Magpies Now Looking At Free Agents

There are reports in France that Newcastle never really entered into fresh negotiations with Lyon for Bafe Gomis before the transfer window closed, and Joe Kinnear had already ended his pursuit of Gomis last Saturday night, and the news is that Newcastle never  meet Lyon’s asking price, even though there were wide reports that Newcastle had done that, and there were even quotes from Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas that we had met their price and even agreed wages with Gomis.

Shefki Kuqi -Newcastle

Shefki Kuqi – played his heart out for Newcastle but wasn’t good enough
This is so like what happened last summer with Lille over Mathieu Debuchy.

And there is the astonishing news in the local papers today, that Newcastle will be now scour the free agent market,  to see if there is anybody there we can pick up for free.

You talk about being misers in the transfer market – this is ridiculous.

But this situation is not unlike what happened after Andy Carroll left the club in January, 2011 and we didn’t replace him, and we finally brought in free agent Shefki Kuqi on a short deal at the club.

There was nothing wrong with Shefki,  and he trained and played his heart out for the club, but he just wasn’t good enough.

So it looks we will be doing a similar thing again, but why Mike Ashley cannot spend the club’s money on some decent players – we have no idea – and we are now acting like a third division side who is skint.

Why?

And while Joe Kinnear is not a good Director of Football, it’s not Joe who determines the  money we can bid for a player and what wages we can offer – ultimately that’s the decision of the owner Mike Ashley.

That’s why we are in this situation at the moment – and why we didn’t get the job done in the summer.

It’s all simply not good enough for a club like Newcastle.

I hope people consider two possible results from a boycott or refusal to but merchandise etc.
1 – MA digs his heels in further and won’t spend anything on transfers for the next 3 years
2 – MA digs his heels in and just accepts it will take longer to pay off his loan and sell the club

People have to realise NEWCASTLE UNITED IS NOT MIKE ASHLEY. Hurting our beloved club just hurts our club. If the club gets half a million less revenue because of boycotts then that won’t hurt MA one bit because it’s NEWCASTLE UNITED’S MONEY!

My suggestion is a protest; not to demand Ashley out but to demand ambition at the club and good communication. That has the benefit of being a protest against the current ownership while also being a plea for a new, better owner.

It’s not our money though. Once we hand it over to the owner, by rights we are expecting it to be invested into the club/team.

However it’s going straight into an untracable black hole.

This money should be NEWCASTLE UNITEDS MONEY but the owner is not reinvesting it.

So why should the fans continue to put money into the owners pocket? We are paying for his mistake. If anything the fans are campaigning to endure their hard earned money is entered back into the club they love.

If you paid council tax and the council didn’t put any money into the local area and instead filled their pockets would you call on everyone to keep paying it?

Enough is enough. Mike Ashley simply has to go, and never ever touch this club again.

    Mike Ashley’s favourite price FREE
Looks like Gomis wanted to come but again we didn’t meet the valuation according to the Northern Echo
Ashley is like a horse trader surely he must regret the joke appointment by now

so we didn’t bring anybody in because there was no one out there in our price range that was better than what we already have? right

so they think unattached players are better than what we have? that’s got to be an insult to the players.

this club is a f****** joke. this is the first i’ve looked at the blog in a week, as well as anything to do with newcastle. i’m just despondent now. i expect nothing, and there is nothing by way of entertainment unless you appreciate slow motion train wrecks. done buying shirts and flying around the world to fill MAs pockets. sure, the hit will be infinitesimal to him, but i’m so sick and tired of inconveniencing myself just to be pissed off later. MA won’t spend money, fine. at least get a f****** manager in who knows how to work within the confines, isn’t a lying scoundrel and can serve up entertaining football ffs

    AShley has to go…

Well, if your intent is to put down the whole capitalist system, you’ll be busy for a while.

Outside of that, either you got enough money to make a good offer to Ashley or he will stay.

I accept at unfortunately some of my council tax may be going to pay off debts due to earlier unforeseen circumstances, that’s just what it is. Sure MA needs to accept some blame for when we got relegated, as do KK, JFK, DL, DW, CH, AS and the players. It damaged the brand of the club and it would have hurt him in terms of marketing and reputation.

The club owes MA money, he’ll get it back one way or another. As long as he continues to just take back the loan money rather than paying himself a huge salary like his predecessors, I see this as only a good thing for NUFC.

Perhaps after signing remy we withdrew our offer for gomis.
Towards the end of the window we negotiated for Jan.

I cant understand why though, cause reports came in about Gomis wanting Marseille.

I think Carlton Cole signed for west Sham but failed a medical cos he’s too unfit ( go on Joe it’s just your thing) I can’t wait to see him lummoxing round in a black and white shirt…………….not.
I wonder if the evening chronicle have heard Cashley is being bought out, but they can’t print anything about it ,but now are not scared to rock the boat with the club as they know there’s a new owner just round the corner.
    We can hope can’t we?

So there’s a protest march about mike Ashley planned.

Should the march succeed and Mike Ashley turns round and takes what he is owed and leaves what happens to the £111,000,000 crevice he leaves behind.

Be careful what you wish for. If he sells the club fine but if he turns his back the. We may end up on a much much worse scenario

I understand everyones disheartment (is that a word?) But until we see the Team play again there aint no need to drag the morale of the guys down.
They all have an unfinished job to do from last year.
We’ve only had one bad game since start of Season.
We have a good Home tie in League Cup.

I’m actually shocked to hear ricardo quaresma is a free agent, he is a very good player and is a LW aswell! But I suppose even Free players are to expensive for MA!

even the most positive rose tinted glasses person could not be happy with the lack of ambition shown by the owners this window, we should of all seen it coming after the sucsses we had with bargins in janurary,we looked bad in our first game we were as bad as west ham…..the leage cup…… and we showed some good bits of play against fulam, with remy fit and training with our squad now we can only get better…..we need to get behind the team now. i dont think telling ashley what to do with his money will work, maybe a change of tackt like a women when she wants something she cant do enough for you…….i dont like what mikes doing one bit but it aint my money and if it was i wouldnt be impressed with someone telling me what to do with it …….ashley out wont work we need to whoo him somehow what about singing a song at a game telling how much we all love him and thanks for investing in players last janurary and wont you please, please please, buy more lol….. it might make him smile were stuck with mike
