Hammers Concern – Andy Carroll Crocked – Out For Four Months

8:50 pm, Tuesday, September 10th, 2013 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 34 Comments

West Ham paid a massive £15M to sign Andy Carroll from Liverpool in the summer, and the reports were that Carroll even got a wage increase to go to London, and is being paid £100K/week by the London side.

Andy Carroll – could be out another four months

Andy was injured in the last game of the Premier League season, when he had a heel injury, and the Geordie lad didn’t make the start of the season.

Andy had returned to training, but the Hammers are now waiting for scans on a new foot injury he suffered in training yesterday.

A West Ham statement said the following:

“Although it is in the same part of his foot as his previous injury, it is a new injury.” “West Ham United can confirm Andy Carroll suffered an injury to his right foot during his return to full training.”

“There will be no prognosis until he has seen a specialist.”

And as a precaution West Ham this afternoon confirmed the signing of former Fulham and Croation striker Mladen Petric, who was a free agent.

And we assume Newcastle had decided not to sign this striker – following the news yesterday we are looking at the free agent market,  because of our failure to sign another striker this summer.

It’s a lot of money to pay for a player like big Andy, who seems to be injury prone.

And Carroll  is on a six year deal, but the player himself must be in some distress, as we’re quite sure the only thing Andy wants to do is to play and earn his wages at West Ham.

Reading about AC makes me think – we were widely reported to have a sell-on clause, did we get anything from his move to WH? If so, we probably spent less than we got this summer.

Very good player when fit, but retaining fitness is a real problem for the lad……………….and if he is actually on 100k a week then the board at West Ham need their heads looking at

Can you imagine the nervous break down Pards would have if he had to pick a team from this lot, Tino Asprilla, Peter Beardsley, Joey Barton, John Beresford, , Olivier Bernard, Nicky Butt,  Andy Cole, Nicos Dabizas, Kieron Dyer, Les Ferdinand, Ruel Fox, Keith Gillespie,David Ginola, Shay Given, Steve Harper,Brian Rob Lee, Kevin Nolan, LiamO’Brien, Darren Peacock, Scott Sellars, Alan Shearer, Nobby Solano, PavelSrnicek,“Where’s Shola and Guti, we weren’t at full strength make no mistake, we could ‘ave done with those two bodies in the biwdin”

    Jack butler
Is he? Can’t remember that far back, wasn’t the last time he was fully fit about 2 months before we sold him?

  • 5 martoon // Sep 10, 2013 at 9:04 PM

mondziu – I’m pretty sure it was reported at the time that there wasn’t a sell on clause because of the amount of money that Liverfool paid.
I’m sure I read an article that linked alcohol to being injury prone – Dyer was another example.

Haha yeah mate, that’s about right, though he did have a long spell of fitness at Liverpool but that coincided with a long spell on the bench :D

Feel sorry for AC, he’s got mixed reviews on here, but I’d believe his silence over Mashleys propaganda any day of the week.

  • 8 JackButler // Sep 10, 2013 at 9:11 PM

    Jail

As footballers seem to love the release of an autobiography, its only a matter of time before the truth about what has actually happened behind the Iron Curtain come’s out

The answer to how to remove Mike Ashley is simple, hit Sports Directs income. This solution I am about to propose will take down the Sports Direct for as long as you want (money permitting). For a few hundred pounds you can take down the website for a couple of days. Now imagine 50,000 fans paying £1 each, you can take the website down for 1 year easily. This is completely anonymous and is done by skilled people, such as those who took down the FBI website.
    So the steps are;

(this guide assumes a group of people have opened a digital Bitcoin account and deposited funds)

    1) Access the ‘Dark Web’ (can only be done using the ‘TOR’ web browser. The websites below are only accessible via the TOR browser.
    2) Create an account (or login if you have one already) at ‘The Silk Road’ (http://silkroadvb5piz3r.onion) or ‘Atlantis’(http://atlantisrky4es5q.onion) or any other site selling such services.
    3) Find the appropriate section to do with website services etc, pick the highest rated seller you can find (some will have 100% quality feedback).
    4) Discuss with the seller the website you wish to take down (Sports Direct) and the amount of time you want to take it down for, 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, 1 month etc. Mention any other requests like replacing the site with a holding message saying “Ashley out!” etc, agree a price with the seller and finalise the deal. The good thing is the funds are held by escrow and so the seller isn’t paid until the goods or service has been delivered.
    5) Sit back and watch Sports Direct shares plummet!

