Yohan Cabaye’s wife has just had a baby, so the turmoil in the summer must have been that much more difficult for the Frenchman, who didn’t know if he would end up playing in London for Arsenal, or be staying at Newcastle.
Cabaye in action against Fulham
But Yohan’s still at Newcastle, and from what manager Alan Pardew says today, it looks like he’s only concentrating on playing for Newcastle, which is good to hear.
It seems that Yohan has settled in again at Newcastle, and of course he refused to play for us in the first two league games, but came on against Fulham, and looked good, and he must be in line to start the game at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon.
This is what Alan Pardew told the local press today about Cabaye:
“He’s been terrific, and he’s just got his head down.” “Loic Remy has had a good week too, and Yohan stayed behind and has had a full week here.” “Yohan’s been able to get a lot of work done, and his wife has just had a baby too.”
“He has just got on with his work and settled down. He’s getting on with the job in hand.” “He changed the game that day at Villa Park in one of his early appearances.”
“He helped us get the ball down and play, and destroyed Aston Villa with some great runs.”
Pardew is referring to the game at Villa Park two years ago on September 17th to be exact, when Newcastle came from behind to equalize in the second half with a Leon Best goal.
Aston Villa have had three tough fixtures to start their season in the league, at Arsenal and then home games against Chelsea and Liverpool.
And after winning 3-1 at the Emirates in their first game, they have subsequently lost their next two games, 2-1 against Cheslea and 1-0 against Liverpool.
It will be a tough game for the lads, but one we will be looking to get all 3 points from.
