    @ 2 reckon 80% of those long balls though are punts down the pitch… I wouldnt mind having a higher % if we switched play more

    I do have a soft spot for Palace and I thoroughly enjoyed watching them tonight especially as Sunderland were on the receiving end and were utter sh1t.

    Great introduction from Remy. He found a lot of space and influenced the game well. His game adds something we have missed for a long long time.

    @Chambers, When we win, we can all sit and complain and moan about how our opponents were crap and we got a lucky win, Even though we controlled every second of the game and our opponents were crap because we made them play crap from not giving them anything and winning every battle.

    The one thing you have to love about HBA is that he rarely gives less than 100%. That coupled with his skill make him our stand out player.

    If he could make better calls about when to dribble and when to pass, who knows how good he could be?

    More likely we’ll have to see him run down 10 blind alleys every game before he produces something like that. Something which nobody else in the team can ever dream of doing.

    I said earlier. Get Peter Beardsley to work with him and see how good he can be….

    Not really too big a drop in the gate. We were getting 44 – 45,00 early on against teams like Wigan last year. I was personally expecting 45k and it turned out to be 46.6k

    Fulham are never a good draw and they barely manage to bring a couple of hundred themselves. Their fans bus (singular) looked lonely on Barrack Rd this afternoon.

    And I bet the majority of those aimless balls were from Krul and Colo?

    To be fair Mbiwa and Debuchy were taking the ball off Krul a bit more which meant we kept possession much better

    Loving it how Sunderland got beat I honestly thought they were going to be much improved this season but if Fletcher gets injured again they could be in deep deep trouble as none of their new players look anything great yet

    The problem is what happens with Marveux ? I was calling for him to get a proper go but the last 3 games he has not really put any effort in his set pieces have been great but thats it Anita and Sissoko on the other hand have earned a longer shot ahead of Jonas and Tiote but I seriously doubt Pardew will drop his favourites

    Just wish we could buy a winger Tom Ince would fit the bill because he can play on either wing and can put quality into the box he has not played in the league but look at Redmond and Ince is better hes worth the gamble

    Would also allow Arfa to stay central as I think that could work well at times if there are other wingers stretching the pitch

    @Small World

    Would make all the difference if he knew when exactly to use the tricks and flicks. I could sense the crowd lose their patience when he halted play and tried to dribble past 2 defenders. Course he sort of did just that for the goal 🙂

    @santonthenewmaldini

    Most of us just had the basic request of dropping Jonas for Marveaux. He isn’t our solution on the left side by any stretch, and while Remy took to his LW role swimmingly, I wonder how long he will want to be there, especially if we go on another poor run and he starts craving for goals.

    And what if Cisse just never regains his form and we decide to play Remy up top instead? Then who fills in on the left?

    I think you all know the answer…

    Of course it would make all the difference. I’ve been banging on Beardsley tonight because he was the player that we all want HBA to be. He’s on our books I just think we should use him

    I don’t know how old you are. If you were privileged to see him play as I was, you’d know what I mean. The nearest thing to Lionel Messi we’ll ever see in a toon shirt. Not as good (who could be?), but the same direct deceptive dribbling style.

    Every time I see HBA and does what he did today I leave in awe of his skill and sheer frustration at what he maybe could be.

    Thank goodness he’s at the club right now or we’d be right in the clarts.

    @89 Norcal

    Yeah agree with that but if we got a proper left winger who can just deliver crosses into the box like the one Arfa done from the right (and Ince can do this I have seen him do it many times ) Then I dont think the question of Cisse’s place in the team will be in question as he will be getting service every game

    For me he has lost confidence in the way the team plays for so long he stopped making proper runs because he knows he is not going to get any service and some of the passes we hit him are ridiculous but I feel if we get a winger , Remy and a growing Arfa means he will make runs again because he will know he will get quality

    And if he is still off form well pretty sure a front 3 of Remy , Gouffran and Arfa could cause havoc as well

    If we got Gomis and Ince before the window closes we would actually be in great shape if we got a new manager ha ha

    This has been here for half an hour and none of the usual suspects have come on to complain about lack of signings, Pardew’s tactics or Ashley being greedy! I likey!

    Great to get off and running in the PL today, that was a much needed win!

    What did people read into the hug between Colo and Cabaye at the end of the game? Just celebrating? Or a goodbye hug?

    agree that ince would give us a lot more width and creativity instead of just relying on individual moments of brilliance from ben arfa. However I still think we need an extra forward even with Remy. yeah cisse was unlucky with his header, but people who watched the game can you not remember the amount of times he should have been away and on goal but his lousy touch let him down AGAIN.

    If we had a stronger more confident forward like gomis. who could hold the ball up and actually be a goal threat. Its amazing the fans who slate the likes of debuchy and stick up for cisse. Do yous watch the same game as me?