Can’t agree with that mate, not saying I don’t believe he was forced out or anything but I refuse to feel sorry for a abusive alcoholic who beats his partner
Imo if it came out his career was over due to injuries it would be no less than someone like him deserves

  • 11 toonarmydownsouth // Sep 10, 2013 at 9:15 PM

Watching England is painfully similar to watching the toon bar 15 mins against Fulham!!

    Was just thinking that

  • 13 theartfuldodger // Sep 10, 2013 at 9:20 PM

    TADS,

    France is not much different.
The previous game and first half of this one. Giroud looking like cisse.

  • 14 martoon // Sep 10, 2013 at 9:21 PM

James Milner is England’s Jonas – he plays on the wing but never crosses and he is never substituted :)

  • 15 toonarmydownsouth // Sep 10, 2013 at 9:30 PM

    theartfuldodger
Yeah France aren’t playing well at the moment, think I read that at the 23rd minute it indicated France’s longest dry run without a goal for 75 years!!!

    Goodfella
Just have no sympathy for people like that

  • 16 toonarmydownsouth // Sep 10, 2013 at 9:31 PM

    Goodfella
Oh wait, the England toon thing!
Aye both painfully gutless up top!

  • 17 theartfuldodger // Sep 10, 2013 at 9:34 PM

    France winning 4-2 though now

  • 18 Big Pappa Cissé // Sep 10, 2013 at 9:34 PM

Konoplyanka for Ukraine is some talent like, has had Walker on toast all game and would be perfect for our winger shortage .

  • 19 Goodfella // Sep 10, 2013 at 9:41 PM

Is it just me or does anyone else think some players only get in the England squad because of who they play for?

  • 20 Goodfella // Sep 10, 2013 at 9:44 PM

By the way Cahill was the best player for England tonight

  • 21 Jail for Ashley // Sep 10, 2013 at 9:50 PM

    tads,
The trouble is with England footballers not one of them hasn’t been involved in scandal, so looking at it that way coupled with the fact he’s on 80K+ a week, then probably don’t feel sorry for any of them but it’s a shame we don’t get to see a good footballer playing every week.

  • 22 stan anderson // Sep 10, 2013 at 9:54 PM

Watching the Toon and England is to much to take.I think i will take up fishing

  • 23 BandB // Sep 10, 2013 at 9:56 PM

Two effin hours of an elderly chap saying, “Make my Day” everytime the Ukrainian goalie touched the ball.
Anyone know what that might be about?
Answers on a postcard to “Gone to bed, shatterered.”

  • 24 Goodfella // Sep 10, 2013 at 9:58 PM

    Banb b
Did the goalie not make a mistake against England in the euros for our goal.

  • 25 Jail for Ashley // Sep 10, 2013 at 10:00 PM

    Band B,
Will you be taking the ‘old man’ to Steve Harpers testimonial ?

  • 26 Goodfella // Sep 10, 2013 at 10:05 PM

    Is harpers testimonial sold out?

  • 27 Jail for Ashley // Sep 10, 2013 at 10:08 PM

    Goodfella,
Not yet, but there are very few seats left in level 7 behind the goal and a few left together in the corner of SJH stand.
    Information correct from 17:30.

  • 28 Jail for Ashley // Sep 10, 2013 at 10:10 PM

Anybody , thinking of going, I would recommend getting your ticket tonight, there won’t be many people allowed to pay on the door.

  • 29 scout // Sep 10, 2013 at 10:10 PM

Harpers testimonial should be a corker. Great gesture to give the money to charity as well. 2nd choice keeper getting 40,000 for a testimonial. Wouldn’t happen anywhere else on the planet.
Good luck Steve, hope to talk to you again in the half moon pal
