, like Carroll where we were stuffed for a replacement.

So is the PSG President in cahoots with Wenger and Blanc to ensure that Cabaye at least leaves NUFC to a club that will help his French National Team selection ?
What price he now goes to Arsenal ( “anything can still happen” ) as maybe PSG have told Arsenal they will not get into a bidding battle providing that any sell on clause is to PSG.
Who knows but the French do protect their own so if Blanc -PSG and Wenger are all plotting together that wouldn’t be a surprise. Best result to stop any such antics is to not sell Cabaye or at worst take £25m for the privilege of selling him to a French cartel !

We are only going to buy players that will have a resale value, and by that i mean sale within two years.

If Cabaye is sold today, the chances of the fee being re-invested in a replacement or the team, this window, must be slightly above zero. NUFC (MA) just doesnt think like that, no matter how logical it may seem.
